Thanks. Yeah, I'm fine. I'm home now. They were going to go on with the party, so we were staying and they were continuing with the set-up, and some of us changed clothes. But then right when I got out of the bathroom they sent out an e-mail saying that the party was off, that they wouldn't let anyone up to the office with the food, or let the guests up for that matter. Some people had already started the party, if you know what I mean , so they were looking for a place to continue, so since I don't drink I decided to just go home. Luckily things were fine at Union, but I just missed the 5:48 (it was pulling out as I walked up), so I got a Happy Meal and a Krispy Kreme snowman donut to go, and made it home by about 7. I don't know what they're going to do about the party. I'm sure they've already spent a lot of money on the cancelled party, so I don't know if they'd be willing to do the same thing again.

It sure was a crazy day. I never really felt like I was in danger, because you have to use a pass key to get each floor and it didn't sound like the guy was nearby. Although it was a little alarming when we were reading that he was at large, like he could be just roaming the building.

How did everyone else do with their commutes?

I'm glad you are OK Leigh! Very Scary! Too bad about the Christmas party. What a waste. It's so sad that guy managed to kill those poor three people before it all ended. I wonder what his crazy problem was?????

Leigh Sorry about your Christmas party but I am glad you are safe. I heard about that stuff at the train station while I was driving Alex to his dad's.

Mac Hopefully Mr Mac made it home safe and sound.

Our Christmas party was nice lots of really good food. We were at Francesca's in St Charles I love their food (really good Italian) Plus its nice and close to home.

Did any of you see on tv last night the live shot of all the people filing into the train station? I have to imagine that some, if not most of them had no clue what was going on. What a crazy scene that must have been!

I survived the FD Christmas party last night. I didn't get razzed as much as I thought I would, which was good. I did get the nickname "Crash", but that's okay, I got a thick skin

Welcome to all our new members

I'm glad everyone on the board is OK from downtown. I didn't hear anything about I almost never have the news on, so I have to get all my info from different boards I'm on. I haven't even had the news on this morning.

We went to a High School varsity basketball game last night due to my boys in Cub Scouts. It was fun, we did a tour of the school (you will get lost in that place! At least until we got to the wrestling gym and came out by the gymnastics gym -- that's our 2nd home, so I *know* THAT area but never go beyond it), then the boys carried the flag out before the game. We stayed to watch. They had a blast and we won too!

I think it's supposed to be televised on one of the local town cable channels but I have no idea at least that is what I overheard one of the Cub Scout dads say. It was against DeKalb.

Hi all, I'm here!
Sorry, been MIA. Thanks for your concern, Slo.
I'm doing well, just tired today. I have been reading up, but just haven't posted, as I have been busy with things in general and holiday stuff the past few days. Lets see..... the kids came home with their report cards a few days ago. Matthew has had some homework lates the past few weeks(for the trimester). They give him WAY too much homework, which makes me furious Been trying to catch him up on his late homework. And also been corresponding back and forth with his classroom teacher and the special-ed teacher. They just have WAY too high expectations of him. Anyways, been busy with a contest I entered recently,an essay contest, for to win a trip to WDW. Took me a few hours to do, writing up a rough draft on paper, then editing it a couple of times. Then writing it online on their website and submitting a pic with it. Just took me alot of hours to do. Hope I win, tho, it is a long shot. I don't want to disclose yet who is running the contest, as it gives me a better chance to win. Tho I don't think I'll win I know, I'm bad
Also, we went to a pizza dinner party last night with some neighbors. Didn't get home til after 10pm last night. Chrissy had a girl scouts activity this morning at Dominick's. Each girl in the troop made gingerbread houses! DH and I had a real rough time getting her out the door this morning, as she was tired and is not a "morning person", like me
