Cheryl's WISH Journal (comments welcome)

Feb. 14, 2004

Breakfast Protein drink (I wanted something lite because I just needed some energy so that I can go walk on my treadnmill now:jumping1:

I made it 5 miles on the treadmill today, 82 minutes!

2nd breakfast Yes I had another break=fast after walking on the treadmill but I was hungry after going that long and DH was making scrambled eggs and ham for himself so I had some too  along with a cup of coffee with cream and sf hazelnut flavoring.

Lunch Grilled chicken breast with bacon and pepperjack cheese

Snack Hood Atkins aproved low carb yogurt (only 4 net carbs) and string cheese and a handful of almonds. I think I'm so hungry today because I walked so long on the treadmill but now it's almost dinner time and I'm not very hungry so that should make it easier to watch what I eat at Vegas Night tonight at our church.

Cheryl~ you are making such great food choices! Keep up the great work. It is great, too, that you've set your eyes on a goal--we all know you can get there! Keep walking away on that treadmill--all of those cheat free days look so good on you! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the words of encouragement Pam and DavidandDenise!

We are going out tonight for Vegas Night at our church and they start the night out with a buffet dinner. I will just have to watch it and have salad and hopefully they'll have some meat that is not already in any gravy and definitely no dinner rolls or dessert.

vegas night sounds like fun! hope they had some good food choices for you :)

OK here I go again. I am vowing yet again to get better about my journaling. I was TERIBLE over the weekend (went upnorth for a visit to my sister's house) and even worse on Fat Tuesday so now I have to get back on track, again. Yesterday I did good so I now have 16 cheat free days for the month of Feb. I hope to do much much better for the month of March which is just around the corner and before I know it summer will be here again. I'd really like to loose the 15 pounds I now need to loose to make my goal weight by June so it's really time to stop this yo yoing and buckle down!

Breakfast 2 eggs, Canadian bacon, cheese, Atkins Lemon Poopyseed muffin and coffee with cream and splenda

Walked/jogged on the treadmill 2 miles

Snack Another muffin and glass of Carb Countdown milk

Lunch Low carb bar on the go and string cheese

Snack Another muffin (they're best when they're fresh ;) )

Dinner Jambalya, cheese and low carb pudding

Now for the BAD part, I had a Girl Scout Cookie melt down. DD and I picked up her cookie order and while we were sorting them out I kept telling myself I'm not going to eat even 1 of these cookies and then DD asked if we could please open 1 of our boxes and I gave in. Well she did have to pick my favorites, Thin (yah right thin) Mints and I crumbled. I think I ate 1/2 almost 1/2 the box and here I had just vowed to start over and be really good and now I"ve had to start over yet again.

It's OK. It's history. Put it behind you. Don't dwell on the bad days. Think about all of the good days you have had this month. Don't do what I usually do..........let is mess with my mind! I talk myself into another day of failure, somtimes. Why do we do that to ourselves? What counts is your next meal. Go right back to your plan with the next meal. You can do it, buddie! :Pinkbounc

Now...........GO GET RID OF THOSE STINKIN' COOKIES!! :teeth:

PS. I think we truly are kindred spirits........the Thin Mints are my favorites, too!

I didn't get a chance to post yesterdays eatin because I was too tired adter a long, really busy day at work so I'll post both yesterday and today tonight.

Feb. 27, 2004

Breakfast 3 egg and chees omlette, Atkins muffin with butter, Carb Countdown milk

Lunch Scoop of tuna salad, cauliflower, and zuchini and tomatoes from caffeteria at work, coffee with cream and splenda

Snack String cheese and sugar free yogurt

Dinner I didn't get a "real" dinner because got swamped at work at that time so I had a low carb bar (Power Bar Pria) I was sooo glad I had that in my bag so I could grab something really quick and then I had 2 Atkins muffins and butter and a Edge low carb shake

It was a much better day than yesterday when I had my cookie melt down!

Feb. 28, 2004

Breakfast We went to Old Country Buffet for their breakfast buffet and it was very easy to stay on plan. I had eggs, cheese, ham carving, and bacon and coffee with half and half and splenda

Lunch Edge low carb shake and 2 Atkins muffins with butter

Snack Carb Countdown milk

Dinner We were out running errands and we stopped at Chilis for dinner. I had the Mushroom Jack Chicken Fajitas served over grilled veges. instead of with the tortilla shells. I think the menu had it marked as 23 carbs, 10 fiber which would make it 13 net carbs if they are right so not too bad for a dinner out. Had Diet Coke to drink.

DD and I went to a friends this evening for a night of scrap booking and I wasn't even tempted by the brownies, M&Ms and chips she had out. I did have a diet Sierra Mist so I did drink alot of diet soda today but all in all I think it was another pretty good day. I had wanted to get on the treadmill but just didn't have the time so tomorrow I want to do at least 4 miles on it.

Way to go. You made good choices with all of your going out to eat. WooooHoooo!:Pinkbounc

And saying no to all of those goodies?? Whew. That would take all of my energy, and YOU DID IT! Great job.:D

And hey, I try to cut back on the diet soda too. But when I am saying no to all kinds of REALLY bad, sugary stuff.........I say, have a diet soda and don't worry about it. If I had taken a diet soda for every time I was offered brownies/cake/pie, I wouldn't be in this mess!

Way to go, buddie. I am proud of you. Have a great Sunday.
:sunny:

Feb. 29, 2004

Breakfast Carb Countdown milk, 2 eggs, Canadian bacon, cheese, Atkins miffin with butter and coffee with cream and Splenda

Lunch Pepperoni with cheese and sugar free yogurt

Snack Low carb pudding, cheese curds

DD and I are off for a walk with our dog. It is a beautiful day here today, around 55 and sunny :sunny: .

Took dog for a 45 min. walk/jog I was afraid I wouldn't keep the pace that I have been walking on the treadmill if I walked outside, but thanks to our dog Belle who was raring to go after being cooped up in the house all winter, I had no problem walking fast and I did the most jogging I have ever done. In the fall I would jog a short distance at 1 point when we'd go for a walk and today I was able to make a longer distance of jogging plus I jogged multiple times interspaced throughout the walk. I guess I am getting more fit!:D

Dinner Italian chicken breast stuffed with cheese and marinara type sauce (the box said it was 12c, not too bad and pretty yummy), salad, Carb Countdown milk

cheryl, great job with that walk/jog yesterday! how wonderful to be able to get out into the fresh air with the doggie, and to keep such a great pace! you really are getting more fit, i'm so proud of you :)

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Cheryl, you're JOGGING???!!! Way to go!! You are getting in shape! You're doing a wonderful job and I think it will get easier now that the weather is getting warmer!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Yep Marcia and Doreen I did some jogging on Sunday and then Monday and Tuesday my shins were very sore. I don't know if it was because of the jogging or because of being out on the "hard" roads instead of on my "cushioned" treadmill. They are feeling much better today and it is very gloomy outside today so I think I'll do a longer easier pace on the treadmill today so I don't overdo it on my poor shins again.

Thanks to both of you for the words of support!!

Marcia, did you start over with your cheat free bear for the month of March? That's what I'm doing too. I made it 19/29 days of Feb. cheat free and would like to make the whole month of March that way, so far so good fo me 2/2 LOL. I will have 1 hard weekend in the middle of the month when I go away for the weekend with some girlfriends from highschool. We all turn 40, yikes, this year and we are going to "celebrate" with a weekend shopping excursion. When I am away is usually my biggest challenge but I am already working on telling myself that by the 19th I will be 19 days into no cheat and I CAN DO IT, I hope my resolve will stay when the 19th actually gets here.

Feb. 3, 2004

Breakfast my usual, 2 eggs, Canadian bacon and cheese, coffee with cream and Splenda, water

Walked on treadmill 90 min., 4.25 miles I walked at the 3 mph pace today which is slower than I usually go but I wanted to do a long walk today and I didn't want to "stress" my shins by going too fast.

Lunch Low carb shake, low carb creamed spinach

Snack Low carb breakfast porridge (I know breakfast porridge for an afternoon snack, but ot has flax seed in it and I was reading while I was on the treadmill about how good flax seed is for us so this was a way I knew I could get some in)

Snack Cheesestick and cofee with cream and Splenda

Dinner Ground sirloin browned with onions, with shredded cheese and salsa on top, Carb Countdown milk, salad

LOTS of water all day! :boat:

cheryl, yup, i started my cheat free bear back at zero for the beginning of the month. so far, i'm 2/2, and so are you! so that's good :)

your weekend with your girlfriends sounds like it will be such fun! it's so great to be able to have quality time with great friends :). and i'm sure you can stay cheat free up till then, that way, you don't have to be so cautious for that weekend. i've got a week of housesitting/babysitting next week, and i know i'm not going to be able to count points. so i'm just going to make the best possible choices and consider myself cheat free if i do that. i think it's all about balance. you can't possibly expect yourself to be perfect every single day. we've gotta learn to give ourselves some leeway and not be so hard on ourselves. so definitely enjoy your weekend with your girlfriends. don't end up regretting anything :)

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Marcia, I like your philosophy about making the best possible choices, I am going to adopt it and will definitely give that my best shot! I was thinking I could take along some low carb shakes when I go incase the breakfast bar at the hotel only has breads, muffins, donuts, cereal and all the other high carb foods, then at least I'd know I could start the day right and it should be easy to have chicken or salads or even a bunless burger for the lunches or dinners when I'm gone. Planning ahead always helps me.

Have a good week babysitting/housesitting!:sunny:

We both made it to day 3 with our bears!!;)

Cheryl :wave2:

Cheryl,

You're doing great!

Yeah, I think it is a good idea to plan ahead. And you're right. Just make good choices if you get in a corner. For breakfast, if they have a continental breakfast, you could take along your absolute favorite protein bar and have that instead of the other stuff.

Where is your weekend shopping going to be?? It sounds like fun. I should do something like that for mine. I don't know what to do for 40? It is coming up and I want to do something but I don't know what. I'll keep thinking.

Have a great one, buddie!:sunny:

Oh, what a great buddie I am. Your birthday was in January!! Did I wish you a happy birthday in January? I don't remember doing so. I can't find you mentioning it anywhere in your journal. What!!!!???? Did I?? Did I miss it?? Oh, I'm having a panic attack. I was about to ask you when your bday is an then I thought, I think that info is in our profiles. Yikes! Yours was Jan.

YOU'RE ALREADY FORTY!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: WoooooooooooHoooooooooo!!!!!!

AND YOU'RE LOOKIN GOOD, BAAAABYYYYY!!!!!!! :p
