Will have lunch several times in Epcot. Picked Chefs de France because of Remy (hopefully he will be there..). Is the food good too? About half the reviews I've seen do not speak highly of the food.

The menu sounds good! What are your favorite appetizers and entrees... but not escargot... I just can't get myself to eat snails!

We had pretty bad service when we went last year and the food was just ok. Remy was a lot of fun for the kids though and was definitely the highlight of an otherwise bad dining experience. We wouldn't go back.

If you've booked only because you want to see Remy, make sure you haven't booked a Sunday. Also, his last daily appearance is scheduled for 5:20 pm so if you're booked after that you most likely won't see him (you say you booked lunch, so it's probably going to be OK if it's not a Sunday)

Also, if you haven't already, I've seen it suggested that if you have young children, you not promise them that Remy will appear - if he breaks down, he won't.

We love the place and eat there at least once on every trip. For us the food is always really good too. I don't have children but am thinking the type/presentation of the food may not be too kid friendly.

My husband and I tried Chef’s for the first time on our trip last week and we loved it. We ate there for lunch. My husband had the escargot for app and the roasted chicken. He raved about both. I had the salad with blue cheese and the macaroni and cheese. Both were excellent. The portions they give you are smaller than we are use to but it was nice to leave the restaurant not stuffed to the gills. We are looking forward to trying it for dinner on our trip next May.

We had a great lunch at Chefs in May. Previously did not enjoy a dinner there. Click the link in my signature to our last dining review for the full review in detail with photos.

Had a great lunch there about a week and a half ago. DH had escargot and the adult mac and cheese (he couldn't finish the entree, too much food). I had the onion soup and chicken crepe, both very good. We had excellent service. Would go back again.

we've been twice for lunch and it's a firm one on our list with good food and service and good kids options. have a look at the reviews in my signature below.

Thank you all for the encouragement. We are booked on a Tuesday at 1pm, hoping Remy comes around starting at 1:40pm according to Steve Soares web site... understanding there's always the chance Remy might not be there. Pictures on the dining review look great!

What makes the food "French". The dinner menu has more options than lunch... but is the food really uniquely French?

If the menu doesn't change, here's what I'm thinking for lunch.... it sure sounds delicious. I'm hungry already....

Appetizer: Salade de blanc de volaille, sauce curry - Grilled chicken breast and spicy curry served with avacado, tomato and green fields .... or soup (lobster bisque or onion soup).

Entree: Mahi-Mahi sandwich, pommes frites et sauce tartare - Mahi-Mahi in a mediterranean bread, braised peppers and onions, French fries and tartar sauce. -$13.95

Dessert: Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes - Crepe filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce.

i've done lunch (2009) there once and dinner (2007) there once. for lunch i loved the goat cheese on the cheese plate appetizer (i could have made a lunch of that with crackers but that's me) and i really liked the french onion soup, i didn't like the crepe. my husband absolutely LOVES the Croque Monsieur sandwich to the point that we got the recipe from them and i now make it for him at home. when we had dinner there we both had seafood but i can't remember exactly what we had (it was 2007) but we both liked it a lot.

I think this restaurant can be hit or miss with both food and service, but we seem to always get lucky with both. I do think they have one of the best Kid's Menus of any park restaurants. Our DD enjoys eating there. Last time she got the Cheese Puff Pastry for an appetizer and the Pan roasted flounder for an entree. It was a ton of food for her plus she and I were both happy that it wasn't the typical chicken fingers, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.

For an app, I had the assortment of French pates and charcuteries -- YUM! DH had the cheese plate -- also YUMMY.

For entrees I had the Salmon and DH had the beef short ribs. I thought his was a little too salty, but the beef was fork tender and overall tasty. There wasn't a drop left. My salmon was also pretty good and I didn't have much left. Portions were pretty large.

For dessert I had Creme Brulee which was good, but sorta standard. DH had Puff Choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, again good, but not to die for good. DD had a birthday cupcake and icecream.

Service was great...this was our waiters 2nd day in the US, so he was a bit nervous. But, because of that I think he was a little overly attentive. Half the wait staff came and sang "Joyeux Anniversaire" to DD, so that was cool. And, yes, Remy did visit our table, just after we sat down and I had run outside with DD because Marie (from the Aristocats appeared for autographs and pictures). But, since we were outside, Remy made a special trip back to our table. DD enjoyed seeing him...it was a suprise, as PP said, we didn't tell her in case we missed him.

I think it's worth going to and making your own opinion. I've always enjoyed it there, but it doesn't make our ADR list every viist since there are just so many places to eat in Epcot and right now Akershus/Princesses are always an ADR!

Hope you enjoy it if you decide to go.

We have had lunch there several times and have been more pleased than with our dinners there.
We like to get the onion soup and quiche for lunch.
I think it is on the $20 special now. We didn't care for the crepe. The banana/chocolate/coconut thing was good though.
