Chef Mickey's or LTT?

DH and I are having a little disagreement about these two meals. During our 7 night stay, we are planning on 3 character meals with DD, 3. Princess Storybook Breakfast, Crystal Palace lunch, and than the problem. I want to do Chef Mickey's on our final night, I think it sounds like a fun place for a 3 yr old and I like the idea that it's a buffet. He wants to do our last dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. He thinks Chef Mickey's will be to loud, and that's not how he wants to spend the last night of his vacation. :sad2: Is there anyone out there who actually liked LTT more than Chef Mickey's? I just want my daughter to enjoy herself, after all, this trip is for HER birthday!
TIA

I've stated quite a few times on this board my disappointment with Chef Mickey's. Bad food, loud atmosphere, and the character interaction compared to LTT is pitiful. We did this for my DS 3rd birthday dinner. We will not return.

The waitstaff at LTT is attentive, the food is delicious, and the characters are fun and not rushed. The atmosphere is definitely less frenetic than CM. Since you don't have to get your own food, it isn't awkard when characters are close to your table and you feel like if you get up, they'll pass you by.

If you do CM's, prepare for a big I told you so from your husband! If you do LTT, you may be happily surprised. In any case, have a great and special vacation with your DD! :goodvibes P.S. I'm sure the next post will be the exact opposite of mine!

I didn't like LTT at all! We have eaten at Chef Mickey's twice now -- once for breakfast and once for dinner. Loved it both times. Yes, it is loud but the atmosphere is so fun and my two DS's just loved every minute of it.

Our family has been to CM's 3 times now (twice for breakfast and once for dinner) and we absolutely LOVE IT there! We have always had such a fun time there and actually we are planning on doing Ohana's character breakfast this upcoming trip and I'm so hoping I won't be disappointed! All the characters were so attentive and on our last trip when dd was 6 months old Mickey and Minnie spent a lot of time doting on her. It was SO cute. Mickey even gave my dh 2 thumbs up. :) We will definitely be returning there on future trips and the only reason why we aren't doing it this time is we are going for an entirely different experience both with our priority seatings and resort stay!

Have a ball either way, as we've never done LTT but it does sound/look like fun too.

I love them both. The pros to LTT: It is right inside MK which is a big plus. No exiting the park and getting over to the Contemporary which seems easy but can be a pain. The food is very good. As somebody else stated, it is nice that they bring it to you so you don't have to worry about missing a character when you head to the buffet. It is all you can eat so you cannot go hungry. The characters are dressed in colonial outifits which is kind of fun and unique. Maybe you can time your dinner so that it ends just before Spectromagic. Much more relaxed atmosphere.

Chef Mickey's is also a lot of fun. It is a lot of fun to go inside the Contemporary. Your daughter will get a big kick out of seeing the Monorail run through the building. Plenty of food choices, way more varied than LTT. Characters are all over the place. There is opportunity to get professional photos taken which can be nice. It is very loud and very fun.

For me personally I would probably pick Liberty Tree. I happen to like it a tad better and so do my kids but they are 8 and 10 so they are older. I also like the different food at LTT. The buffets get kind of old for me after awhile and since you are doing two you might be ready for change. But basically you cannot go wrong. Maybe you should just flip a coin and be at peace with that!

Thanks for all your input! Although I still believe that Chef Mickey's would be fun, I am no longer entirely against LTT. I was just a little put off by the Stouffer's. I can get that from my local supermarket in the frozen food section. But the place seems to get rave reviews from DIS'ers, and thats more than enough proof for me! :teeth:

I did both of these last year. The LTT was excellent, sit down be waited on character dining. But at CM its loud but fun the food is alright (buffet) but its fun. Go to Lt for lunch and Cm for dinner. Actualloy Cm was our last dinner last year

Chef Mickey's was also the last meal we had at WDW as well, we did both Cm and Ltt on the last trip and nobody in our family liked Cm. It wasn't all bad but I have found that with Cm you either love it or hate it. For my family we totally based our experience on the food. For the price I felt like there just weren't enough choices, and the taste just wasn't there. The atmosphere and character interaction were great and we loved our portraits, but again, we didn't care for the food choices. At Ltt the atmosphere was a lot more relaxed and the food was brought to the table, the character interaction was wonderful, all of the characters stopped by our table at least twice and this was on a MNSSHP night. We really enjoyed the food and the characters. My vote goes to LTT I don't believe we will visit Chef Mickeys again, but others would disagree with me. Have a wonderful time anyways, and if you haven't thought about it Crystal Palace was also a nice restaurant and the food is good. HTH
