oh, wow, this is not good!! Tricia will be SO disappointed that no one was on here since yesterday morning!!

My laptop died yesterday shortly after I posted. (a sign???) hmm.

I have to get a new motherboard, which is under warranty. BUT I have to send it out to Circuit City which will take 2-3 weeks to get it repaired. In the meantime, I'm using my old laptop. All my shortcuts are gone, all my passwords & log-on's etc. yuck!!!!

Tucker is at the Groomers now, Dakota did very well! He's 15 lbs!!!! Chubawubs!!! and he got his distemper shot! All set for another year! Now, he's cuddled up with me so I can rub his tummy!

Chat with you chicks and gents later! Happy February vacation to those who have it this week!!

Morning. :)

It's a lovely day and I am stuck at work. We get very few holidays off around here. :guilty:

I hope you all had a nice weekend. It went fast but it wasn't bad. My mom has pneumonia (did I already mention that?) so I've been trying to take care of things for her. She was taking an online class and had her final 15 page paper due yesterday. Fortunately she was able to work on it a little while home last week and I just had to go in and clean it up a bit. At least it's done and the class is over! It was as hard on me as it was on her.

Have a good Monday!

Jeanny - yikes about the laptop!!

Sorry about your mom, Susan - hope she feels better soon, pneumonia is scary.

DMM glad the party went well!! Yayyy!!

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone. It's supposed to be 45 degrees here today!!! Much better than 18. :cool1:

Morning everyone

Fab -the weather today will feel like summer compared to what we've had. :rotfl:
How is everyone?

Did anyone have trouble getting on yesterday?

Morning.

I just got an e-card from a friend, expecting a Mardi Gras card but apparently it is Toothpick Day. So. . . Happy Toothpick Day everyone!

Hi Susan

I bet you want that for your desk.:thumbsup2
Better place your order before they sell out.

Howdy!

I’m sick today. I hate being sick. I have a few minutes until I can take medicine again, so the headache / double vision is acting up. Everybody else in the family has had this except me. I’m not running a fever so I think it’s just a cold (knocks wood – see below).

Our weekend was *interesting*. It was Cherie’s birthday on Sunday (yes, same day as the Daytona 500 – lucky girl). We had shipped the kids off to Nana & Papaw’s Saturday morning (they live about 45 minutes away from us). Both kids were acting fine. So Saturday night was supposed to be a date night for us – you know - get dressed up a bit & have some fun. We had an early dinner with StitchIsOurHero / StitchIsARedSoxFan planned, and then a movie. So we meet up at the restaurant. And got a call as appetizers were served, from Nana. Katie took an afternoon nap (rare for her) and when she woke up, she had a 103 degree fever. Saturday afternoon – 5:30, no open doctor offices, kids were an hour away from us, etc. Nana gave her some Advil to get the fever down, and we bolted down our food. Cherie called again as we were finishing eating – the fever was still real high (102). We left the restaurant, said our farewells to our buddies, and met Papaw & Katie at the emergency room. Where we stayed for about 3 ½ hours. It turned out to be strep. Papaw stayed with us, and then he drove the girls home while I went to get prescriptions filled. I got home about 11:30 and ‘camped out’ with Katie in the living room.

Please don’t let this be strep.

We headed down to Nana & Papaw’s Sunday, to celebrate Cherie’s birthday and to collect our other child. And watch the Daytona 500 (Cherie is actually a NASCAR fan too, so no complaints from her). Great race, although I was honestly rooting for Mark Martin to win. And I also have it TiVo’d at home to watch with Adam & Cherie on high def & surround sound (but we haven’t re-watched it yet).

I have a bad attitude about work today. I just don’t want to be here right now. I don’t feel that way very often, but there ya go. Of my three active projects – two of them (photog studio & advertising office) are very happy, and one (ice creamery shop) is incommunicado. The one that is incommunicado is OK (I think) – one of the shop’s partners was out of town until yesterday. I’ll try to get in touch with them tomorrow and see where we stand. So I have to start electrical & mechanical drawings on the photography studio. I’m so NOT looking forward to drawing them. It sounds like a job for tomorrow to me.

Thanks for checking out our website! We still have some tweaking to do, but those times don’t seem too bad to me. We are hosting it ourselves, and we only have the one server that does everything for us (both internal & external). We’re trying to determine if it’s a “Must Do Now!!!” decision or an “It’ll be nice in a few months” kind of thing. It either meant buying or building a dedicated website server, or external hosting - if it was too slow. Both would cost money, which I’d like to avoid over the next little while. It doesn’t seem to be that major of a deal though. I’ve been preaching to them about saving each photo with a little bit less display resolution, and this just gives me a bit more ammunition for that fight…

Yeah, that would be stylin next to the stapler! :lmao:

GD, I hope you feel better! I got lucky this year and was only down for 2 days with the cold. The remnants hung on for a week or so but I was fully functioning. Hope your daughter is better too!

Thanks! Here's hoping...

Check out what's coming soon from LEGO...

Big LEGO Millennium Falcon

I got this pre-order notification email last week, so now I'm starting to save up my lunch money toward it...

Wow! That's one big Lego set! And a little above (way above) what I would consider spending.

I've been spending way too much money on my neice and nephew lately. Shipping a decent size box to England is costing me over $40. I've got Easter and a birthday to cover soon.

:scared1: Yeah, the price is up there. I'm seriously trying to save up for it, but if I can't do that over the next few months I'll let it pass. I don't think I'll put my family into the ol' "Kids, eat your Ramen noodles good now so Daddy can get his big ol' LEGO set" without necessity, yaknowwhutImean?

I did think it through - that's just a little bit more than what Adam & I spend on our sets combined in a typical year. How sad is it that I've already done the math?

I havn't actually done anything with Lego's for a few years. I also haven't bought any Star Wars stuff for a while either. My interest in the "stuff" seems to be slowing down as I am consumed with too much of it. I have a shed full of collectibles. I used to buy 2 of everything, one to keep in the packaging, one to display open. I really need to just sell some of it and get it over with. :guilty:

Sounds like Collector-itis to me?

KAMommy has her scrapbooking... I have my LEGOs.

Unfortunately, that's pretty much the truth of it. We (KAMommy & I) have a $30/week allowance for lunch each. I'm a really cheap lunch eater, usually. It's not rare for me to keep the same $20 bill for a month or so, and just not pull out the rest of my 'lunch money' for weeks at a time. So, if I can keep tabs of my fundage and easily save between $10-$20 per week to put in my Falcon Fund(TM), I'm good to go.

And skipping a meal or two will help with the diet.

It's ALL good!:thumbsup2

That's why I'd be a terrible collector. I'd wake up one day and think How am I going to get RID of all this crap now??

Hope you have more energy tomorrow GD. Happy toothpick day.

We're at the very end of the second playdate of the day. The last one with this child ended badly within 30 minutes of arrival. :rolleyes1

Can you get your money back for that? You know:

30 minutes, Or it's free!

It took 2 months to score another playdate with that particular child. Not that *I* would have been sad to never see her again, but kids learn early that was is difficult to obtain is so much more coveted.

Kind of like that lego falcon thingy. ;)
