Checking in for Christmas Cruise question

Our check in for our Christmas cruise on the Wonder is coming up.
I am excited to start booking character meets.

Can you schedule the gingerbread house making online or do we still have to wait until we board?

We will be sailing on Christmas Day. I know there is a Santa meet that morning. Does anyone know if he is meeting guests before Christmas morning?

Anything else we should be booking ahead of time or be looking forward to?
I would love to hear about your Christmas Cruises or see more navigators (I am having a hard time finding Christmas Day ones especially for the Wonder). Share your story or post the link.

This is our 2nd Disney cruise. Our first one was in Alaska.

Thanks

That's too bad.
We will just reserve it first thing once we are on the ship.
Thanks
Yes, I was hoping it was there...I'll keep checking since perhaps it will be added closer to the cruise...we did it on our last MerryTime cruise and it was so fun and incredibly yummy

Unless things have changed, that is an activity that has to be booked onboard. It is a very popular activity so make sure you sign up once you board.
I'll also point out that the gingerbread house you make must be eaten (if that's your goal) before debarking the ship. You cannot take it off the ship at the end of the cruise.

Have not sailed exactly on Christmas day, but a previous Merrytime cruise did include multiple meet and greets with Santa.

I've got nothing to answer your question but just wanted to say have fun and enjoy your Christmas cruise! I want to do one of those so bad but can't unless I sell my restaurant. I wish you and your family a magical time :goodvibes

Thanks everyone.
We will also be celebrating 2 birthdays on this cruise, so it can s a pretty big deal for us.

I know you can't take the house off the ship.

I was just hoping that since you can now book some character meets online you would be able to book the gingerbread house making on line. That was kind of a pain having to run all over the ship the first hour or so making reservations for everything. But only having to do one thing won't be so bad.

We are in Nassau the day after Christmas (Boxing Day). So far, from the research I have done, 2 of the things we want to do are closed because of the holiday. We don't want to do any beach or water parks. So we might stay onboard and I am cool with that.

Thanks again for the information. Keep it coming

We did a Merrytime last year, and headed directly to Guest Services AS SOON AS WE BOARDED to get gingerbread tickets. Line was already long (we had a 10:30 PAT) but we got tickets. LOVED the activity! The gingerbread made our room smell fantastic and it tasted great, too. I highly recommend doing it!

If three of us want to make ONE gingerbread house, do we need 3 tickets or just 1?

Yes I was wondering the same thing . I will be on the Christmas cruise in November . I was a newbie last year and had no idea we had to get tickets

Merry Christmas everyone. We can't wait to join everyone on this cruise. It'll be here before we know it. I'm looking for others to join me in fish extender fun. I've been reading about how groups get made before the cruise and we make fun little treats to leave in your fish extender. A fish extender is a cute hanging pocket to place on your stateroom fish right next to your door. I'm all in and ready to make treats. If anyone one else knows more about this please let me know.

This thread is a generic question about checking in for a cruise (albeit about a Christmas cruise).

Don't know what Christmas cruise you are on, but if you're looking for others on it, you'd do better by heading over to the Cruise Meet board:
http://www.disboards.com/forums/disney-cruise-meets.85/

There you look for the "Find your 2016 (ship name) Cruise Meet LINK here" thread, and click on that. In the first post on that thread is a list of all the cruises that ship is making this year. Scroll down to yours and, if there's a link posted there, click on it.

Fish Extender gifts are not handed out randomly, you sign up on a list to be part of a group handing out gifts. I'll just mention, that there will be more FEs hanging up than just the ones specific to your group. Dropping off gifts without signing up on a list, won't get you gifts.

All sorts of group activities are discussed on the cruise meet thread, so head on over.

Thank you for the info. I do understand how it works.

We're on the Thanksgiving cruise on the Wonder and I've been trying to find this out too. I don't see anything in our booking page to schedule the gingerbread house event in advance. Would be great if we can have this done before we board!!

Currently, the Gingerbread house event isn't one of the things you can pre-book (like some of the meet & greets). You have to get the tickets once onboard.

Get your tickets when you board. We cruise every Christmas and last Christmas I registered as soon as I walked on-board. They gave me a ticket for the stateroom and we all attended. There have been years where I forgot to register, one year as Concierge, and it was an ordeal trying to get tickets once they were at capacity. They managed to fit us in due to a cancellation.

You can take it to your stateroom or eat it if you like too.

I see you've taken Alaska cruise with Disney. We're considering that for next year but have two young granddaughters (ages 4 and 2 next year). Wondering if we should wait for alaska until they're a bit older, how was your Alaska experience?
