Check in here if you won a OMDD trip! UPDATE: We HAVE 16 (+1) Winners!!

There are several threads on the boards that are over 300 pages. Especially in the Resort section.

Hm...I wonder if that's been changed recently then. I know a couple longer threads I used to follow would generally be closed around page 250 to start a new thread. Maybe that was just a voluntary thing though instead of a board policy.

Yes I am sure that would work. When I talked to my contact yesterday he said he didnt have the info on the hotel pricing for our additional nights, but we chose a value. But the rates listed on the form seemed more than fair and were cheaper than the special they are offering online for our dates of travel. It seems like they are pretty accommodating, I am sure if you told them what you could afford they could work it out for you.

Thanks! It will be fun to see what different resorts folks choose. :goodvibes

Have you seen the light up headboards? I want to stay at DLR just for those.

They are really cool! I've been looking at photos of DLH all night and I'm so excited now! Who needs the GCH...not me! LOL! :rotfl:

For the winners going to DLR... I would have been tempted by the GCH but I couldn't have lived with myself if I didn't do my best to get the Disneyland Hotel. I just think it looks like so much fun. I'm jello!

:)

Thanks guys. I'm over my disappointment now. I looked at the DLH website and at room pics, and it looks very cool. And, I also learned that even if you aren't staying at the GC, if you are a guest of any of the 3 hotels of DLR, you can enter CA thru the GC entrance.

I read on the Disneyland board that people have used Vons and it's free delivery over $50 for your first order. I checked out their website, but you have to register to see how much anything costs and I haven't had the time. Whatever the prices are, they have to be better than paying for water one bottle at a time at DL!

Man, this contest is killing me. I spend all day reading this thread and I'm supposed to be finishing a class! Thank goodness my husband's been out of town and can't see how much time I'm spending on the computer every day. :rotfl:

Thanks for the Von's info. I told my hubs about it, and he thought that was awesome. We like to take deli meats and cheeses for lunch, and he was happy when I told him we could order those from the deli for delivery.

What class are you taking? I'm taking a couple, and have homework I should be working on, but since I have this cold, all I really want to do is read this thread and watch my Tivo'd shows.

I didn't know you could do that...awesome!

I was a little concerned because the DL website doesn't mention a fridge in the rooms at DLH but I googled it and I think they do have one. I'm going to have to go over to the DL boards tomorrow and ask for sure.

I'm taking a class to get re-certified for my teaching certificate. With DH being in the military, I've followed him all over the place the past ten years so I haven't been able to teach. Between that and having two kids my teaching certificate expired. Our youngest son just started pre-K this year so I can finally go back to work. I'm just subbing at their school right now, but I'm so unmotivated to study with all this contest stuff going on. :rotfl:

That trip would be amazing! I entered that one too. I would soooooo pick that trip over the WDW trip. Just because we could probably never afford it otherwise and we have been to Disney so many times. I hope you win it! It would be a fantastic trip. :goodvibes

:rotfl:, In the end there can only be one,......................Me:rolleyes1

sorry arbolita, but this one has my name on it:lmao:

Congrats to all the winners! Is fun to read all of your trip planning!

Oh, I so wanted to win this... kids and I have been wanting to get out to DLR so badly. Still entering, but have totally given up hope of winning. :sad2:

And really, they could stick me in Paradise Pier - or a Good Neighbor hotel -really what does it matter? I could care less because it would be soooo awesome to win - and probably is the only way we'd be able to make it out to DLR, too, is if we were to win.

I know I'm not alone.... all of us non-winning Disers - wish we ALL could win!

Yep, I'm with you! I would stay in the Paradise Pier or any of the local hotels! Just winning would be awesome enough for me. Stay positive! :)

I think you could easily spend $1500 in a day if you wanted to! We're planning on ordering groceries and have them delivered to the hotel so we can eat breakfast in the room and take drinks and snacks with us to the parks. We'll probably do one or two character dinners and mostly counter service for the rest of our meals. I don't want to buy too much there because then we have to get it home, either in our suitcases (which will be full already) or mail them home. I really want to put the boys in childcare one night so DH and I can go to Napa Rose. He thinks it's a waste of money, but who cares...we're not paying! LOL!

If you can find another DISser while you are there, or if you can arrange something before you leave home with a DISser who will be arriving at the end of your trip, you could always give them whatever groceries you haven't used. On our very first trip, we came back to our room to find a box of drinks, ponchos, and a few other items sent to us by a DISser just a few doors down who was checking out. It was a wonderful surprise. We were blessed to receive the items and the person that left them for us didn't have to lug them home or throw them away.

Eeeee!!!! We got our initial itinerary from DL!!:banana::banana:
For those who care, we emailed our request early yesterday morning.

*We got our first-choice travel dates (early Dec.)

*Flying Alaska into Orange County (It does note that baggage fees are not covered as part of the prize. Good thing we travel light!)

*And staying at the Grand Californian Hotel (I cannot even begin to express how much this thrills me. Seriously. Once in a lifetime opportunity for us.)

I am. So. Stinkin. Excited.

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to keep this a secret from our boys until then - nine and a half loooooong months away.......

Congrats! We got our itinerary yesterday, also, and got first choice on everything which means we are staying at the Grand Californian. You are right, a once in a lifetime opportunity because we'd never be able to do it otherwise.

This is getting ridiculous. My doorbell just rang, unusual for 8:30 in the morning. I was in the kitchen and my first thought was "Fed Ex just brought my notice that I won OMDD!"

Of course, Fed Ex NEVER comes through my neighborhood before noon. And they NEVER ring the doorbell, only UPS does that around here. Still, that was what I was thinking as I went to the door -

only to find a nice guy from the gas company, informing me he had to change out my meter for a new digital one and I needed to shut off the furnace for about ten minutes.

So funny!!

Happy 18th birthday to your daughter!!!! I hope you get some extra magic with your entry today!! party:

Thanks to everyone who wished Kate a happy birthday! - she had a great day. Flowers from her boyfriend and she passed her drivers test!

(No Fed-Ex truck though...)

I'm so happy for all that got their itineraries. Sorry that some of you didn't get your first hotel choice.

I'm disappointed that there are no new winners.

Guess who just received their itinerary? Guess who got their FIRST choices on everything? Dates, flights and hotel... Grand Californian!

We got our itinerary. So bummed (don't know why, the trip is free), we got our dates, but we got the DLH. I guess I'm bummed because that's where we were planning on staying, so it would have been awesome to get the GC. I'll get over it.

I just got my itinerary as well! Boy, they've been busy today! :yay:

We got the dates we wanted (July 14-18) and the flights we wanted. We got the Disneyland Hotel as well Debby. I'm a tad bit disappointed it wasn't the GCH, but hey, it's free so I can't complain! My boys wanted to stay there anyway because of the cool monorail pool.

I even asked for a quote for extra nights and they were awesome to give me the military rates without me even asking! :thumbsup2

If anyone is interested, we're flying Delta from Atlanta to LAX. We're leaving early in the morning so hopefully we'll be at the hotel by noon!!! :woohoo: We're staying in California for an extra week and it was no problem to just tell them what day we wanted to fly home and they did it.

They're awesome!!! :cheer2:

So happy for you! Congrats!

Got my itinerary about an hour ago and we got first choice on everything we wanted; even got the flights that I asked for! We are going August 4-8 and staying at the Grand Californian. Flying non stop on Virgin American into and out of LAX. We are extending our California stay by 5 days to sight see since we have never been there before. They had no problem extending our stay and letting us choose our fly home date. :cool1:

That makes for an awesome birthday! My daughter just passed her driver's test last week. It has been nice to be distracted by this thread because that fact that she is on the roads and driving is stressing me out! :scared1:

That's a great idea. We'll be staying in California for another week in a condo with a kitchen so I'm sure we'll be needing all the food but maybe we'll have something else we can leave like ponchos or something. Thanks for the idea. :thumbsup2
