We've stayed at contemp tower and wings as well as 2bdr villa.
my opinion is it depends on how old your kids are with you. when my kids were little we spend more time in the room than when they got older. (naps etc. ) Also we took them out of school to go. So we spent time doing home work the extra room in the 2 bdrm was a life saver.

Cheap room. We are never in the room, and even when we've taken our 2yo dd, we don't go back for naps! When she's ready to nap, she does! Our trip to POP 2 wks ago, was the 1st trip that we actually had a free pool day! We are usually on the go from early to late every single day.
