DH had previously said he really really wanted to stay at the GCH in December. So when I was trying to book the Dec. stay with the AP7 rate, which was booking up fast, the conversation went something like this:

Me: Honey, the AP rates are out, they're pretty good, and I need to know for sure how long you want to stay, and how much you're willing to pay for a room.
DH: Just book whatever.

Me : Well, you said before you really really wanted to stay at the GCH, so at what price are you NOT wanting to stay there?
DH: Well, I don't know... How much is the rate?

Me: I don't know. The DLH rate is $159, and I know the GCH is much more expensive, but I don't know what the regular room rate is, and I don't know what the AP7 rate is for GCH. How much is too much?
DH: Well, just do what you want to do.

Me : OK... so how long do you want to stay there? I'm guessing no more than 5 work days and 5 school days for DS7...
DH: Well, no, he'd be OK to miss 6 days, like we've done before. I don't have a problem with that.

Me: OK, so I'll shoot for 6 weekdays.
DH: Let's do what we did before, fly in Friday, fly back Saturday. That worked out well.
Me: OK, that's fine.

Me, dialing: Wait! Don't leave!
DH: Why not?
Me: Because I still don't know what price you're willing to pay for GCH.
DH: It doesn't matter. Just do what you think is best. [He leaves.]
Me : Grrrrrrrr... Hi, I'd like to book a room with the AP7 rate...

Since I could only get 5 consecutive days at the AP7 rate and the rest would be considerably higher, I knew he would not be keen on the GCH at full price, so went ahead and booked at the DLH.

So how much do you want to bet on the trip he'll remark several times about how much he really really wants to stay at the GCH???

Oh Geez, they are all the same.

I've never been the kind of wife who does everything without my husband's knowledge and interest. Like I would never book a hotel that only I would like or a restaurant that only I would want to go to. I really want him involved and have a say in what we do. I have friends who plan everything and their husbands dont know til they get there and then usually a fight starts or they grumble about something. I will not do this.

It was the same when we were building our house. Picture this. Every detail of our house was done by me because he refused to talk about it thinking the deal would fall through or something. So we would go to the build site and he would ask why that outlet was placed there or even why is the house this way instead of reversed. GEESH, it was our house and you told me to do everything. HAVE AN OPINION ALREADY!

Funny thing is the only part of anything he has an opinion on is landscaping. Our yard, I cannot mention I dont like that tree or anything because its "his" deal. Even the hotels we stay at in WDW are his choice. Right now we are booked at the AS SPORTS just to save a few bucks since we are going for so long (I'm not paying $250/night for 12 nights) but if we do a split stay he wants a say in it due to the landscaping of the resort. He loves the Poly but he worked there so he doesnt want to stay there. I can totally understand that. It would be like going to work everytime he looked at a service door or something. So he likes POR and CBR too. I like WL and he would be willing to stay there just because its on the lake but other than that he really wants something tropical. OY!

Maybe Jake could be Jiminy Cricket, Morgan could be Pinocchio! I never really thought how the Blue Fairy is nearly the only female character in that movie! (Cleo the fish is female? Not sure about the cat.)

That is so cute! Would this be something you'd make? I'd be so intimidated by that pattern!

Nope. I would make the others but not this one. Thing is whoever is a wooden doll wouldnt have strings like pinocchio but I think thats ok since he would be the focus of it. We can take the strings off it becomes a pain in the parks and keep them for halloween here. He just isnt sold on it and thinks people will laugh at him. I think people will give him a lot of attention but that is equivilent to laughing in Jake's book.

Our other idea, since it will be so hot and muggy, will be to just go with an orange and black theme. Morgan and I will have matching orange and black polka dots (like Minnie) skirt with tulle sticking out of the bottom and all twirly and a cute top. It might even be a dress of all black and orange polkadots. The boys will have black shorts and orange tops with applique of Mickey on it either as a pirate or a pumpkin. Those would be the most practical but I know most people really dress up (at least they did when I went so long ago) and we are such huge fans of halloween that it would be fun.

I agree. It's not MY vacation, it's OUR vacation. If it were totally up to me, we'd stay at the GCH for the dates we could at the AP7 rate, and the DLH before that (a split hotel stay.) But he has this HUGE aversion to that. I don't think it's that big a deal, but he WILL NOT.

In fact, because our booking is actually 3 reservations that are tied together (the first few days are regular rate, then 5 days at AP7 rate, then final night at regular rate again), there is a slight chance that we'll have to change rooms. I am NOT even going to mention that to him, he will just have a cow, and chances are we'll be just fine anyway.

This isnt exactly what I had in mind for Morgan as a doll but something like this German style but puffier at the bottom. Maybe in Red and White. It would be really cute.

Sounds wonderful! Let me know if this is better than the over the counter tanners that are out there. I look ridiculous with a dark tan because of my strawberry blonde hair and freckles but a little tan would be nice. How long is it supposed to last?

Oh it's way better than the counter tanners because it's not an orangey color, it looks like a real tan. So far I'm loving it, it's getting darker and is supposed to for up to 8 hours. Its cool, you should do it. It lasts 5-10 days. But after 7 I can go back in for a touch up for just a few pounds which is cool.

Seriously now, wouldn't Jake look ADORABLE in this costume?

I'm really working hard on this theme but it all is based on him. If he doesnt go along with it we just look like idiots without the main character. Dh would be Gepetto, Either Morgan or I would be the Blue Fairy and the other would be a wooden doll too.

Yeah, me too. I think we would skip the makeup. I see what they are doing but I wouldn't be able to get it to look right.

Lunch is almost over. I wish I could get on here more often. I really don't have time now at work and the computer at home is so slow if its working at all. I really want to get a lap top. I'm taking 2 classes next semester and one of them is an online only class. I d ont know how this is going to work out if I can never get online. Oh well, I'll figure something out. Not in the best of moods at the moment..... my bf and I had the day off. We went to Ikea and I got a 3-drawer chest to put in my closet (it will hold all of my purses because I have no more room).

Well on the way home he mentioned he wanted to stop by the shoe store, I said okay and headed there. Then he kept asking where I wanted to go and I mentioned: "I thought we were going to the shoe store because you wanted to get something??" Then he goes: "Well, go wherever you want to go." UGHHH!!!!

Then there was a mustang that couldn't make up his mind as to which lane he wanted to drive in and I almost hit him trying to change lanes to get onto the freeway. Then my bf blames me and says I'm a terrible driver, blah blah blah. I told him I'm not a bad driver and he just kept b****ing about every little thing and I was getting annoyed. Well we get home and the chest drawer I bought weighs 65 lbs. I took it out of my car myself and I was pissed that he didn't help me. He said he was going to help me and wanted to put his stuff down first and I didn't believe him.

Well we ended up arguing and he grabbed his stuff and took off. My guess is that he went to a movie and then will head to his motorcycle class which is from 6pm-9:30pm.

Ugh, I'm just really annoyed. I cleaned out one of the cupboards in the garage and played Diablo II (I'm at the very end of the game it's hard as heck). I think I just need a nap or something.

Pix, sorry to hear you are having a bad night....it will be ok...when he is finished with his tantrum he will be back and probably act like nothing is wrong...thats how they do it...they seem to get over it quicker than we do

First of all..

Nice to meet you 2 goofy4u, Ali's sister. I hope you are doing OK!

Christina, I did a spray on tan once. But it was pretty high tech, i guess you could say. It was like in a shower stall, and a machine sprayed it on. The nozzle went up and down to cover my whole body, and then I had to turn around to do my back. So unless there was a hidden camera, no one else saw my girls.

I'm leaving tomorrow for our camping trip. Too bad you can't go Megan. I know how much you want too.
