Fresh from a great trip to WDW, I noticed some hints from Chase as of late that they're gearing up to launch a Disney Rewards Visa debit card (not a credit card-we all know that they have that already). No word on whether the card will have an annual fee or if the card will give out Disney Dream Dollars for signature purchases, PIN purchases, or both, but it looks like the debit card will have the same Disney Rewards program as the credit card.
When I think about it, the card makes more sense than ever: Thanks to the recent buyout of WaMu, Chase now has access to California and Florida, two markets where there's obviously a lot of Disney fans. (Chase already had access to the "snowbird" markets of New York and Chicago, among others.) And many people prefer debit cards, plus the Disney Rewards credit card is one of Chase's most popular credit cards, so a Disney Rewards debit card is a natural fit. (Chase already offers fee-based United Airlines and Continental Airlines debit cards and offers a free debit rewards program to its checking customers, so rewards debit cards are nothing new to them.)
Still, here's a question for all you mouseaholics: Would a Disney Rewards debit card seriously make you consider a switch to Chase for your banking, or are you too attached to your current bank/credit union?
