is it possible to take a selfie with your phone while interacting with your character while the photographer takes the photo pass and with your camera photos?

will characters do it? i mean I'm sure they will make you try and explain what the thing is but i think it could be cool

anyone ever tried?

Yup. I've done it. Some call it different things than a selfie. Ariel calls it a "shellfie"

It's Disney! No one there will think twice about it. We all do things at WDW that we might not do elsewhere. Disney trips are the time to let your hair down and have fun. My kids are usually the ones that are embarrassed. Not by the characters but by me. I'm always talking to the characters, the cast members, random people in lines, whoever and dancing at the parades. I like to get into the spirit at Disney! I'm not worried about it. I probably will never see any of these people again except maybe at Disney next year. So don't worry a bit about it and have fun!

Thank you! I really like hearing all of that! You're right of course disney is a place to be the kid you are inside! I'm really wanting to start interacting with the charachters and everyone really so not to get the stiff posed shots!

That's what I always forget when returning to reality lol for majority part ppl are so much nicer in disney!

yep, selfies are totally possible.

The last few trips I've done where we've met characters, I've done them. The really good photopass photographers will also shoot pics of you doing it!! (the more pics they take, and the more unique they are, the more likely you'll "buy" -- tho the whole memory maker thing blows that up... anyways!)

Yes! they even suggest them if you are on your own and don't have someone to take the pic for you!

My adult DD and DS both get selfies with the characters (some of our best pictures too ) and they seem to love it. Remember that most of these characters are from the "selfie generation."

Last trip we were at the MNSSHP and my DS went to get a selfie with the Mad Hatter. He took one picture and then was taking a second when .... all of sudden there was this blur of blue going by and as he took the picture - Alice had RUN in and photobombed them. The pink flash you see in his photo was the PhotoPass Photographer taking it at the same time and it flashed on his photo. I happened to also take a picture as it was happening. (on left). She was adorable!!

There was a guy, Mark, who was a friend of Jess' (the college program trip report that took on a life of its own last year) who did it all through his college program. He has tons of character selfies on his Instagram.

I have an awesome selfie of Pluto and I. We were at a character meal and my DH had gotten up for more food or the restroom or something and Pluto came over just then. It's really just his big nose right up in the camera and my face in the background but I love it. Pluto and I had a good laugh.

My kids did lots of selfies withe characters. My fav was with magician Mickey and Sophia. And the photographers even took pics of them doing selfies. Was really cool.

I'm a guy didn't do selfies. But did take a pic alone with Cinderella and sorcerer Mickey. He's me and my family favorite

i don't think you need to explain what a selfie is, even mickey knows what it is. i was early one day at DL waiting for family and just happened to see Mickey with no handler. being alone, selfie was my quickest option for a pic as you can see from my profile pic

Great question.. I was wondering this myself! Would be so much easier than handing the phone off!
