Character Meal at Portofino Bay

Is there a character meal at this hotel.. If so has anyone been and how was it? Another question, If we leave the park to go to Portofina Hotel how do we get back to Royal Pacific Hotel>

I called today and they said they have characters on friday night at this hotel, and they have characters at the other hotels as well on different nights.. Has anyone been to this character meals.??? I forgot to ask what kind of food they serve.. I think the one at this hotel serves Italian.. which is not our favorite... I was hoping it was a buffett,.. does anyone know>>> THANKS!!

I went all the way back and read about the chacter meals at the resorts, seems like they suck... Nothing like disney.. It seems they are never crowed an dthey only have 2 characters that show up.. doesn't sound like fun... So I guess I will not be taking my kids to other hotels for dinner...
What would be a good place to have dinner with a 8,and 4 year old?? Anyone know// thanks!!!!
