Change Park Opening Time Last Minute? Help

Hi - trying to plan our trip with PPO reservations but have heard park opening / rope drop time can be moved from 9 a.m. to 8 a.m. When does Disney and confirm (for certain) the hours for a given day... will they do this last minute or is it usually set by a certain time (like 2 months in advance)? Currently, MK is posted as a 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. day (no EMH). Thanks!

Park hours can be extended at anytime there is no "for certain"

I have a PPO reservation at Be Our Guest for this coming Monday. Park is still scheduled to open at 9am as of now, but all of the MK weekdays this week had the opening changed to 8am. *sigh* So I've been checking obsessively to see if the hours change, but based on my previous experience it can really happen at anytime.

Trying to think of it as a win/win... If hours don't get extended, PPO BOG breakfast and (hopefully) early access to 7DMT. If hours DO get extended, well... that's an extra hour of park time and I don't have to pay the for (very expensive) breakfast.

That's how I have to frame it so I don't drive myself crazy.

When are you going? People would be able to give you a better idea of if it will happen or not. I mean, we can't be 100% in our guesses, but there are some times of the year this is more likely to happen then others.

That all said, I went in October (week after the holiday weekend) and they opened MK early once or twice that week and only announced it a day or two in advance.

I can't speak for park opening, but I know that I've seen park closing times extended within a few days of it happening.

Hours are pretty concretely set 30-45 days out. However their always subject to change. You'll need to keep checking closer to your trip.

They can and have changed hours less than 24 hours out

Usually they are pretty close within a month out. They can change at anytime though so I'd never consider anytime certain.

Definitely check within your 30 day window. We set our rope drop plans and then the EMH at MK moved dates around. We were the first people in line . Weren't the only people caught off guard, but it was avoidable.
