Thinking of spending just 1 or 2 nights when we return to WDW April 14-27. Any advice or suggestions ? Kids are 10 and 12. Are there activities, etc. Have never been and could use all input TIA :sunny:

Vero is the place to go if you want to RELAX. :teeth: It's a lovely resort with a great beach, nice pool and beautiful grounds. There are activities for the kids, and some you may enjoy too. There is very little in the surrounding area. Disney's Vero Beach resort is on Orchid Island, not in Vero Beach proper. It is a residential area. Hence the peace and quiet, and lack of immediately available activities.

So, if you like to swim in the ocean, stroll the beach, enjoy the pool, and generally just take it easy, Vero is the place for you!

Some of the resort activities are miniature golf, bike riding, marshmallow roasts in the evenings, swim lessons, and seasonal activities (turtle watching, etc.).

If you're considering going during that time, I'd book a reservation ASAP. It's always easier to cancel than book. That's a very popular time for Vero and many schools in the Northeast will also be on vacation.

Pam is right, book now.

The resort provides daily activities for kids & adults with the best CMs of all the resorts. The turtle nesting season is March thru June so you will approaching peak time. The resort has organized searches lead by a naturalist (night time), but this is popular and the attending group is selected by lottery. Still if you don't get selected you can venture out on your own to walk/search the beach.

They have a nice pool & Lighthouse w/spiral waterslide, a REALLY cool water play area for the real young kids, a hot Jacuzzi, miniature golf, exercise room, ping pong, bike rentals, The Green Cabin Room (bar/restaurant) has 2nd floor covered deck that has a fantastic view of the ocean and is a nice place to relax with your favorite beverage. It also has live entertainment in the evenings. Some nights they have a campfire / s’more roast (bring the Cutter Advanced to fend off the No-see-ums). You can rent a small catamaran or jet-ski for ocean fun (water might be to cool yet). Across the street they have a lake, picnic tables, nature trail, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Disney built a private tunnel under the road to access this area. And of course they have the ocean and great waves for boogy boarding. Everything from the ocean to the pool to your room is no more than 2 minutes away walking. So it is real easy to break up your day

Five minutes away is Pelican Island and a wildlife education center. Also minutes away is Sebastian Inlet were the Indian River meets the ocean. There are many good fishing spots around the inlet, and there are river excursions where you can see dolphins, manatee, and tons of other types of wildlife. About an hour away is Cape Canaveral, (where the Magic and Wonder dock), the Kennedy Space Center (with museums, tours, and shows), and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge with walking and driving tours.

Have a great time. :beach:
