my DD is gettting married 8-05-06 and wants the 6 of us to go to the WORLD!! (Ive always wanted to go with my kids on their honeymoon!!! :rotfl2: ) 3 separated rooms of course!!

it would be DH myself, DS and DDIL and the newlyweds!!!

we would arrive on 7th and stay till the 13th I know the southern schools go back more towards the end of Aug but when do the crowds start clearing out even a bit would be nice!!

or is this to early to start thinking of lesser crowds!!

My oldest DD is 18 and a college freshman. She has said since she was about 4 that she wanted to get married at WDW. All her friends tease her about it (good naturedly). I've just never thought about being around on the honeymoon!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

any one else with any thoughts or ideas on this idea of going the second week in Aug.

thanks

Crowds may be somewhat less. We live on the gulf coast of Florida and our schools start back August 7th next year. I think we start back earlier than many school districts so you should probably still expect some crowds. Also, be aware that the weather will be very hot and sticky which may slow you down even if the crowds don't! Go prepared for what to expect and you'll have a great time!

I'm also going down around that time, and I heard that it will still be busy, and still very hot. Definitely use Fastpass and hit the more popular ride first thing in the morning. Then do the less popular rides throughout the day.

The crowds probably won't be as bad as June or July, since some schools will be back in school, but it will still be significant.

The Ultimate Guide online has the crowd level at 8 and 9 with a rare 7 here and there. This is on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 the highest. We haven't been during that time for a long time now, but when we went it was hot, humid and crowded. Definitely still fun, but had to take breaks and drink lots of water.

we went last year this same week in August. It was HOT, but I was worried to death about crowds, but it really wasen't that bad. We just followed our plan, park openings, FP, and crowds were a non issue. We did skip the EMH's except 1 night for MK, and it wasen't outragoueous crazy busy.

have fun! :Pinkbounc

I just had to say WOW! I hope that when my kids are big, i'm as lucky as you and they still want to hang around us! (AND at WDW!!) you're a very, very lucky mom!! :goodvibes congrats and enjoy!!

I've read that august is the better of the summer months as far as crowds, but more like the last 2 weeks.

and it certainly is hot out... but if you avoid the parks mid-day and swim or stay inside then, it's not a big deal. the mornings and nighttime is AWESOME for weather! shorts and tanks at 11pm in the parks... i LOVE that!

for the nice comments--

my ds is 24 and married to a wonderful girl--we are so happy to have her as a DIL!!

and DD is 21 and our soon to be SIL is equally wonderful

its funny how all of a sudden as the kids get older theyre your best friend

we always have so much fun with them-- :grouphug:

thanks also for the advice on our 6 person honeymoon!! this should be fun

Our last two trips were in August. As another poster said, it is hot, and humid, and it rains a lot. Crowds were so-so, but hours are extended into the night, which is great for adults! We went back to the room nearly every afternoon to cool down, freshen up, etc. Went swimming in the pool, did a tiny bit of laundry, took a nap...

Have a great time!

I went around that time this past August. It was HOT, but do-able. As long as we got to the parks when they opened, we were able to do and see everything we wanted. We would usually take showers in the afternoon and go back out at night.
