I'm planning a trip to WDW 12/6-12/12/08. I'm already booked at SSR, but would like to switch at the 7 month to Boardwalk - either 1 or 2 bedroom. What are my chances?

I just switched to BWV from AKV at the 7 month mark going day by day to get a value studio and was able to get it switched for 9/6-9/10. I would advice calling day by day and call at 9am on the dot. Good Luck!!!

DEFINATELY CALL DAY BY DAY AND TELL MS WHAT YOU WANT THEY WILL MAKE A NOTE OF IT I DONT KNOW IF IT HELPS BUT I GOT BEACH CLUB AT 7 MNTHS.!!:cool1:

The dates you want will be pretty tough to get. Your best chance will be a preferred view 1 bedroom. As everyone else has suggested, call right at 7 months, day-by-day. You never know what may be available. Good luck!

I called exactly 7 months out and got Boardwalk view for the end of aug for 2 weeks. I was surprised boardwalk view was available for that long.

The first 2 weeks of December is very popular for BWV. Much more popular than August or September. I think I heard that the first week of December is already soldout at BWV.

I'm a newbie. Why would a one bedroom be easier to get than a studio? Aren't 1 bedrooms more preferable than a studio? Also wouldn't preferred be harder to get?

Studios and 1 Bedrooms both sleep 4, but 1 Bedrooms cost a lot more points, therefore a higher demand for Studios.

Of course once my wife stayed in a 1 bedroom, she doesn't care much about saving points! :rotfl2:

Preferred/BWV and Standard view rooms are hard to get because there is a very limited number of them. Preferred/Pool-Garden view rooms are the majority and easiest to book (and require the same number of points as the BW view rooms). It is sometimes possible to book any of these rooms at 7 months if you do not book during a busy DVC season, but during popular times it is often only the Preferred/Pool-Garden view rooms that are still available at 7 months.
