Certainly it's censorship. But so what?
Maybe Pete would give us back the DB if we promised to devote 65% of the debates to Disney related material. That's not censorship. Or so I've heard.

When you're in someone else's house you play by their rules.

The DB was ruined by a few posters who consistantly took things too far. All Liberals are not idiots. All conservatives are not morons. Anything taken to the extreme is not good.

It may be freedom of speech but nothing guarantees anyone that right on an internet board. The DB always had the potential to get out of control if not closely monitored. It used to be very closely monitored. I'm sad to see it go to but honestly, I didn't frequent it as much as I used to.

Lastly, I do find the tone the CB has taken today to be quite childish. People worried that they may have to see some mean spirited thread that a DB person has poisoned the Pixie Dust pond with. Heaven forbid that we have to play with those guys from the wrong side of the tracks

What's just as bad is the few DBers who are swamping the CB with debates so "you can show them" what a mistake they've made.

As I said earlier, IMO, everyone should just grow up and get over it or move on.

Wow, I must be really naive. I thought they were posting those debates because they had a topic to discuss and had been told that this was the place to do it. Perhaps the debate topics are not exactly the same kind as would have been posted on the DB, but I thought posters were simply going slow, trying to stay within the guidelines.

Really? See I would have to take a look at each poster's history. For example, how many debate threads did someone start, say, in the last week or two on the DB versus how many debate threads have they started on the CB in the last 24 hours or so? If the answers are zero and about 8 and that poster is one of the more vocal critics of the DB being closed then, well it's just strange is all.
Or how about a debate that's started as "lighthearted" that contains many debates inside a debate that certainly appears to be "just to show them". I guess it could just be pompous and narcissistic though.

Then again it may be me that's naive.

Yep that would be me Richie starting the debate threads and yes I have started my fair share of threads on the DB to some of them stayed around some didn't get much action so what is your point? This is now where we get to debate so I am bringing over a couple threads that were moving along quite well I would have brought over the entire thread but 6 pages or whatever it was was to much copy and pasting for that.

quite simply because it's not being shut down to quieten a subject or topic that the administrators have a particular view on.

Complaining? Lanshark posted she was of the opinion that many of the debates recently posted on the CB were of the "I'll show them their mistake and swamp the CB with debates" (paraphrased for brevity) variety. faithinkarma then replied "I just don't see it" (paraphrased for brevity). I then posted some evidence that seemed "just strange". That's complaining? Well then color me red and call me strawberry jam. I guess I'm guilty as charged.

Nope not censorship at all. I wouldn't allow certain things to be spoken in my house, my car, etc. Someone owns the board, it isn't public property. Even the security guards in the mall will throw someone out who is verbally attacking another guest.

I'll ask DH his opinion just to make sure I have the facts straight. I'll post a link to pictures of stretch marks and c-section scars from my two pregnancy just so everyone know I only deal in facts.

I have to admit I have made the same mistake several times, once just a few days ago with another Disser. I am just really bad at determining gender. I once chatted with someone for months believing "him" to be a woman. Now in fairness, his screen name was BESS. Imagine the shock we both felt when I realized he was a HE and he realized I thought he was a SHE.
