Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

Here's hoping they do make it and things stay as planned. :thumbsup2

We can only hope... :rolleyes1

That's such a cute smiley!

And yes, he really is! :thumbsup2

Thanks - I went smilie hunting a couple weeks ago. :thumbsup2

You are the queen of changes Amy, it's so awesome you are able to "roll with it all"!! I like the sound of a totally Magic Kingdom filled day!!!

Ooooo.. the Queen! What else can I do but roll with it? :confused3 Hopefully our MK day will stay as planned.

I thought I'd share a little story about my car. We got my minivan at the end of 2008. It was a 2007 that they still had around, but it was brand new with only 50 miles or so on it so we got a great deal. :thumbsup2 I have had problems with this car from day one! (It’s a Kia, not a Toyota ;)). The biggest problem has been that water leaks into the rear compartment. I noticed moisture once in a while last summer, but I thought it was moisture from the humidity & AC, or something wet from the beach, or bottled water that had spilled, etc. Then mold was growing in my car! :scared1: I took it in four times last fall and they replaced the seal around the door the first/second visit, “couldn’t duplicate” the problem at the third visit & put down pads to absorb the moisture at the fourth visit – hoping to figure out where the leak was coming from. Then winter came and it stopped. Well spring came and as you know, it’s rained quite a bit here recently. After the big wind/rain storm that caused us to lose power, the rear cargo area was SOAKED! I brought it in again and they sealed some seam. The very next rain storm it was wet again! And it's pretty much rained every Monday/Tuesday since, with the same result.

Now I have filed a claim with the NH Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board under the lemon law requesting a new car. The board accepted my case because I have attempted more than three times to have the same problem repaired. What does this have to do with Disney? The hearing was supposed to be April 27th. Luckily they are going to reschedule it for May 13th, which will also give a little more time to determine whether or not their “final repair” was successful.

It rained again, A LOT, over the last day or so & my car STINKS! :headache: Every time we have a nice day I leave the back of the van open to air out, but I haven’t had a chance because it was cold between the last two rain storms. Last week we actually had some snowflakes!

Today my car is finally at Kia. They have one last chance to repair the problem before the hearing in May. I expect to have my car back tomorrow night or Thursday. That should give me plenty of time to determine if it's finally fixed or not. Honestly I hope they can't fix it because I've had a bunch of other problems with the car too... brakes, a different leak, suspension problems twice, battery problems twice and a bunch of little things too.

I'll keep you posted!

Sorry to hear about your car!:sad2: I hope they can fix it for you!! UGH! I'm sure it's the last thing you want to deal with this close to Disney!!

Wow Amy. It sounds like you did get a lemon with that Kia!!:scared1: I hope for your sake they don't fix it & you can get a new one. Seems like you've had lots of problems with it-not just the leak.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!!! I better not hear of any droughts this summer. Jeesh is it ever going to stop?? Hopefully we will have nice sunny 85 degree weather for our trips:) It actually might get up to 80 here this weekend. I couldn't believe it when the news showed the extended forecast.

Glad to hear you will be spending time with family. Hopefully it all works out great for you. It sounds like you have it all under control!!:thumbsup2

one month from today we leave!!

Hi Doreen! The extended weather forecast for this weekend is getting me through this rain! Luckily we didn't have any afterschool activities planned for yesterday or today so we can hang out at home in sweatpants! :thumbsup2

Easter will be gorgeous - you never know if there will be sun or snow! I'm looking forward to a nice outdoor egg hunt!

I'm glad I'm not at Disney today... I just read that MK is closed because it's at capacity! 45 minute wait for It's a Small World! 120+ (that's the highest my wait times app goes) at Space Mountain! The other parks aren't much better! :scared1: That's why we won't be going in April next year - our break starts Easter weekend!

I hope they can't! I want a new car!

 Oops, I guess I missed that last little part.:rolleyes1 Hopefully, you get your new car!!!!! We bought a van a few years ago and within a month after purchasing it we had numerous problems with it. We went back to the dealership and told them we were going to file a claim because they sold us a lemon and they ended up taking the the van back and found another one for us around the same price.

I hope everything works out!!!:goodvibes

Car problems are such a pain. :headache: I really hope this all works out the way you want it to. What an inconvenience...and health hazard too with all the mold....to have a soggy car all the time!

That Kia is more like a 9 pound lemon from the Land pavilion!

Uh oh!! Sounds like a lemon to me. Maybe you'll get a brand new spankin' minivan for all of the hassle. ;)

So sorry to hear all the issue with your Kia, I hope you get a different vehicle out of this, that is way too much aggravation.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know that Toyotas are getting a bad rap right now, but can't beat them most of the time....

Do you get money towards a new car or do you have to get another KIA....?

Eeeeee GADS!!! :scared1: crowds over spring break seem to be the absolute worst sized crowds! Good luck with the car situation!

Just a few more weeks, right??!!!

I'm glad your car problem was easily fixed!

The mold really grosses me out! I'm ready to cut the carpet & padding out myself! :headache:

I really hope so... but at the bare minimum, my problem will be solved this week.

Huge pain in the you know what! But at least we'll have some sort of resolution soon.

Yikes! That totally stinks about your car! But you're a trooper for letting them do the same thing 3 times! I hope it all gets fixed ASAP for you!

New Car! New Car! New Car! :car:

Sending pixiedust (in lieu of Febreeze!) pixiedust:

:rotfl2: Thanks Kathy!!

Ironically the rental car they gave me is a Toyota! I hope it doesn't speed off with me in it!

We had a choice of whether to request a refund or a replacement. Kia's are usually dependable (according to reviews online) and have a great warranty, plus we got a fantastic deal on ours, so we opted for the replacement.

Eeeeee GADS!!! :scared1: crowds over spring break seem to be the absolute worst sized crowds! Good luck with the car situation!

Thanks!! Three weeks from tomorrow! Hopefully the crazy crowds will be gone by then.

Ugh about the car!!! I hope that situation gets resolved soon!!!

Thanks Jackie! One way or another, I should know something soon!

Eek! We have a 2005 Kia Sedona and (knock on wood) has been good to us. Hope everything works out. :thumbsup2

All of the reviews say they are very reliable... Even the lady at the Arbitration Board said she never gets complaints about Kias. :confused3

:rotfl2: "That stinks!" :rotfl: It really does! :lmao:

I didn't have much choice... Today is actually the 6th time it's been in for this problem! I had to have it in three times before I could file the complaint. I was nice and gave them four.

Hahahahahaha! I didn't even realize I said that... and then it really does literally stink! :rotfl2:

6 times?! Geeeeez. Something good better come out of all of this for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed tight!
