Celebrating Easter 2011 on the Magic

We were on the Disney Magic last year for Easter too. On Easter morning we got to have breakfast with the characters and all of the restaurants had some Easter type decorations. The pictures, etc. all had Easter identified too. You can also get an Easter basket delivered and they did receive some Easter candy. We had such a great time we wanted to go again. This time with my parents.

We are very excited!!!

:earsgirl::earsgirl::earsgirl:I just found out about the fish extender and we would love to participate, me, DH, DS5, and DS5.

I am excited to hear they have special Easter breakfast plans - I just realized I will need to do a little basket or something since my kids still believe in the easter bunny. On our first cruise I surprised the kids with little "packages" when they arrived to cabin - I brought a stuffed Minnie or Mickey plus Disney jammies and little toys. Cheaper than ordering but wonder if I should just use the perfect gift place (Shirley's baskets) - does anyone have experience with that company?

DH, DD9 and I will be on our first cruise ever! We are excited and I've enjoyed reading your posts. Still trying to figure out fish extenders before we can commit to participate. Can't make any reservations until 2/7 but am trying to decide on Palo night and excursions.

We've requested late dinner seating, are booked in a verandah room on deck 6, have airfare booked and am planning to bring my own wine on board.

That's all I know so far!

My two big concerns are
1). DD is lactose intolerant and needs lactose-free milk but does not like soy milk. Is soy milk the only accommodation or does DCL have lactose-free milk too?

2). How will the Easter Bunny find us? We usually do an egg hunt at home. It's a small room for an egg hunt on board! :goodvibes.

So now for FE exchange we are:

mlemmons DS 13, DD 11, DD 8
mlemmons sil DD 6, DS 4
queenbee99 DD 7
Griffith6 DD 10, DD 8, DD 6, DS 4
pixieprincessmom DD 15, DS 13, DD 10
kandc DS5, DS5

For Easter I am thinking beach toys, goggles, bathing suits, hats, etc. in a beach bag with just a little candy. Will try to make sure to find things that will fold flat.

I was wondering how rebooking on board works. This will be our first cruise, but we'd be interested in cruising to the mediteranean in 2013. Can we book for 2012 and then change the dates? will we loose any money?

If you rebook on the cruise you get $200-$250 shipboard credit with your next cruise. You can select dates and then later change them if you want. It's great! Some times they even give a 10% discount.

For FE I plan to do 1 family gift and then something for each of the kids. Different groups/people do different things. Doesn't matter to me what others do.

I am curious about this....was the character breakfast the one you get already and it just happened to be on Easter? I requested PLA rotation and from what I read, if you have Parrot's for your starting restaurant then you have your character breakfast on that Sunday which would be Easter. Did you only have that one breakfast or did you get two? I don't know if this makes any sense. LOL But if everyone gets to do the Easter breakfast do the people who were going to get the one on Sunday get to go to a different one?

I just realized we will be on board for THE wedding...Prince William and Kate...do you think that we will be able to watch it somewhere?

We are driving in Friday and thought we would go to DDD and stay the night and drive in the morning to PC....How much is it for Country to stay and park there?
We booked under 2 flags in st. Martin and trunk bay snorkel in st. Thomas. Both through Disney. Kids are not really into snorkeling and dd14 wanted to see the French side on St. Martin so just booked the sightseeing. DH really wants to snorkel so Trunk bay for him. DD14 already has a list of things that if she sees them she is out of the water, but they all agreed to try snorkeling. We picked up snorkel sets at academy at the end of summer and they tried them in the pool (DD10 also uses hers in the bathtub!).

I need to book a hotel at the port. For the price to park at the port we can stay the night before and park. Read about breakin at cars at the Radisson lately so I'm thinking Country Inn and Suites. Will try to book today.

Can't believe only 5 families for FE. Was hoping for a little larger group. My dd's are really excited about it and have plans to make a few things (sorry if they don't turn out so great).

Just wanted to say a quick hello. Ill be booking this cruise on 2/15 and will be taking both my littles with me DS-9 and DS-6. Im coming home from Iraq for a three week R & R and to spend some quality time with my boys. This is my first time taking a cruise any special tips or recomendations would be much appreciated!!! :woohoo:

I paid 159.00 fir country i&s. It was cheaper just a few weeks before and I could kick myself for not booking. Being Easter weekend I should have know it would go up. Parking is free and shuttle to the port is free so with the $20 a night the port charges it's a good deal.

Years ago some dissers came up with the idea to do a kind of gift exchange with others on the same cruise. Outside the cabins is a fish that is there for the crew to leave messages. They made a sort of bag with pockets to hang from them and called them fish extenders.

We did this with small group on our first cruise and my kids loved coming back to the room and having a little surprise. We have 12 to 15 families and it was fun. I have seen Threads of huge groups on some cruises and can't even imagine delivering things to all those rooms. Some people get really elaborate and some really simple.

Thanks, PixiePrincessMom, for coordinating our FE group. It is a fun and special memory from the cruise. My kids still talk about how fun it was to run back to the cabin to see if a surprise awaited them on our first cruise. We are excited to do it again. Hard to believe the cruise will be here in just about 2 months!! Woo hoo!
