That's interesting but why aren't they? They don’t even vaccinate chicken pox many places including UK.

Uh, the independent experts DON'T say the Max 8 is safe. Boeing is the only one saying that...
Would you be comfortable flying in it once they DO say it's safe?
If a panel of independent experts certifies it as safe, yes. If the experts have financial ties to Boeing, probably not.
But you wouldn't trust a covid vaccine approved by independent experts.
I wonder when these two thirds will deem it safe to take? What will be the trigger? A year, 5? By then the economy will be in the toilet whilst other countries take advantage of the US economy.
This comment would be laughable if it was not so scary:
I feel like their testing is a trial and error," Dew said. "And I also feel that they don’t really know all that much about this virus, so how can they create a cure for it just yet?”
You may be confusing me with someone else. I am ALL for whatever Covid vaccine gets approved. I'd be first in line if I was eligible for the first round.
My apologies! I rescind my comment. You are absolutely right.
(Please- let's never speak of this again).
Not a big deal. Their tails are tiny. Nobody will notice.J&J has one that works for hamsters. Let’s hope this one doesn’t get rushed. I don’t want to grow a tail.
So in Germany I know years ago a Drs. commission came out more against. As newest studies showed that the immunization for chicken pox at some point dies off..( basically the vacccine is not so good anyways)That's interesting but why aren't they?

So the risk as an adult who had the chicken pox vacciine is higher for shingles vs an adult who has chicken pox. ( I guess the antibodies from having chicken pox are longer lasting than the vaccine).
Before the vaccine there was a cycle... As a child you got it, got the antibodies,, lasted until adulthood, then as an adult ( most likely parent) you were exposed to a child who had chicken pox,, your body then recognizes this and antibodies are givenn a "booster". So as an adult you didnt get shingles. Same cycle pertains to pregnant women... as most have had it a child, no risk... I think common thought is why break the cycle that protects adults.
Also culturally its viewed often as a vanity vaccine... Keeps your kids in school and avoids the inconvience of itching, possible scarring and a light fever.. Sure less than 1 % has a worse outcome but its so minimal....
I see your confusion. I'm not saying anyone is saying it's safe now. But when it IS allowed to return to flying passengers, I bet there are many who say they'd be first in line for a covid vaccine say "let's wait a couple flights and make sure everything is worked out."Uh, the independent experts DON'T say the Max 8 is safe. I am not the expert but I think it’s the being exposed again to the pox as an adult ( being near kids with it ) protects against shingles. That part about shingles doesn't make sense. My grandfather got shingles like 35 years ago, way before there was a vaccine, and it has always been "a thing" that elderly people are susceptible to. There is now a shingles vaccine.

But anyways for years in Germany the number of chicken pox vaccines have gone down. Mothers I know don’t do it anymore. I didn’t have time to decide as oth my kids got it early in kindergarten and my Ped never pushed it. He just had flyers in his waiting area and never discussed it.
I'm a physician and VERY pro-vaccine. I worry about rushed trials. There is a long list of medications that seemed safe in small numbers that ended up causing permanent harm when given across the population. This is a new style of vaccine and can't be compared to others currently out there. Other coronavirus vaccines have not been effective, though admittedly the funding was not there to really push the research. Because of that, we don't have, to my knowledge, any good data on risks in a larger population.
Sadly, after the last couple of months, I'm not sure I trust the CDC to have my best interests at heart. It seems it's been bowing to political pressure from a very anti-science administration, making then retracting (after outcry from the scientific community) statements regarding Covid and treatment. That does not make me confident in their recommendations. I'm also sure the Pfizer would gladly make money off of a vaccine that was rushed. Mea culpa later, "hey, you told me to rush it and skip the usual steps, unusual circumstances, yada, yada."
I'll be keeping a keen eye on medical journals, and will be interested to see what Dr. Fauci says.

What would be the difference?I would get on a MAX today depending on who the airline is.
Plus dealing with chickenpox with both parents working these days would be a nightmare.Chicken pox sucks. I had it as a kid. I wouldn’t wish it on any kid.
Schools around here require it.I am not the expert but I think it’s the being exposed again to the pox as an adult ( being near kids with it ) protects against shingles.
