I should have bought a little more when I first added on there!

Do you know what closing costs on a 50 point direct contract might be? Also, if purchasing direct could we tell them we don't want 2020 points?

You and me both!

I don't know the closing costs but you will get whatever the current UY points are for the contract that you buy. There is no reason to not get the 2020 points though and they can bank them for you even if beyond the banking deadline.

Not the same resort but to give you an idea my closing cost for direct 50 pt at BLT in Jan was $420ish.

I just purchased CCV direct today before tomorrow's price increase. My guide told me as of this morning CCV is sold out of its original points.

About time!! It was originally "sold out" 2 years ago before being brought back as an actively direct resort. Now let's see if the resale values start propping up.

Once ROFR kicks in at CCV prices will jump. I’ve seen a few in ROFR going through at $130’s, that’s a great price, I would expect it will be $150+ in a years time.

I was just out there looking today and many contracts are listed over $150/point already... so may not take much longer.

It will probably take a good amount of time for them to take some during ROFR. Around 2 years or so. They just started taking back Poly and Poly direct costs a lot more than CCV. DVC will get some contracts back, sadly, due to people defaulting on their loans.

I bought 50 points direct around the time they increased the perks buy-in from 25 to 75 (that situation escalated fast!) and later wished I bought like 15 more points, but DVC wouldn't let me add on that small of an amount. So I ended up adding on a 75 point resale contract 🤣.

Your guide was wrong. CCV is $225 and no longer listed with Aulani and Riviera as the new resorts.

Which begs the question. At which point is Aulani not new anymore?

VGF, PVB, and CCV are newer and have all sold out before Aulani. If Riviera sells out first....

I would love to add at CCV , but with the border still closed , I do not think it is a good timing. But at 130$ it seems quite a deal .

When it sells out. And Riviera will sell out first, I think there’s no question there. Aulani is tracking to never sell out, if you assume the rate change of the rate change of sales will continue as it was pre-Covid. It may not even ever hit 90% sold.

Disney clearly doesn’t care. They are having zero trouble (again pre-Covid) renting the unsold rooms out as hotel rooms, and the people who massively overbuilt the resort were fired years ago, so at this point, if they sell more Aulani, great, if not, assuming Hawaii travel returns to normal, it’s NBD, Disney makes their money anyway.

I agree, they can run it as a normal hotel and anything is icing. I just find it amusing that it's a "new" resort. Imagine the day when you can buy a "new" resort with a 5 year contract.
