Cayman Islands

Hi,

Can anyone give me any thoughts on the Cayman Islands? My hubby and I are thinking of moving there to work for a year or so and would appreciate any opinions, experiences.

We're thinking of going out for 10 days in Feb / March to get an idea on living and working environment.

Spent a day here off the Disney Magic in July. It is absolutely gorgeous but I think it would be expensive to live there. We felt right at home when we saw the Royal bank of Scotland!

A friend lived there for a few years and loved it. She had a post of dietician in the hospital. It reminded us very much of Florida, she said the biggest crime was drunk driving and even left the keys in the car whilst she took us to the beach. Stuff is very expensive a bottle of a very ordinary wine that we bought her cost us $8 ! She now has moved to St Kitts as her post had been filled by a local.

My Uncle and Aunty went to Grand Cayman 16 years ago on a 1 year contract. I think that syas it all!!!!
If you do go out there say hello to them they own theOlde English Bakery in George town.
We went to Cayman on holiday and I think it is the nearest to heaven i have been. white sands, clear blue water, sunshine ,ex-pats if you feel home sick. AWESOME!!!!

Their bakery is wonderful! They even put chocolate shaped hearts on the cappuccinos!

We were in Georgetown on a cruise last year and it was really beautiful. The sand on the beach was like baby powder and the water crystal clear. Of the places we stopped on the cruise it was the only one my wife said she'd like to return to.
