Last week we were at the grocery store (me and kids) I had finished checking out when I realized there were three or four things in the seat with DS, so as I was packing the groceries, I sent DD back to the front of the line with the items and the money. The cashier went on and on about how honest I was and thanking me for paying for the items. As we walked out to the car, DD was saying she didn't get what that lady was talking about--why was she telling us thank you for buying the items we wanted anyway???
However, if I had already gotten home and it was not me who left the item off, then I don't know that at this time of the year I would go back. It's pretty crazy out there and when I am done shopping the last thing I want to do is go out again to fix someone else's mistake!

Luckily the girl just thought we were morons and took it back (without giving us anything for it, obviously.) I then doubly-checked the receipt for the new one!
