Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

He did get chosen for a jury but the case settled prior to the start of the trial.

My dh's Tourette tics are not the shouting out of words (that is actually one of the rarest types of tics). He has coughing/throat clearing and hicupping type sounds, head and shoulder jerking and sometimes makes a woo type sound. We have been married for 10 years and together for 12 so by now I am so used to it that I hardly ever notice it. Most people notice him because he is very big (he was a linebacker in college) not due to his tourette's :rotfl:

My dd8 has coughing and eye blinking tics, but most people don't realize that it is TS.

The court told him that he cannot be disqualified due to TS as it is considered a disability and they would be discriminating against the disabled if they automatically disqualified him because of it. They said if picked they would instruct/educate "the court" about his issues and make any accommodations if necessary.
Interesting! So it's hereditary? We've got some hereditary illnesses in our family...had no idea they existed in the first place until my kids started showing up with them. Expecting my first grandchild and really hoping there's no family history in my DSIL, increasing the possibility for the next generation of developing those illnesses. :(

But about the courts and your DH's Tourettes. Doesn't that kind of violate his rights to privacy? I mean, someone might WANT to use the opportunity to educate people, or someone might feel they're being forced to put their medical information out there. :confused3

Yes it is hereditary. As for the privacy issues, for us it isn't really an issue as it is very publicly obvious that he has tics. I don't know the legal ramifications as to HIPA etc. This is simply what he was told by the person handling the jury pool at the county courthouse.

I hope everything goes well for your Grandchild...Congratulations!!

I never knew the dog hit on the car, that is the saddest story about the dog finding the trunk....

Thank you! :teeth:

OK...NO reaction from Casey when seeing that playhouse that belonged to the daughter that Casey was an AWESOME mother to?

I got a quick peek..........

Mrs. Casey Baez

Casey Anthony-Baez

Mrs. Jose Baez

Casey Marie Baez

Mrs. Casey Marie Anthony-Baez :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Casey Marie Anthony-Baez, international celebrity :woohoo:

I had to come out of lurking to say: :woohoo::worship::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

"the dog doesn't get a paycheck does he?"

BOZO

I love this dog guy! He seems quiet and mild-mannered but he's giving Baez a run for the money.

That officer on the witness stand right now is doing a great job answering the questions. I'm starting to feel bad for Baez. He's grasping at straws now, questioning the officer's and the dog's every move even though the answers make total sense. Baez should just stop with this witness; he's making it worse for the defense side, doesn't he realize that??

Baez standing at podium with all his notebooks in his arms trying to leave the podium but insisting on getting the last word with the K9 officer makes Baez look argumentative and even more of an donkey than he already is. I'm going to get my way if its the last thing I do. lol

Casey Anthony's second worst mistake after obviously killing Caylee, was choosing Jose Baez as her attorney. He's destroying her case!

He said there was no disputing that there was a dead body. Officer also verified smell.

Reminds me of my DS when he was THREE.

That's assuming she HAS a case. ;) Commentators saying it was a very weak cross-examination.

HoseA gave me a migraine. Is it possible he is having the same nauseating affect on the jury?
Forgey actually got a big hit in when HoseA got him to emphatically state he smelled IT too.

Yet another "it smells like like there has been a dead body in the damn car" moment.

I believe that they have a conference room somewhere nearby the courtroom where the jury goes whenever they are sent out for breaks and for lunch. I'm sure that lunch is always brought in to them from different restaurants. As far as where they stay, it is most likely a heavily guarded undisclosed hotel somewhere, and their meals are brought in to them in that case as well. The judge doesn't want these jurors running around public places in Orlando for obvious reasons.

A little OT... but your post reminded me of a funny scene from Designing Women... lol!!

Per commentators, the count of people who "smelled a dead body" is now 6.

Wouldn't it be funny if someone posted on the disboards....I'm on a jury and we are being sequestered in Orlando, wondering if anyone had tips on how to navigate disney without anyone talking, speaking or bringing up any current events & also we only get 2 15min breaks and an hour and a half for lunch, so fastpass tips would be great....Also, I'm having a hard time getting ADR's :rotfl:

:lmao:

I keep thinking of projects I could have taken to my jury sequestered hotel room to work on. Things I finally could have gotten done.

So let me get this right, obviously they've got no internet, no TV, no radio, only the newspapers the judge allowed in & edited info out (holes). And they can't talk to each other about the trial yet until the end, right?

Only get to go from court to hotel. No where else unless judge arranges it as a group field trip.

No phone calls and no visits with family members? Any letters (if sensored)? Can family drop off items for them they might want from home?

Starting to sound like military deployment or jail.
