Yikes!

:scared1:  WOW!

I am so bugged that I have to leave in a few minutes and won't get back until 3pm. Darn kids of mine interfering with my trial time! I hope the last witness is the smoking gun but my gut tells me it won't be that big of a deal. I think it is simply a matter of someone that they just couldn't get there any sooner. I hope I am wrong. The computer will be my first stop when I walk in the door this afternoon!

Im thinking like you. Actually, it MAY be the plant growth expert? Interesting though, will be Robyn Adams , IF they put her on the stand.

Do we know how many more prosecution witnesses will be called or is it just the one this afternoon? I take it we don't know who that one is?

It won't play for me here at work! Talk to me! What is it?!!?

Cheney obviously aggravated that Perry didn't tell the jurors that the defense didn't HAVE to put on any evidence. Judge says, "well, then you lied to me." Cheney then says they WILL put on evidence. Perry goes on to say later that he (Perry) can't trust them (defense) with anything they say.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- During a sidebar in the Casey Anthony trial after Judge Belvin Perry recessed for the day on Monday, he shared some harsh words with the defense.

Prior to recessing early for the day because the state's witness was not yet available, Perry set a shortened timeline of the trial for the jurors. Perry announced that he expected the state to conclude its case by Tuesday or Wednesday, and the defense to finish by the following week.

"Depending on the length of the defense's presentation, maybe by next week, probably end of next week, we will conclude all of the evidence in this case and get you deliberating hopefully the 25th or 27th, but that is subject to change," Perry said.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason objected and called for a sidebar. Transcripts of that sidebar show that Perry was not pleased with Mason's arguments.

Mason told Perry that the defense is not legally obligated to present any evidence at all and they may or may not, but Perry set that expectation with the jurors.

"Then y'all lied to me," Perry responded.

"No," Mason said.

"Yes the hell you did," Perry said.

According to Perry, Mason's co-counsel repeatedly told the judge that the defense would be presenting evidence and Mason eventually admitted to Perry that the defense was indeed going to do that.

"I will take it that I cannot trust one thing your side says anymore," Perry told Mason.

Local 6 legal analyst Mark O'Mara said a lawyer should never hear from a judge that they are not trusted.

"This is not good to hear at all. I'm sure it was out of frustration and I bet if Judge Perry could take that sentence back, he would, just to not have it on the record, but he is evidently frustrated with the defense," O'Mara said.

O'Mara said that Perry is concerned about his jurors, who have been sequestered in Orlando for more than three weeks for the trial.

Anthony, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.

The video is saying that Judge Perry said the defense lied to him. Basically when he said that they would present evidence and then the trial would finish up Mason objected because he said the defense doesn't have to present evidence and he wanted Perry to tell the jury that. He said well then y'all lied to me and Mason said no, we didn't and Perry said, "Yes the hell you did." and it went on. Perry said he would tell the jury they didn't have to present evidence, if that is what they chose to do. Mason said well we are presenting it so don't worry about it. And Perry said well now I know not to believe anything you all tell me. (I am paraphrasing)

Same here. Please help us working stiffs :hippie:

In a nutshell - JBP says prosecution expects to wrap up by Tuesday or Wednesday, then defense will give their evidence and we hope the jury can start deliberating by 6/25 or 6/27. Sidebar is called, in which Mason objects to the judge telling the jury the defense will put forth evidence, stating they are have no obligation to put forth evidence, and may or may not. JBP says, "Then ya'll lied to me." Mason: "No, we didn't." JBP: "Yes the h#!! you did." Mason goes on to admit that they will be presenting evidence, and JBP later says, "I will take it that I cannot trust one thing your side says anymore."

Much better than my synopsis!

Trust me, mine would have been wayyy worse - which is why I rely on cut & paste. :lmao:

OK, could HHJP's comment allow the defense to say he's prejudicial or something like that, allowing for a mistrial?

"Yes the hell you did". Go JP!

I am pretty sure there is nothing to be concerned about, a judge can even admonish an attorney right in open court then instruct the jury on what transpired. This was at side bar, and truthful, so as long as his rulings are fair and legally sound his opinions of the lawyers are of no consequence

I can't post links yet, but if you copy and paste you'll find it. ;)

Thanks for posting that link, I had not read that before. It's hard to believe that Cindy stood by Casey for so long.

Thanks....my computer here at work has blocked it, so I will need to open it at home tonight...just 10 more minutes!

Its really long as it includes depositions dates, people taken off, notable people NOT on the list and more. If it wasn't so long, I would post it here.;)
