Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

I'm afraid to click the link. Then I'd have duct tape and chloroform searches on my computer

I don't recall ever hearing about neighbors who heard noise in the pool, but if they did, I would then think its possible Casey drowned her on purpose and THAT is how she killed Caylee. I will never believe it was an accident. Ever.

That email from Rick Plesea is interesting as well, I've seen other emails from him to Cindy where he was calling Cindy out for having her head buried in the sand and it was clear Casey had probably killed her daughter.

I would think it was not an accident too.

I stumbled on the previous board and ended up reading the timeline and found myself taping and watching the trial.

I followed a link this evening, about the death row inmates of Florida and I used wikipedia to look up a few of them.

When I wiki'd Casey, she came up under an article/page titled: "Death of Caylee Anthony.

I'm not sure if maybe I missed this being discussed but there was a part of the article that said:
George Anthony was reported missing on January 22, 2009, after he failed to show up for a meeting with his lawyer, Brad Conway. George was found in a Daytona Beach hotel the next day after sending messages to family members threatening suicide. He was taken to Halifax Hospital for psychiatric evaluation[42] and later released.

I really feel for both of them, and I know I'm viewing this all from a pretty fresh perspective. (I live in California, I had to really look for ways to find out about the case and where to watch the trial. (I have my own list of tv stations and HLN and such aren't on there!)

I admit to a morbid curiosity in how this is all going to end. I wish we could all count on closure, but the only one that knows what happened is Casey herself, and there's no way to believe a SINGLE thing that comes out of her mouth! :(

the whole family seems like attention seeking wh.....

why "threaten suicide"? if you're going to kill yourself - then do it.

what's the point in calling/texting crying about how you're going to do it. it's obvious you don't really want to do it or you would have done it

i bet that 90% of all computers now have all these searches on their computers.:rotfl2:

in fact, the police would probably be asking someone who has a computer search done :" uh, why don't you have a search on your computer in June for chloroform ,what are you hiding"

man, anyone nefarious could get away with all sorts of searches now, & not worry,, all they had to say is , hey it was stuff I was looking up for the Caylee anthony trial

I'm sorry, but from a mother who's 14yo son has threatened suicide, I am glad he did not do it.

There are too many people who wrongly believe that if a person is talking about suicide, they will never do it, because after all, if you want to kill yourself, why tell someone so they can stop you? My son told someone because he was scared. Why was he scared? Because it was an overwhelming urge to go home and hang himself, and an image of him hanging popped in his head. I think at that point he realized maybe, just maybe, he didn't really want to be dead, he just wanted some help.

I am sure the Anthony family is quite grateful that George didn't "just do it." He was going through a lot at the time. His granddaughter was missing, his daughter was lying about everything, and he had the press camped out on his front lawn. Yeah, that might make me think it was time to check out.

ETA: Oh God, I just realized the defense can use this as evidence that George felt guilty about what he had done to cover up Caylee's death and he just couldn't live with himself anymore. Barf.

As for the crowds, on one of the HLN shows today, they had the "Sharpie Lady" on. After the mass rush the other day, this woman brought a sharpie to the courthouse line and numbered everyone in line to make sure that the people in the front got in. The first day she brought the sharpie, she ended up being 14th in line herself. I guess the court officials were ok with this as they let the numbered people into the courtroom in numerical order! They showed footage of her numbering people as they came to the line. She said she did it to make it easier, no mad rushes, and so people could leave the line to go to the bathroom and not lose their place. I hope she's smart enough to use a different colored sharpie for each new day of the trial otherwise someone's going to be claiming the same number they were the day before!
Ok, that sounds like a Bon Jovi fan LMAO! We've been using that sharpie method for years for general admission shows and ticket lines ups. In the states and Europe. Im busting a gut here laughing. And yes, never use black as its too common. We also had a notebook that you would have to sign when getting your number LOL!

The more I follow this trial and the more I read just makes me go huh? This would be sooo much easier for Miss Casey if she would just fess up. At this point, she's been branded guilty by everyone and what people think about her doesn't matter. At this point, she is facing life in jail, if not death. If it was an accident, say so. Even if it was, lying and saying it was an accident would be better for her. I just can't wrap my head around this.

Someone mentioned Kronk. I don't believe for a second he had anything to do with the duct tape. Not one! That duct tape was there before decomp. By the time searches started for this child, all that was left of poor Caylee was bones. The mandible would have been separated already. Are they going to claim he found the two, put them together and then taped it together? Nope, sorry, not buying it.

After reading chloroform directions, Im starting to think she tried to make it and failed miserable. I just don't think she is that patient , careful and for the lack of a better word, smart. She probably tried, made some concoction that was incredibly unsafe and used it anyway? Oh I don't know, the not knowing makes me crazy sometimes.

I missed most of the trial today, but I was watching Dr Drew tonight, and they had video of Casey laughing in the courtroom. I don't know when it was from, but she's snickering and covering her mouth like she just can't help herself.

Anyone know what that was about? What was so funny that she just couldn't contain herself during the murder trial for her daughter?

This was regarding the defense re-directing but I cant remember who the witness was but it was about the bag of trash found in the trunk of the car. I know her laughing was about Baez and the witness going back and forth calling the bag in her trunk garbage and trash. I remember at one point Baez would not get a correct answer out of the witness b/c he would argue that it was garbage and not trash... then the witness would call it trash. Baez said "oh, are we back to that again?" It was in fact funny, the whole courtroom was laughing, but not funny enough for Casey to be cracking up over it.... I guess 3 years is enough to get over your child dying for her.

I am sorry about your son and glad be spoke up.

I dont think Kurby meant it as a blanket statement.

I for one question whether or not the threat was real. Especially since George seemed to "recover" so quickly for someone who was close to attempting. This isn't to say it was or wasn't legit. There was just something odd about the whole thing.

Also--I believe at the point of this, Caylee's remains had already been located. I am not sure if they had the funeral yet. If not, another explanation could be that he was overwhelmed with grief.

But as soon as they put George on the stand for it, he won't say anything that backs up defense's thesis. Any attempts of Jose to infer that while George is on the stand will fail (or possibly badgering the witness).

i'm so sorry your son and your family had to go throught that.

i know that everyone who commits suicide needs help and didn't get it for whatever reason - either they couldn't or didn't ask for it and it is very sad.

but there's just something about that family that seems to cry for attention. and what i was meaning is that like everything with casey it just looked like attention seaking rather then distrought behaviour.

i could be completely wrong

It feels weird being in vegas, I am glad this case isnt being tried in vegas as there is a billboard for a comedian and it shows a pic of him covering his mouth with duct tape. And yesterday there was a message that they were bringing in the search dogs in the hotel for training. I feel strange with this. :sad2:

Good morning everyone. :goodvibes Headed to the zoo today so I'm glad there isn't any morning court. See you guys later this afternoon. :)

anyone else think dr drew should stick with celeb rehab???

he's not a lawyer - what the hell is he going on about the trial for? it's not even his field

Agree 100%

He's a sensationalist pure and simple imo

to anyone - where is the trial taking place? i had thought Orlando but then court is out until 1 because someone is driving in from Orlando.

i'm confused as to why "this person" is so special that he/she gets to hold up court for half a day just because they couldn't drive to wherever it is last night. and couldn't they put someone else on the stand in the morning without holding everything up?

not like being called to the stand was a last minute thing - whoever it is knew they had to be there

Morning all.

I got to thinking about this last night. I wish after the trial they would hypnotize Casey to see what really happened to Caylee and the truth to all the lies she has told. (I wish it was able to be submitted into court but we all know that's not going to happen.)

I am on pins and needles wanting to know who the witnesses are for today. Sad huh?

The expression "Every family is a dictatorship ruled by it's sickest member" comes to mind when I think of the Anthony's. I think Casey was the sick one they all mis-managed and failed to understand how to

According to that letter from cindy's brother, it really does look like caylee drowned and casey covered it up. The chloroform googling looks like it may have been drug-related (casey mixing it with whatever to get high.) I wonder if Cindy's brother is going to be called as a witness by the defense.

The defense said George was involved. I think they should have gone with this scenario however, it is more believable, except that people call 911 when children accidentally drown. Oh, and the duct tape.

I cant wait to see who they are bringing to the stand. I hope it is someone who is worth it to testify. It is being held in orlando. I am on vacation it just seemed odd how I am running into these issues here it just feels weird. Hope you are feeling good today.

It is in Orlando - Orange County Courthouse, downtown. Someone is driving in to Orlando, don't know from where.

Well, in essence, it is a last minute thing. I believe the SA originally estimated Friday as their final day. But (as we've seen) ;) on any given day some testimony moves faster than others because of numerous sidebars, Jose with his "aaaaannnndd" questions, shuffling his notes, and cross and recross and re-recross.

By the same token, they don't want to disrupt witnesses' lives any more than they need to (I.E., Amy having to get back to her cruise ship job) along with paying their expenses to have them hang around for several days.

And it appears this is the last witness for the state, so they can't put someone else up.

Ive been giving some thought as to the evidence that the State has NOT used. They didn't ask Lee about any sexual abuse, the stain in the trunk, the cell phone pings,Kilomarie testifying about how she and Caysey used to bury pets with stickers in the same area, asking Cindy about all the money Casey stole, the Gatorade bottle......

Then I wonder if the State is holding onto anything for rebuttal. I guess I figure that Baez will make some idiotic mistake while presenting the Defense and open the door to questions and testimony that otherwise could not be entered. I understand that there is a huge element of strategy involved in presenting your case but I just wish I KNEW WHAT IT WAS! .

BTW, Thursday is June 16. it would be ironic if not completely apropos if the State would rest on that day, wouldn't it?

Anyway, the more I think about it, the less I want Casey sentenced to death. She needs to sit in a real prison (not a jail) every day of what is left of her natural life. That would be much worse for her than death.
