Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

On HLN Wendy Murphy said that Casey was the first person to say it smelled like death in her car, like a rotting animal and it's a strange thing to boast of if you killed your kid and put her in the trunk. That you'd never say something like that. She said she doesn't think Casey put the body in the trunk. She thinks that someone else put it in the trunk.

Funny, because my take on that would be that Casey did put the body in the trunk and is establishing an alibi (if you will) for why the trunk smells. She is putting in people's minds that it must be something other than her decomposing child. I think she was looking for a way to come up with an alternate cause for the smell. I think she's saying this to make people think it's something other than her child's decomposing body that made that smell.

Vinny said he thinks prosecution is done and Wendy says thousands of pages of evidence we're not hearing about, says 3 years of investigation and because they're done so quickly, the prosecution is waving the white flag because they can't prove the case, and can't win.

Wendy also said she doesn't think residue from the heart sticker proves anything. She called the witness a "12 yo" and said she is inexperienced. Ouch!

Well I hope you checked the trunk after the car was brought home from the tow yard....no weird smells in there :scared1: ;)
Will be heading out there shortly with my German Shepherd. :)
Yup. :thumbsup2

After this is over, I'd give anything to have a dinner party with HHJP, LDB, Dr. Vass, Dr. Haskell & Yuri Melich to discuss their true thoughts.
And Dr G! And pina coladas...lots!

I just don't get the whole Kronk thing. Creepy guy? Yep! Killed Caylee? NOOOOO! Baez has already told us that she died accidentally. The state had many experts testify that roots were growing through the skull so the remains hadn't been moved. But even if they were, so what? Again, creepy guy? Yes. But why would it make any difference? Isn't Baez suppose to show us some evidence that Casey was sexually abused and that caused her erratic behavior? Instead, Baez will spend an excessive amount of time telling us that Kronk was in this for the money. Who cares? He didn't murder Caylee and he wasn't there when she "accidentally drown."

Are they inferring that Kronk is an accessory? If so, how is he an accessory? Are they saying he buried the body?

I am so far behind on this ... sorry. :guilty:

You better call the police to do this with you! Let them know it was in the tow yard and at what times just in case someone decided to stash a body in there! I hope you have a receipt to prove that the car was in the tow yard! :lmao:

I saw Kronk in my local grocery store a few months ago and I kind of felt sorry for him. Yes, he is UBER CREEPY in person. He was walking around the deli area carrying a motorcycle helmet and just looking around. Then people started pointing and looking  , so he grabbed what he needed and left quickly. I'd imagine he gets that most places he goes.
:scared1: {{{shudder}}} I'd be getting the heck out of Florida if I were him.

Ditto on the bolded. And Wendy Murphy sounds like an idiot. IMHO.

Exactly! I thought the very same thing. It was her preemptive strike. This is why I get so frustrated with these shows with "experts" discussing the show. By experts I mean attorneys, anchors, scientists, etc. Was it Wendy Murphy who called the witness a 12 year old or the other lady on there. (sorry, I'm cooking and watching at the same time and not sure who/what she is). But that same lady said Casey was an excellent mother, to the great surprise of the others on the panel. These are supposedly intelligent people!

I asked a question on the previous page but no one has answered it yet. It is concerning the same thing - experts who aren't such experts when it comes to this trial. I'm going to bump it up again in hopes that someone can answer it!

I missed pretty much the whole day, which I guess wasn't all that much. But right now I am watching HLN with Vinnie Politan, and something I just heard has me so ticked off that I had to come here to vent and see if I'm right or wrong. A viewer called or emailed and asked if it was even possible for a 2 year old to climb the pool ladder, and wondered if the prosecution had looked into that. Vinnie went to Jean Casarez, who said that yes, it was possible. How did she know that? Jean said that Cindy testified in court that she would get into the pool first, and then Caylee would climb up and Cindy would take her into the water. That is NOT the way I remember Cindy testifying. Did she not say that she went up the ladder WITH Caylee (I assume putting her onto each step) and then sat Caylee on the platform. Then she (Cindy) continued up the ladder and into the pool, where Caylee then jumped to her or Cindy picked her up. Gee, I sure hope the jury is paying closer attention. :sad2: Or is Jean correct and I'm out to lunch?

Bumping in hopes someone can answer my question!

I thought there would be more to the prosecution story. Do we know if there was contested testimony or evidence they couldn"t get in? Have they decided they can't prove enough to get a death penalty. I am worried at this point somehow.

Can't wait to hear the defense. So far their performance has been, well, strange.

Hi everyone,

I'm finally back from my appointment today. (boy can they keep you waiting)

IT"S WORKING.

Nicole's fluid is almost drained from between her lungs and the chest wall and the hydrops is starting to drain out now. the dr said it would take up to 2 weeks for all the fluid to drain out but she's looking good now.

i have to go back wed for another appointment/scan/consultation with the specialist and the genitics side to see if there is anything that wasn't tested for on the amnio. they'll be setting up an appointment for me to meet the NICU team and i suppose they'll all be able to tell me whats going to happen from now on. at least once a week for scans.

no mention yet of any induction or anything so i guess this will come in our conversation on wednesday as i'll be 34 weeks

so it's very positive news today.

Thanks for all the support everyone.

Interesting article about Roy Kronk.
http://www.wesh.com/casey-anthony-extended-coverage/28223487/detail.html

Roy Kronk has been subpoenaed as a witness for Casey Anthony's defense
Monday, June 13, 2011

"Judge Belvin Perry ruled in January that the defense could not introduce any evidence on Kronk's prior bad acts.

Perry said the defense claimed that Kronk had a "possible history of inappropriate behavior with young girls," a history of "abusing, restraining, and holding women against their will," using duct tape to restrain women and even said there is a chance that he knew the locations of the remains before alerting law enforcement.

Perry said that Kronk could be questioned about his calls to law enforcement to report a suspicious bag, but the defense cannot use his alleged history as evidence that he could be a suspect in the case."

:scared1: about Kronk's "possible history".

Was it Wendy Murphy who called the witness a 12 year old or the other lady on there. (sorry, I'm cooking and watching at the same time and not sure who/what she is).

Yeah - Wendy called the FBI examiner a 12 year old. The other woman laughed and said "Did you just call her a 12 year old?" and Wendy said she did and Wendy also called her inexperienced. :sad2: She called her inexperienced because the FBI Agent Fontaine didn't take a photo of the sticker on the duct tape and was going by the residue left behind. Wendy said that she should've taken a photo. The other woman said "She said she didn't because she was following protocol" (which is what Fontaine said) and that Fontaine went back to take the photo but the sticker was removed. And then Wendy said "Well, she should've taken the photo to begin with.

Ummm ... me thinks Wendy has never had to follow FBI protocol. Fontaine was just doing what she was told to do. I bet if she did otherwise, she'd probably have gotten into huge trouble.

Dr. Kobilinsky is saying that the video of the skull is prejudicial. Says the duct tape is a big question since there's no DNA on it, no proof by state that it was used as the murder weapon. However, in testimony, the forensic anthropologist, Michael Warren states that the position of the mandible was held in place by the duct tape. Mark Nejame just said that the plant growth might've held the mandible in place. But, if the duct tape was there, someone had to have put it there. They all agree that they don't know if the tape was placed pre-mortem, peri-mortem, or post-mortem.

HLN wants to know what we think the duct tape tells us in this case. So ... what do YOU think it tells us?

Casey told Lee Anthony a kidnapping story? Can someone fill me in on this?

That would explain the duct tape on her mouth ...

And, how unusual that the duct tape would "happen" to land right near the mandible if it did float around like that crazy Wendy Murphy would like us to believe.

I think Wendy Murphy is drinking the same kool-aid that Geraldo's drinking!

I know! I'm over here wondering what her connection to the defense team could be. There must be one, just like with Geraldo! It seems to me that only people with a dog in the show (consulting attorneys and scientists) could possibly say some of the lunatic things they are spouting.

And if they don't really believe George had any involvement - if they are just throwing him under the bus to create reasonable doubt - shame, shame on them. :sad2:

I think it tells us that something unsavory happened to that little girl. Whoever had the emotinal will to place the tape on her face performed the act with malice. I can think of no other act that shows such disdain for another soul.

I think it presents a course of events that can easily be placed on a single individual. Given time stamps and proof of story, the person responsible can be determined.

Lee testified that Casey told him that Zanny took Caylee. They met in a park one day and Zanny (and her sister) held Casey down on a bench and told her they were taking Caylee because Casey was a bad mother. Zanny told her that she would get Caylee back on Caylee's birthday. Supposedly Zanny had the password to Casey's MySpace and changed the password to 'timer55' - indicating that it was 55 days until Caylee's birthday and it was countdown until then.

To answer your question. Cindy clearly said in her testimony that Caylee would climb the ladder with her (cindy) right behind her to make sure she didn't fall. Then Caylee would sit on the platform, Cindy would then get into the pool and then Caylee would usually jump into her arms to be caught.

I never heard her say Caylee went up the ladder by herself, but she always had Cindy helping her. She never climbed into the water by herself, she had to wait for a grownup to tell her it was OK to come in.

My impression is of her doing what my kids used to do at that age. Sitting on the platform with their feet dangling into the water and as soon as I said ok..they would sorta of launch themselves from that sitting position into the pool where I would catch them.

On HLN Wendy Murphy said that Casey was the first person to say it smelled like death in her car, like a rotting animal and it's a strange thing to boast of if you killed your kid and put her in the trunk. Wendy sounds like an idiot. Didn't Casey start telling everyone that dead animals got under the car to try and explain the smell away...she was covering her tracks. Thankfully MOST who listen to this case will be shaking their heads at what she said.
