Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

Totally off topic but I hate when someone quotes me and I see a glaring spelling error! How did I let something so obvious slip through? :rolleyes1

One of the commentators mentioned that she thought the state would show proof that George and Cindy were at work when the someone was searching for chloroform on the home computer. Since they didn't prove this bit of information, the searches can't really prove much. She felt this is why the state seemed to change their murder weapon from chloroform to duct tape and why the syringe wasn't brought up. Not sure how accurate that is but thought I would pass along her opinion.

Did anyone notice if there were any more "birds" thrown today? :cutie:

Holy crap, was that deliberate? I mean, what an awkward way of holding a tissue, so it's probably a bird flip, but why why why would she do that? Even if she's guilty as all hell, I'd think she's be crapping her pants about now at the prospect of life in prison or death!! Not being an *** flipping birds!

I found it back on page 137

I used to have so many links to the Caylee case but when I lost my other computer I never put them back--Now I will save a link only until I'm done reading it then I delete it

TWEEZY!!! Only read sections 1 and 2!! Sections 3, 4 and 5 repeat 1 and 2!!

I read through those letters, I did not see the part about her drugging her daughter. Has anyone found that part and can they point it out?

It wasn't in them--I'm thinking it was held back by the prosecution for use at trial.

Umm, MaryAnn, all I can say is WOW … that is all … WOW … :headache:

What is wrong with some people …………...
I don't know! :lmao:

I'll put that link in the first thread. I meant to do that before. I don't want to put every link from the thread there...just trying to keep it to the more important links...but yes, that should definitely be there. Thanks!

I am SO confused right now, about what was/wasn't brought out in testimony vs what a commentator said vs what we've said here.

I didn't finish reading them...anyone know?
I do to! LOL... and for the record, your DS sounds like a good kid!
Thanks. We like him. Usually. ;)

This is kind of interesting info about FL's death row inmates...
http://www.dc.state.fl.us/oth/deathrow/

Thanks! I followed the link to Lowell and didn't realize it's located in the county where we live. Followed some links on that page to a virtual tour of the various cells - geez, my claustrophobia kicked in.

Did we ever get a list of who the defense was going to put up as witnesses?

I've been searching everywhere & only come up with old lists - this one from Dec, 2010:

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2010-12-01/news/os-casey-anthony-expert-witness-list-20101201_1_casey-anthony-defense-richard-eikelenboom-forensic-science-program

Here's a few more added in February, 2011:

A couple heavy hitters on there - Dr. Lee & Dr. Spitz.

Wonder what Robyn Adams was charged with?:

Oh I didn't know about the virtual tours. Just did them, would not want to be stuck there! Also, I cannot imagine being in there, and having no AC in FL. Has to be awful. It gets hot here just to step outside, can't imagine being in it all the time.

I'm surprised to find Richard Eikelenboom on that list as well as the creator of the Body Farm. Should be rather interesting I say.... And the State is paying all those people or because they are special enough to be called by Baez, they are working for free I assume?

What does a new list of defense witnesses in Casey Anthony’s case mean?

“That list is pretty brief,” WESH-Ch. 2 anchor Martha Sugalski said tonight.

WESH’s Bob Kealing agreed, noting that four of the eight names were expert witnesses. “The list would have been longer but Judge Belvin Perry denied the use of more tax money to pay for them,” Kealing added.

I'm having a hard time seeing how the defense is going to get anyone to believe the molestation claims without Casey taking the stand. I served on the jury for a molesting case and with no witnesses it becomes he said/she said. The little girl (age 11) had to take the stand and give her story. Granted George isn't on trial for it but if it's part of the main defense wouldn't she have to testify? As well as testify to the drowning?

OK - I was out all day today and missed the testimony. Doesn't seem like I missed anything huge based on the last 8 pages I had to go back and read. Is that right?

ETA - on the news, they said that the jury wasn't taking notes during the hair decomposition testimony. Was it over their heads or do you think they felt it unimportant or easy to understand?

This is part of the reason I am wondering if they have already made up their minds.

I don't know if anyone was aware of this, but on HLN, some woman named Jane (she has some show on HLN) is talking about how Casey's friend, upon hearing/seeing the sticker on the duct tape stated (in a story sold to the National Inquirer) that she was stunned over that bit of evidence because when she and Casey were younger, they'd bury their dead pets in the same area as Caylee was buried and they would put the dead pets in a plastic bag and would put heart stickers on the bag.

They're wondering if she'll be called as a witness in some way but are afraid that, because she's sold her story to the NI, they're going to try to mess with credibility and grill her on why she sold the story.

And who the heck gets a Bella Vita tattoo when their kid is "allegedly" missing?! Seriously!?!?!?

A couple of pages back there were several comments made about how Casey has been described as a good mother- here's what I think (since I can't do multiple quotes)

When JB was cross examining Casey "friends" and acquaintances, all of them agreed that she was a good mother because he prefaced each question in the context that Caylee was fed, clothed and looked happy and to be in good health (or something similar) I don't think this really means they agree she was a "good mother' in the way we are all thinking. Besides, none of them are parents and they are still partying and living it up so I wonder how much the jury will weigh their testimony about her being a good mother or not.

I'm sure Casey could come up with some story about a cramp in her finger from a lack of potassium in prison food or some such thing. Who was it on this thread that said they tried reproducing the action, and it wasn't comfortable? LMAO OK...everyone grab a tissue and report back here!

I forgot I had read about Robyn Adams before. And I think somewhere online are HER recorded jailhouse visits with family. Seemed like a nice girl. LOL Very religious. :confused3 In Casey's letters to her, Casey tries to reassure her about her relationship with Clay, the ex-cop druggie husband. I guess they could ALL take part in the RV ministry they were planning. Can't make this stuff up.

Will look at defense list and put in first post.

NOT a big fan of Henry Lee, in general. He was accused of hiding evidence in the first Phil Spector trial:

What'd I miss?
My thread about my "stupid" son who got his car towed last night. Just a step below Casey Anthony, that boy! ;)

I saw that about the friend. Who knows. Were they the only two who knew about the "pet cemetery"? I wonder.

She got the Bella Vita tattoo when her kid was DEAD.

Oh yes, I do believe it's way deliberate. ;) She just gets so mad that she throws that up to show to show whoever is testifying just what she thinks of them. And it's held until it's so obvious too :upsidedow

She also did it in April's hearings (if I remember right it was in answer to something said by the prosecutor) and Jose got a real kick out of it (then he stuck his tongue out at the camera!)
ejvmv4.jpg

Kind of like Lindsay Lohan spelling out the F word on her fingernails during her trial then holding those up all innocently...wha? Oh I forgot I had that on them :rolleyes1

But then again, what can you expect when her attorney does the same thing to the prosecutor (during the April pre-trial session) as reported by WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer:

Sheaffer even saw defense attorney Cheney Mason make a vulgar gesture toward the prosecutor with his arms.
"I've not seen anything like this in the 33, 35 years that I've been practicing law," Sheaffer said

(During that same hearing Defense attorney Cheney Mason even threatened prosecutor Jeff Ashton. After the two traded accusations of inappropriate behavior during the deposition, things got more heated and Mason threatened: "Don't get out of line with me, because I will take you, and you know I will.")

OVERUSE OF THE WORD "LITERALLY"

Dr Drew uses it frequently...annoys the heck out of me.

:headache: Vent over.

I just saw that. :rolleyes1 is all I have to say....;)

Wow! I hadn't heard that before. Ugh, I think I dislike Mason even more than I dislike Baez, if that is even possible......

Besides, none of them are parents and they are still partying and living it up so I wonder how much the jury will weigh their testimony about her being a good mother or not.

I agree to an extent. While they may be basing their observations on things like clean clothing, well fed, etc. they are old enough to know what a bad mother is like.

At that age, I had three friends with kids. I could have testified that two of the three appeared to be good moms. Granted, I don't know what went on behind closed doors but outward appearances to me showed moms that were good with their kids. They seemed to laugh with their children and they did keep them well fed and in clean clothes. The other friend definitely had issues with being a mother. She was very impatient with her DD and complained about the burden of being a single, young mother. I would never have testified that she abused her DD because I never witnessed that nor did I suspect that but I would have had to say that she wasn't the greatest mother in all the land. I assume these friends of Casey were basing their opinions on similar observations.

My theory is that Casey really did love Caylee until very recently. From what I can recall, these friends of hers were fairly new. It sounds like she finally connected with people that liked her and she had a blooming social life and friends she liked. I think that is when Caylee became a burden. I also think that she was going out more and more so hence the tension between Casey and Cindy.

I admit that this is probably only true in my mind because I can not fathom a mother that doesn't love her own child at some point. I look at pictures of Caylee and see the cutest, happiest, little girl and I just can't figure out how anyone couldn't love her, especially her own mother. So, yeah, I may just be hoping my version is true because it will let me sleep a tiny bit better at night.
