Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

Do we know who the witnesses are and why they won't be there until tomorrow?.
The only one I can think of is the Botanist woman who will testify about the plant growth through Caylee's remains. Maybe the AT&T guy talking about the cell phone pings? The Tattoo guy?

I don't think she'll get the death penalty. Everybody knows she did it. I think even the jury probably knows she did it at this point but there is no difinative evidence saying she did it. Everything is circumstancial. Unless something really good comes up in the next couple of days I believe she'll LWP.

Ah! TY.
Even if it is guilty this case isn't over, I'm sure it will be appealed. Sad, but true.
What joviroxx says...
According to Florida law, there will be an automatic appeal if sentenced to death.
But remember...an appeal doesn't mean a new trial, or overturning a verdict. There can be appeal after appeal, but isn't there a point at which appeals are "exhausted"?

Did we ever get a list of who the defense was going to put up as witnesses?

ya i'm due july 27 at 40 weeks. full term is 37 to 42 weeks (huge span if you ask me) but average is 40 weeks so thats why they always do the due day based on those weeks.

so i was told IF need to er out early they would wait until at least July 6th which would be 37 weeks.

they already gave me the shots for her lungs to develope if they do indeed need to take her out earlier then 40 weeks.

it is best hat they stay in until they are ready but sometimes it's just not possible - just wish my family would stop asking me to ask if they should induce me - agrrr NO leave her in where she belongs unless it is medically necessary but i think my family thinks they can do more for her once shes out - they just don't understand

So sorry for what you have to deal with! Induction for any reason - or no reason - is so common these days that your family is just going off of that. But you know that the best place for your baby is right where she is! (My babies came at 40 1/2 weeks and nearly 42 weeks!)

MSNBC is having a Casey Anthony Trial Special right now :thumbsup2

So I decided to watch this 'special' on MSNBC and I will admit it was very good. MUCH better than 20/20's show on Friday night. :thumbsup2

Watching JB give his opening statements again (on this special) I have to wonder why is it that lawyers can make allegations in their opening statements like JB did (about GA).
FF to now, we know that CA is a HUGE LIAR, HUGE and as JB is saying "at the age of 8yo, GA walked into CA's bedroom and molested her" … AND as GA is cross examined by LDB and denies the charges, we see CA over there at the defense table shaking her head back and forth as GA denies it and then FF to the jailhouse calls where CA is telling GA "you are the best dad and the greatest grandfather" ….

So this takes me to HOW can JB stand up there and LIE in his opening statements and its allowed???

I mean credibility plays a HUGE role in anything relating to trials. I watch Judge Judy/People's Court and heck even Dr. Phil will tell a guest "if you are not completely honest with me here today then we are done" … JB LIED, JMHO. ::yes::

Casey Jordan is predicting they are bringing in Robyn Adams for tomorrow, since it is always an ordeal to get an inmate in. THAT could be interesting.

I work as a forensic RN in a state facility where we perform forensic evaluations on criminals to establish competency to stand trial. I have been watching this trial with baited breath!
In my opinion, she should have pleaded insanity! I haven't decided whether I think she is insane or just pure evil. I am leaning toward the later! The web of lies she has spun, and the fact that her defense team admitted this is baffling to me. However, I have not seen the prosecution establish premeditation as of yet.
I wanted to add that I loved reading this thread, and hearing everyone's view points.
Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

she would be appealing for years to come.

she would take full and total advantage of every single process to keep her face in the media so that she could get out of her cell and be seen.

until she dies she will never go away. though other trials will come up and take over "HER" spotlight but she'll do her best to make sure someone pays attention to her.

i smell a lawsuit in a few years - i'll guess it will have something to do about how mistreated she is and how the county owes her for her trouble.

This is precisely why I would like her to receive the death penalty. If she gets life in prison she will find a way to get in the spotlight. I want an end to her nonsense.

We leave Wed for Orlando and will fly back on the 25th. I'm gonna have to play catch up on the defense but hopefully should be back home by deliberations. Wonder how long the jury is gonna take to decide?

I was on a jury that knew the minute we walked into the jury room what our decision was. We waited an appropriate amount of time - 15/20 minutes - to make it looked like we thought about it a little bit. (It was really an open and shut case!)

This one could be anywhere from minutes to days. It's so hard to tell. Maybe once we see the case the defense puts on we will get a better guesstimate.

To plead insanity she would have to admit guilt and she in no way wants to do that. I agree, though, it may have worked out better for her in the end. She certainly has a few screws loose!

Robyn Adams is already sitting in the Orange County jail waiting to be called to testify. She was brought in a couple of days ago.

There was no way Casey could have pleaded insanity.

There is no supportive psychiatric reports to suggest she is anything of the sort.
There is no history of any type of mental health issues.

Psychiatric reports that say Casey is a sociopath would damage the defense team.

Plus remember that the opening statements said that Caylee's death was an accident. Therefore it does not matter what Casey's state of mind was at that time since according to Baez it is not a murder.

I lost the link to the letters, could someone post it again. And I have a question, the envelopes shown in that link are to and from robin and tracy?, Not written by casey. I'm confused
Thanks,terri

Did anyone notice if there were any more "birds" thrown today? :cutie:

All this is true, but the defense wouldn't have her examined because that would open the door to the prosecution examining her.

I do think in the end if they wanted to spare her life since that is what's on the line, a course of diminished capacity or mental defect would have been a better choice... it's quite clear to me this girl has several screws very loose.... There's always the chance there will be reasonable doubt however, and it only takes one juror to hold out...... thus they went the course they did to muddy the waters enough to confuse the jury.

No. I keep saying I'm going to look more. I will. Unless someone else does. :flower3:

I think JB maneuvered Casey into telling him lies that would fit a defense. I don't think he's saying anything in court that he didn't GET her to say, so HE'S not lying...his client technically told him that. But I don't think even he believes it.
So why did they not enter the gatorade bottle with the chloroform in it?
Casey Jordan said she's getting bombarded with "what about this" and "what about that" questions (including the gatorade bottle) on her FB page, but I didn't hear what she said about it. :confused3 LOL I've been preoccupied with ANOTHER thread this morning, much to my regret. :lmao:
Casey Jordan is predicting they are bringing in Robyn Adams for tomorrow, since it is always an ordeal to get an inmate in. THAT could be interesting.
Oooooo...that would be VERY interesting. (And I love Casey Jordan!) But you know what the defense will say...can't trust an inmate. :lmao: And how is she benefiting from her testimony...out of prison early? Those letters from Casey...Robyn sent them to someone for safe-keeping and asked this person (?) if he/she thought they'd be worth something someday. JB could have a field day with that.

Thanks! Me too. The thread(s) stayed respectful and civil, and there are lots of new (to me) DISers I really like. :flower3:

The defense couldn't deny that Casey lied like crazy, so they had to run with it and use it. Then they needed to explain why someone was that nuts...THAT much of a liar. Hence, throwing George under the bus, based on Casey's vague memories of "something" when she was a kid. Piss me off!

Baez represents his client. The only thing he cannot do is knowingly lie. But if his client insists something is the truth and it can help, he can use it and not technically be the one lying. He is her voice. Now if he decided to help her fabricate a story...that would be illegal, I think.
