Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

I agree with Chris Cuomo.... they did not understand their instructions or what those instructions meant.

Its too bad that now that statements are coming out, that those jurors cant come back before the judge and somehow get held accountable for not following instructions. I think if this would happen jurors may be a little more careful how they find people on a verdict.

Ok. . Maria doesn't remember the day. According to Casey's cell phone records it is most likely 6/18 because she receives a call from Maria (the only one on her cell phone records from her) at 4:27 pm and then Casey's cell is inactive for 2hrs and 12 mins.

Soooooo. . .6/16 is the last day Caylee was seen alive. At 7:58 pm TL and KC go to Blockbuster and rent a movie. . .no Caylee.

On 6/17 Casey visits a friend, Christopher Stutz driving TL's jeep. Says her car is broke down.

This is also the day the neighbor says he saw her car parked backwards in the garage. Her pings show her in the area of the Anthony's home and Colonial drive between 4:05 and 5:23pm. No cell activity for 6 hours and 18 minutes.

6/18 Day she borrows the shovel. Is in that area again til about 4:20pm.

Ok this is getting long and she seems to go back and forth between TL's apartment and the Anthony home. She finally ditches the car on 6/27. But had started to complain about a bad smell to friends on 6/25.

Anywhoo. . .the moral is we don't know when she actually dumped the body. . .it is possible that it didn't start smelling till later due to decomp in the carpet fibers. But it is most likely that Maria was in the car on 6/18. . .only 2 days after Caylee went missing.

You're right! We don't know when she dumped the body, and neither does the jury. That's a problem, when the State asked them to know whether or not Caycee was guilty. Even after 2 days in the trunk of a car that would have become an OVEN in the Florida Heat, that body would have been reeking. Decomposition starts immediately.

And here's another strange point: Maria testified that she and Clint rode to dinner in the backseat of Casey's car, after Casey had moved in at Tony's and Caylee had gone missing. The carseat would have had to have been taken out of the backseat for two adults to have enough room to ride to dinner. When the Anthony's picked up the car at the tow yard, the carseat was positioned in the backseat with Caylee's baby doll in it.
So, after Caycee killed Caylee, she took the time to hook the carseat back up in the car?

He didn't come on his own. He never does. He has to be asked to come and search. Cindy asked him to come and search.

Once he got to Orlando by the third day he did not believe Caylee was alive and wanted volunteers to search the woods. Cindy went NUTS! She went on tv and said he was wasting his time because Caylee is alive.

He said he was going to follow ALL leads and Cindy Anthony was done with him. She publicly swore him off and refused to participate in any searches or ask for volunteers.

Instead she once again took to the airwaves and made horrible accusations about Tim saying he only wanted the media spotlight and to profit off of Caylee.

She even went as far as telling Tim that there was a sighting of Caylee in Texas and she wanted him to go back there and search for a live Caylee--Tim didn't buy it but did send members there so as to leave no stone unturned

ETA: She also called him a drunk on national tv
I actually knew very little about the early days. Thanks for sharing. Good riddance to the Anthonys. I hope Tim Miller prevails in a lawsuit, but I suspect he won't unfortunately.
Was the Pontiac actually titled to Casey?

Wouldn't that to to George and Cindy?
Forgot about that! Here ya go, Cindy...a reminder of what you protected.

Actually I'm basing my thoughts on the words the jurors themselves have been releasing as to their 'thoughts'. It's sounding more and more like they did not understand their job as jurors. They are making themselves look bad. And it's OK to call them on it, b/c maybe something can be changed so this doesn't happen again. Maybe someone without a high school diploma does not have the thinking skills or knowledge to decipher technical evidence or be capable of understanding complex court instructions.

If I am ever called for jury duty I will happily serve.

Much of the slandering of this jury came well before the jurors started speaking. And again I have no problem with questioning their decision, but I do have a problem with all the insults and name-calling. It just isn't right.

The problem with requiring a certain level of knowledge, education or expertise to be on a jury is that we are supposed to be judged by a jury of our peers. Our peers more than likely will not have that kind of background. I think it is the job of those provide the evidence to present it in a way that jurors of any educational level can understand. It is also the job of the judge to make sure instructions are given in a way they can understand. Finally it is the job of the jury to ask for clarification if they do not understand.

So THAT'S evidence of something to you?? Who says two adults can't fit? And IF that happened, that she drove them in that car and HAD taken the car seat out, why is it so unbelievable that a lying murderer would have put the seat back in the car? Was she supposed to have left it on the floor of someone's apartment? Oh geez.

Time for the treadmill. Work off some off some of the aggravation of this trial and verdict.

Well if the defense attorney doesn't need a HS diploma, then neither should the jury. lol

I have cancelled our WDW trip this year. No way am I spending my hard earned money in a state that could not find 12 competent people to put a sadistic, self-absorbed child murderer to death. I suggest we offer up Florida to the Canadians. Utterly pathetic.

Your decision. Of course, whether you come here for vacation or not will hurt only you. It will be your loss.

This same thing could have happened in your state or any other state in the union.

Because she wasn't under oath while making the statement the lies were not considered felonies. The prosecution I believe definitely would have charged her if they could have.

I understand it to be that the lies to LE are only felonies if it involves a Capital case. When Casey lied to LE it was still a missing child case. That is why its a misdemeanor and not a felony.

Judging by the ridiculousness of the jurors' statements, I think I'm on target.
i think you are too!

Again. It is not contradictory to believe that Casey killed her daughter (as I do) but still believe the state did not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
What exactly is your reasonable doubt? Id be interested to know that.

Chris Cuomo on The View said that, with the jurors starting to speak out now, there are some clear indications that the jurors didn't understand the charges and the instructions. Specifically referencing the accusations made by Baez in opening statements, when opening statements are not evidence.

Yep! :thumbsup2
On InSession, they were saying that Casey will get back all of her and Caylee's personal effects, including THE CAR. How special is that. Maybe she can sell it on Ebay..."free box of Febreeze sheets included."
That's just creepy!
She'll be released July 13th
Whatever....

I can only hope!

And here's another thing..

Remember jury voir dire? The Death Penalty qualification stage? Every one of these jurors was explained how it works and were asked if they could render a verdict without considering the penalty (even though they completely overlooked lesser charges). Each one said they could and would. Well, seems like that wasn't very true, was it?

There was conflicting testimony on this, so depending on who you believe, they didn't take Casey's car, they took Tony's.

oh well that makes a difference - i didn't hear any of that. i didn't get much of the coverage up here back in 08. i just heard about equasearch recently and didn't hear any mention of that.

I agree totally. Had the jury found her guilty, they would have been considered saints. Because people don't like their decision, they are now incompetent and uneducated. Amazing!

No. That's not evidence. That's an unanswered question. Many posters here seem to know everything and have all the answers that the stupid, Florida jury were just too ignorant to figure out. I was just hoping you would share your wisdom with me, since I still have many questions!

Nope, they saw it was the Casey Anthony trial and after that, they could only see $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Remember earlier today ppl were asking who was the guy with the "Marry me KC" sign....Well here ya go!

I agree totally. What I find amusing is the sore loser syndrome that has developed. Had the jury found her guilty, they would have been considered saints. Because people don't like their decision, they are now incompetent and uneducated. Amazing!

Could be that they are incompetent and uneducated and THAT led to the not guilty verdict. :confused3

Tomatoes, tomahtoes.

There was conflicting testimony on this, so depending on who you believe, they didn't take Casey's car, they took Tony's.

Could you please point me to the conflicting evidence? I heard no one dispute the fact that the two couples drove Caycee's car to dinner, after Caylee went missing.

I will ask you this if you were on the other side of the fence, and you knew the defendent killed the person for sure and was guilty, and knew no one else was involved with the crime, would you be saying the same thing if they came back with a not guilty verdict? Before you answer this please give yourself some time to think about it.
