Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

OMG, does it ever stop with this family! I'm hoping Dr. Phil will call Cindy on this load of crap, but the way he is he'll just send them on a cruise or something.

Interesting that Cindy denies a drowning, and now says Cassie had a seizure while the baby was drowning? So I guess Mom forgot to Caylee in a lifevest? Yeah right. Cindy will always try to make excuses.:sad2: I wonder what this jury thinks now that they have access to everything?

Oh, Dr. Phil will pull the old "Enough, already, tell us the truth" and Cindy will say "But Dr. Phiiiillll ... that is the truth!" and Dr. Phil will say "You wouldn't know if the truth bit you on the butt". Dr. Phil would say "You have been living lie after lie after lie. You have to change this path!" and she'd deny that. There would be a lot of "Come on now's" from Dr. Phil.

Dr. Phil will "try" to come across as stern but he will give into their nonsense but will eventually say "Ok, Cindy, let's move on ..." and drop whatever it is she's denying.

If Dr. Phil thinks he's going to get any real info. or break the case, he's a fool. They will be very tight lipped even though Casey can't be retried. He is simply doing this for ratings.

No need to watch Dr. Phil now. I think CG has summed up exactly what is going to happen on the show. Thanks CG for saving an hour of my life for me! :thumbsup2

Agree with this! Dr. Phil doesn't give a flip about any of this, he's only in it for the big ratings. That's all. I'm still halfway expecting Casey to come out from backstage halfway through the show.

It kinda helps that Dr. Phil is so dang predictable! And so are the Anthony's!

Hello my friend! How is that grandma to be thing going?

Mexico can have her, but way down south. Can't be anywhere close to the border so she can sneak back in... But I think Mexico has enough "unwanted" to deal with!
I got an "emergency" hair appt just after I read this and had to run! (Lest my MIL point out to me...and the rest of the relatives...when I see her Saturday just how much gray I have, as she did once before. :headache:) The grandma to be thing is getting exciting! Less than 3 months away! :teeth:

Maybe someone in Mexico could introduce Casey to some of those "unwanteds". :)
Even Jose, scum bag that he is, recognized that he would actually have to prove in a court of law that his client had a medical problem and he knew that would be impossible. Of course, knowing what he now knows about the jury, he could have hired Dr. Seuss as his medical expert and the jury would have bought it.
Especially Jennifer Ford...that woman's brilliant. I cannot stand to see her face, or hear her voice. She irks the hell out of me.

But Lisa, I'm picturing the Kronk story in Dr Seuss style rhyme. :) You might want to work that into the book, k? :teeth:

Ooooo...a tearful reunion of this loving family, with Casey telling George that he was just the best father and grandfather. How special would that be? :headache:

Hiya!

Thanks for confirming that I'm not insane! Why does Cindy think anyone is going to believe this crap? And why does George sit there and take it?

The amount of dysfunction is amazing.

Wow. Just wow.

I cynically didn't expect any great revelations, but didn't expect CA to throw out some NEW cockamanie seizure explanation for KC's actions.

By golly:idea:...that explains the computer searches for chloroform, neck breaking, household weapons...they were searching for "symptoms of seizures"!!

If this is true, Rick Plesea was right about CA - she IS the most stupid person on earth in thinking this will sway people. Dr. Phil has officially sold his soul to the devil for money, IMHO.

Where is Sylvia Brown to tell us exactly what happened to Caylee? C'mon Montel ... you're blowing a perfectly good opportunity here.

As for you, Maury ... find Caylee's baby daddy already!

I'm actually surprised that Casey didn't go on Montel to find the Baby Daddy! That would be right up her alley, you know?!

Hey....Give Montel and Maury a break! Their stages are only so big and can only accomodate a limited number of men. Unlike Casey. :rolleyes1

I know people who can look you right in the eye and lie about something they know you were there and witnessed. These people are Delusional - they can get help but they don't think there is anything wrong with them.

Sounds like it's hereditary in the Anthony family.

So why did this seizure stuff NEVER come out in the trial? You think Jose would've jumped on that!

Why wouldn't it surprise me if Casey faked these seizures?

You took the words out of my mouth! Why did this not come out at trial? Jose???

I think Cindy has been doing some more internet research. Perhaps one of her dogs had a seizure after eating chloroform (oops "chloraphyll"). ;)

Believe it or not, there is actually a connection between seizure disorders and psychosis and behavioral disorders. The theory is that a person with tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures is 4 - 6% more likely to have a mental health issue than a person in the general population.

If Casey has a history of seizures, including one while she was in custody, then this should have been looked into medically. If she refused an EEG and neurological work-up, then I'd say fakery too.

You don't mess around with seizures if they are genuine. They can be indicative of all kinds of bad stuff.

I can't believe I am going to type this. I am actually going to defend Cindy for a brief moment. This will be very hard for me because I can't stand her but reading the bold above sparked my momentary kindness. I blame you, Walden! ;)

I am willing to bet Cindy has done some internet searching. It has to be hard for any parent to come to grips with the fact that your daughter is a murderer. I can see Cindy searching for any kind of explanation. If Casey had one seizure in her lifetime and there was one article on the entire internet that connected lying with seizures, I could see Cindy running with it. She is in such denial and willing to grasp onto anything that will provide an explanation, realistic or not, because the alternative is to say, "My own daughter killed my granddaughter out of spite" and nobody wants to have to say and think that about their child.

From what I have read since this trial, Cindy didn't do anything lawyers and judges don't see on a daily basis in courtrooms across America. The only difference was that Cindy did it live and we never see most of these other trials. I was listening to a judge tell the story of a guy that robbed a bank at gunpoint and beat someone to near death. The entire thing was captured on the bank cameras with a date and time stamp and clearly showed his face at times but mommy took the stand and insisted Junior was at home with her the entire time.

Okay, I have snapped out of it now. I almost went to the dark side but I am back. I don't like Cindy. Never have, never will. I have more sympathy for George but it is hard to be more sympathetic when someone is missing their backbone. I will be curious if George says more than three sentences during the Dr. Phil interview. If he does, I am assuming he will tow the line with Cindy. I hope he at least shows a glimpse of reality and logic but I am guessing that won't happen.

I always thought, regardless of what I personally think of Cindy, that it had to be hell what she was going through. I have to be a tad sympathetic because as a mother , I just can't imagine having to deal with this kind of situation. Whether it was my fault or not or any other reason, it had to be harder than anything imaginable.

That said, I dont get this interview thing now. At this point, she needs to realize the jig is up. Daughter went on trial and was found not guilty. She needs to just shut up and thank whoever she thanks, that Casey is out and she got what she wanted. No more excuses, no more explanations. No one wants to hear more manufactured crap.

If she is going to do interviews, she needs a new angle. Personally, I think they should just hide and go back to their lives. This need to come out and CONTINUE to defend Casey when people aren't going to believe you is stupid. Pat yourself on the back for getting your daughter off and be happy with that because she isn't going to make fans, no matter how hard she tries, especially with more ridiculousness!

LOL, I'll take the blame for your momentary kindness -- and I agree with you. :)

I also think that Cindy may be grasping at straws and in total denial. It must be horrible to have to admit to yourself that you gave birth to a baby killer. I also think that if the child you gave birth to is facing the death penalty then you might try to remember the times you searched for bamboo shoots on the computer and perhaps (only perhaps) actually manage to convince yourself that chloroform came up during the search.

I missed a lot of the Anthony family shennanigans over the years -- I only watched the trial. I found Cindy a sympathetic and credible witness for the prosecution and wondered why people seemed to loathe her so much.

Once I back-tracked and saw the stuff that Cindy had pulled during the investigation I understood why people detested her. She also lost my sympathy when she perjured herself over the chloroform search.

Just to clarify my post above: A person with a seizure disorder is not automatically also mentally ill. Far from it. However, neurologists are encouraged when diagnosing a seizure disorder to consider the possibility of mental health issues and refer as necessary. Anxiety and depression are most commonly associated with seizure disorders. Psychosis is less common.

Seriously though. If Casey Anthony's defense from the beginning had been that she was seizing while Caylee drowned, had absolutely no memory of hiding the body (memory loss is also associated with seizures), then went ugly coping because her brain synapses were misfiring, etc. and this was all backed up with EEG and doctors' reports -- would we have believed it?

I would have thought it a much better story and defense.
