Caryn and Mark PJ- SBP/LSS/PI >>>>>>AND WE'RE OFF<<<<<<

Caryn and Disneymeg:

I'm Megan Leigh too!!! Small world.

Caryn, I just read your entire pj! Our tastes are so similar it's scary... One of these days I'll get around to writing my own PJ and you'll see what I mean.

Have you decided on silk flowers? I've been thinking about it since I got my floral budget from Disney and it was absolutely outrageous! $265 for my bouquet and $125 for each of my bridesmaids. Then she's charging me over $700 to put flower petals around my centerpieces... this one I dont think I can get out of, but I'm trying to find another florist for all the bouquets and boutonnieres. Do you have any pics of your Cinderella wands?

i'll take a pic of the cinderella wands and post it tonight!!!

i'm going to try to have a regular bouquet...the more and more i thought about it, the more and more i realized how much i just love roses and really want them to be a part of my day. i'm also going to have them dried...haven't gotten the floral budget in yet...the $700 petals scare me...

it's a small world after all!!! (i'm so cheesy)

Caryn
The programs look very nice. Is that paper pearlized? It looks like it. I'm really excited to see you this weekend! If you go into the city you should probably pop into World of Disney on 5th and 55th. Disney World is on the Travel Channel right now. The cat and I are watching it :happytv: . I think I am going to pick my dress up from David's this weekend and bring it home with me to have it altered. It's another $20 to ship and I'd rather not have to pay the $$ if I don't have to. Can't wait to see you this weekend. It will be nice for all of us to be together.

Hi ... HEY HEY welcome to the world of horribly plain names Megan Leigh  (I really like this bananna guy). I love the stuff you made C its all really great. I was at work the other day and one of the other nurses had just come back from disney world and brought in her hidden mickies book. I was telling her about your wedding and she was very excited and was telling me that I should have hidden mickies put on my dress and in my hair and all over. She must have been on something I dont know. I was thinkin thouh .. remember how the three of us took that picture with the 3D glasses on :3dglasses and then another wtih the funny hats in china in Epcot? Well we should do that again kinda make it like tradition. I was also thinking that if we need to wear pearls maybe if we get there early we can go pick out pearls of our own in japan. is that a stupid idea? I was debating about whether or not to post it (im not a disney savvy as my sisters are; they worked in disney while in college... I lived in europe for 6 months in college). Anyway, really looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend .. you too Linds!!!! Sucks i have to work this weekend but we'll be together at the party.

there is so much to tell...i had my first bad experience with davids bridal this week...i was supposed to pick up my bags on the 9th, well, we went there at like 7pm to get them and there were no bags. the guy said that they would definitely be ready the next day...so i went back there one hour before we had to leave for nj...they dyed my handbags the wrong color gold, they're real gold, not LIGHT gold...now i'm scared about my ballet shoes. AND there was a big red stripe on my marisa bag (the one i really liked) so they have to order a new one and re-do it...what if they're the wrong color? this is so AGGRAVATING. i'm not happy with them right now, but at least i have one pair of shoes that matches and i'll just have to call and double check on the ballet shoes. i'm stressing about this which is ridiculous...

i had my phone planning sessions with marion and with laura from disney floral this morning. they went very well. marion said she was so happy i was so well prepared which i credit to these boards!!!

we've decided on the following:
vintage rolls
yellow/ivory shades in my bouquet
ivory for all other bouts/corsages/rose wands
violinist for ceremony
pianist w/ipod interludes for ceremony

we also dropped the cocktail hour menu and replaced it with antipasta trays (it was half price)

then i cut the reception by an hour...i just couldn't imagine what we're going to for 4 whole hours...so i feel really great about that decision.

on another note, we FINALLY got through to fmil/ffil that we DON'T want a rehearsal dinner!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

hmmm-what else...O we are having our actual rehearsal the morning before the wedding, there were no afternoon dates available, so 10am it is. i'm actually cool with this because i'll be able to escape my overbearing family that afternoon and go on the rockin roller coaster!

so that's it for now! i'm in nj and it's raining!!!

I'm doing the Antipasto display also. We had it all layed out at our tasting and it was a HUGE amount of food!

Just got caught up on your PJ. You've gotten so much done and everything looks wonderful! Your menu looks great! Lots of fun, yummy stuff...

And I love that your sisters are both chiming in on all your plans. Looking forward to reading more... :)

GREAT NEWS! thanks for that! i was concerned that it would look chintzy with only an antipasto...but i'm so glad you said it was a lot of food...

i don't think i have any other news to share...i'm just trying to put our plans in stone...more later!!!

100 days to go...wow, weird. so we went to visit grandma today and she agreed with my dyeing of the crinoline ***YAAAY!!!*** we originally thought it would be a good idea to buy an ivory or gold one, but i can't find one anywhere...so i just ordered one from ebay. i got one that was a bit larger than my original one, so we'll see how it looks...i think it would be ok if my skirt was a bit larger, hey you only get married once, and i've decided that scarlet o'hara did it right with the hoops, not that i want hoops though...i can't believe that they don't sell ivory or light gold slips, but they sell those color dresses, maybe i'll make this my new business after my wedding...so we'll see how the slip looks when it comes in. hopefully it's there by next week so i can go get my dress altered ASAP. i've been working on my m+m favors all night, i went to michaels and bought little tiny ivory favor boxes that came with ribbons and labels (that i hate, so i'm getting new labels tomorrow) and i put them all together, minus the labels...i'm also going to make cool looking labels for our invitations. i can't find a darned caligrapher in houston because of the holidays and our invitations need to go out in the next 2-3 weeks and my handwriting hasn't changed much since first grade...in the esteemed words of fellow disbride lurkyloo "if it's good enough for martha stewart, it's good enough for me" i CAN'T agree more. the label template on marthastewart.com/weddings is amazing...another thing on there that is fantastic is the cookie favors that they have, they have a sugar cookie cake that is just 8 circle cookies stacked together and then displayed in a clear favor box. so cool...so i'm going to get baking when i get back to h-town...i couldn't see spending $3-5/cookie for the weddding cake shaped ones...so here's my solution, thanks martha!!!

enough for tonight, mark went back to houston yesterday and i'm missing him... :sad2: GOOD NIGHT!!!

minor meltdown today...i've been depressed, i think it's because i have to go back to houston (for some reason i'm not liking it there right now, we're hoping this goes away...) and mark is already there and i'm not...so anyway i had a meltdown. 3 months 1 week to go...i've decided that i don't like my dress and there has been yet another dress that i want...i thought that going shopping this morning and buying yet another pair of shoes for the wedding was enough...didn't help, so i got home and totally freaked out and told my sister megan that we MUST go to david's bridal (thank god they're national and there's one on every corner...) so that i could try dream dress on and get it out of my mind...

here's megan frantically driving to david's...
100_0209.jpg

so i can't even speak by the time i get there (i'm a bit of a drama queen)-megan does all the talking and we finally get the dress on...here it is...
100_0210.jpg

another view
100_0213.jpg

here's the detail on the front that i really like-this is what i like most about the dress, that and the width of the skirt...
100_0211.jpg

so, i really liked the dress, but now stands the question, do we ditch dress #1 and go with this one? not sure, it's really LOUD when you walk, it makes big SWOOSH SWOOSH sounds, BUT it has a lovely skirt width...the thing i don't like about my dress is that the pick ups gather around the bottom...another thing about the tulle is that mark hates it, i think i looked bad in it because i have no ****s, and it made me look like a triangle AND the biggest reason to not buy it...it's white and i don't want to wear white. so i freaked out. i then tried on MY dress (here's a pic of me running in it...)
100_0216.jpg

and i got my veil out, here's meg wearing it...
100_0215.jpg

so. i don't think that i like the dress...i need opinions...in my hysteria i also tried on like 7 prs of gloves (none worked) and that fur stole thing...why did i do that? WHO THE HECK KNOWS!!! i think i'm losing it. again. i swear i say that 5 times a week!

so now back to the pick ups in my dress that i don't like. they gather around the bottom and make it look bad. i'm thinking that a large crinoline will make this better, so i ordered a huge one on ebay last night...will post when it comes in. i'm also going to dye it dark brown to match my maids dresses, that'll be an event i'm sure...can't wait for that one. i'm actually excited about the dyeing, its making me excited about my dress again.

my mother talked to df on the phone tonight and told him that i was thinking of another dress and he wasn't pleased...but you know what? MEN GET IT EASY. all he has to do is wake up, shower, shave, put on a suit and he's DONE. so i don't want to hear one word from him.

so that was my hysteria for the day. i hope someone sees some humor in it, because i don't. toodles...

My bridesmaids had the same dress your bridesmaid have but in the latte/champagne color that the girl in the picture is wearing

the thing i don't like about my dress is that the pick ups gather around the bottom...

My first dress had a pick-up skirt. The pick-ups also gathered at the bottom and I couldn't stand it. When I tried my dress on, the pick-ups weren't cute and billowy, but looked more like cake decoration. I think you may be right, though, with a fuller slip the pick-ups might not look the same. I'd definitely try on dress #1 with the full crinoline and see how that effects the gathering.

Both dresses look lovely on you. Does the tulle dress come in ivory? Like you, I had to have ivory--white was not an option. I obviously had the same buyer's remorse you are having since I'm a 2 dress bride (but luckily David's exchanged my first dress). When/if you go back, take lots of pictures so you can think about it and look at the details you might forget after leaving the store. That's what I did... and a lot of obsessing...:rolleyes1

Good luck! I know you'll find the dress that is for you! pixiedust:

I like the dress that you had before in the ivory - it looks warmer and prettier on you! Can't wait to see the dyed brown crinoline with it :goodvibes
