Okay, so I just got off the phone with my contact at Caribbean Beach. She confirmed, again, that the resort rooms will be undergoing a complete refurb. Also got confirmation that THERE WILL BE QUEEN BEDS in the new rooms!

I didn't ask. I hated to ask the castmember with too many questions at once since she was simply supposed to book our rooms for us.

Initially, I was told beginning in 2014 but there were not any specifics. It looks like they are now narrowing down the schedule.

great to hear about the queen beds , although the issue with the double beds never effected us, cant say I even noticed the difference during our stays. got out luggage tags yesterday, was surprised to recieve them already, I had requested extra so maybe that had something to do with it, as I dont recall getting them this early before. Havent even made final payment yet, but will be doing that tomorrow. Wooohoooo cant wait for September to get here!

The bed size wasn't a problem for us either but I know that a lot of people really want the queen beds. I'm just excited to see what the new rooms look like.

Okay, so I just got off the phone with my contact at Caribbean Beach. She confirmed, again, that the resort rooms will be undergoing a complete refurb. Also got confirmation that THERE WILL BE QUEEN BEDS in the new rooms!

As far as the start date, they are still unsure but she is thinking somewhere around beginning of April, possibly earlier. Nothing confirmed though. She did reassure me that they would do their best to keep things nice and quiet so as not to disturb other guests. They will begin with one village and one building, complete it, move on to the next, etc. until it is all done.

Our travel dates are May 24th to June 7th and there is a possibility that we could have one of the new rooms according to the castmember. Woo hoo!

I knew that I had to ask about the queens when I called back. The resort grounds are beautiful so I can see why you fell in love with it. We fell in love the minute we drove onto the resort grounds years and years ago.

I would call each day and ask. People change their plans constantly so you could easily get lucky and get a room.

I just checked your dates and it said unavailable but when you add a day to the beginning of the trip, it is available. Why don't you call and book that and then call back later and take a day off? That would secure your reservation there.

Oh yeah, I didn't even think about doing that. Maybe I will do that. I am going to give it a few more days. I still have until Sept 4th that I could change.

I saw some folks over on the free dining thread(s) saying that's what they did and had no problem taking the day off of the reservation and keeping the free dining reservation intact.

Apologies for yet another question but more ideas are popping into my head as our trip gets closer.

Can I arrange a room service delivery of champagne and strawberries prior to our arrival through Shutters? Or is there another forum I should be looking at?

I don't believe room service is available at CBR. I have never asked specifically, but I have never seen a room service menu.

CBR does have some room service. We have had pizza deliveried (delicious and not a bad price for WDW). We didn't really look at the rest of the menu, but I do believe there is beer and wine on it. They may do something special if you ask!

Is CBR great with little kids? ( 5 and 2)

We originally booked CBR bc POR was sold out... POR opened up a few more rooms so I snagged one.. Well now DH is disappointed, as he said CBR looked so fun with our kids... My biggest drawback is just the beds and the massive size....

What to request? I think Mickeystoontown has mentioned Martinique and Jamaica.. Just want to be close to a bus stop and/or food court or pool..

We are returning to CBR for the 3rd time due to kid's pick! We have stayed at POFQ and POR..lovely resorts but CBR is just great for young kids. It's the only place my kids want to stay! They love to go down to the beach and play in the sand (bring a few toys, the feature pool is amazing with a zero entry. But surprisingly the little pool by the rooms is always a hit too. The bed size is not that big a deal for us and the size of resort either. The kids go in the stroller and we're off! We've never paid for a preferred room, and we request the 2nd floor so no one is running around on top of us for our early bedtimes! The kids walk up the stairs and hubby carries up the stroller. Good luck on your decision!

Well obly 10 more days till Orlando.doing the Darkside first....and 19 days till CBR!!!! So excited. Anyone have an update on the fridge situation? They told me to call ten days before we arrive to request one but its first come etc. Don't kbow if I should bring a soft sided cooler wirh us or what. We want to have brakefast stuff in the room. Whats everyone else doing?

What number are you calling? The same number to book a trip? Gonna be there soon and would love to request one!!
