Hi, I am Aubrey and I have spent the last week reading through this entire thread in my spare time! We are planning a CBR trip in May18-24. This is the first trip for everyone but my husband. Needless to say, I have gone a little Disney crazy (according to DH) I want to be as prepared as possible though. It is a big place to go into without a plan! Thanks for all of the info so far!

Thank you for reading along! We have a ton of fun together and it shows in our pictures. I haven't gotten to the point in the trip report where our daughter and son-in-law join us in Disney yet. They added to the fun times.

Welcome to the Disboards! You've found a great spot to collect Disney inhfo. We'll be arriving at the CBR just as you are leaving.

I called to change our resort back to CBR again from POR and the guy said it was sold out!!! he said to keep calling back bc they will probably open up... What do you think? ((( I didn't think CBR normally sold out. Now my DH is upset! I had really started getting excited!

I just booked CBR this morning for Dec. 13-16 with free dining. They had every category of room available for my dates, but there was no other category of rooms available at POR or CS.

It depends on which entrance the bus come in. If it's the back entrance, Jamaica is picked up first. If it's the main entrance, Martinique is first.

I'd say keep calling and looking online. It's not uncommon for rooms to become available after the first week or so. Some people put the rooms on hold and never pay the deposit within the required time frame (I believe it's 7 days.)

Okay, so I just got off the phone with my contact at Caribbean Beach. She confirmed, again, that the resort rooms will be undergoing a complete refurb. Also got confirmation that THERE WILL BE QUEEN BEDS in the new rooms!

As far as the start date, they are still unsure but she is thinking somewhere around beginning of April, possibly earlier. Nothing confirmed though. She did reassure me that they would do their best to keep things nice and quiet so as not to disturb other guests. They will begin with one village and one building, complete it, move on to the next, etc. until it is all done.

Our travel dates are May 24th to June 7th and there is a possibility that we could have one of the new rooms according to the castmember. Woo hoo!

Good to hear. However, the dates we are looking at are April 21-27, so a new room is unlikely. We've actually discussed trying another resort, but in the end I have a feeling we'll end up back at CBR.

We discussed changing resorts as well but are sticking with what we know we like....CBR. I know that when Port Orleans underwent their refurb, there weren't many complaints and I was told by the CM that they will keep guest inconvenience at a minimum. If we don't get a new room, I'll be alright with it. But, if we do, I'll be over the moon happy.

We just booked October 23-30 with a bounce back 30 % off room only special. Didnt seem like there was any issues with a full resort. We had our pick of every room catagory.
The resort cant be full for those dates, but possibily they are out of the room allotment with the free dining ???

It looks like a lot of resorts are sold out for FD that week. It's a shame... I'm sure there are people at CBR who would gladly trade with you. It seems that there were more people looking for POR than CBR.
