Can anyone tell me what the cost of S'mores or Marshmallow roasting is at CBR? I can't seem to find this information and we'd like to know if it would be more cost effective to bring our own....

Marshmallows and sticks are provided free of charge. The gift shop sells graham crackers and Hershey bars. 2 years ago, I think I paid $7 for a six pack of Hershey bars and a box of graham crackers.

Yes! I don't know about having it delivered to the room, but we had DS' birthday cake done and we picked it up at Shutters. Our friends then met us a the resort and we had a little bday party in the back of the food court. My DH set it up, he called the # on the Cake Chatter thread. It took a couple of days, but he got a call back from the lady at CBR. Our DS wanted a fairly rare character on his cake, and they made it from the picture DH emailed her. DS was thrilled with it!

Yes, they will deliver the cakes to your room! My DM called and ordered a mini-wedding cake as a surprise on our wedding night. We got married in Cocoa Beach and the cake was sitting in the room waiting when we got back. Such a nice surprise! DH loved it so much that I'm going to order one as a surprise for our anniversary this year.

We will have our second stay at CBR in October. last time we were in Jamaica building 44 and loved the location. DH requested pirate rooms this time, so that's where we will be. Can anyone request a good building or location that best meets the need to use the bus daily, go to OPR almost daily, and be close to the smoking area.

thanks!

I would say 34 or 35 are the closest to OPR and still pretty darn close to the bus stop. 36 is still not bad to OPR and is closest to the bus stop. Every building has a smoking area.

Thats great news! thank you!

Which areas of the food court open early? We love to have bkft (and coffee) early and relax until we are ready to wait for the bus.

Question... How hot are the hot tubs? I see pictures of kids in them so I'm wondering if they are more like warm bath water.

They're pretty hot. I know I have to get in slowly. I didn't think they were like a warm bath.

Is CBR great with little kids? ( 5 and 2)

We originally booked CBR bc POR was sold out... POR opened up a few more rooms so I snagged one.. Well now DH is disappointed, as he said CBR looked so fun with our kids... My biggest drawback is just the beds and the massive size....

What to request? I think Mickeystoontown has mentioned Martinique and Jamaica.. Just want to be close to a bus stop and/or food court or pool..

Where are the hot tubs located?

There are two. One is located near the front of the main pool and the other is located behind the slide area of the main pool.

It's definitely a good resort for the kids. They can play on the beach, there's a kids' water play area, playground on the island and they show movies at night.

As I have said many times before, I personally think the size of the resort is not a negative. Our longest walk was from Barbados 11 which is one of the furthest buildings from Old Port Royale. The time? 7 minutes at a leisurely pace. Most other walks were 5 minutes or less.

We have stayed in Barbados, Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique and were happy with all of those villages.

(By the way, I haven't forgotten about the backsack pics. I'll look for them today and send you the link.)

thanks! some of those buildings are so darn big that it wouldnt surprise me that the worst rooms in some buildings are actually further than the best rooms in other buildings (did that make since lol)

i am by no means a CBR expert... but we stayed there when my kids were almost 5 & 2. Last year we stayed at POR. This trip my kids asked to go back to CBR. They had a blast there, the feature pool is amazing, and they loved the beaches. we were in Jamaica building 44 almost on the corner near the courtyard. it was about 10 seconds to the jamaica quiet pool and beach, maybe 5 minutes to OPR and about a minute or two to the bus stop. i thought it was such an awesome location. it didn't matter that the resort was large since you didn't have to walk but such a small percentage of it.
