Thanks for the refurb information! I think our chances of a refurb room at the end of April are slim to none so I am not getting my hopes up at all. We do like the Nemo rooms though and full size bed is okay for a week. I end up sharing with my DD anyway. Can't wait to arrive at my favorite moderate!!!!

We've never had an issue with the bed size at the CBR even though we sleep on a queen at home. Your trip is coming up soon!

I have now read several trip reports (Tripadvisor, FB, etc.) about rats at CBR. I realize this can happen anywhere, but why so many reports at CBR? I would like to think WDW is on top of this... Have you seen them there?

Yes it is! We are nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because of FP+ and trying it for the first time and excited because it is Disney.

I've never once seen a rat during any of our stays and we've stayed there a lot. Probably a combined total of almost 100 days there. I've seen lots of lizards, squirrels and bunnies but no rats.

**Edited to add: I just look over on the allearsnet site and saw no reviews that included sightings of rats at the CBR either.

Good to hear! I have also stayed at CBR twice and had no problems with rats...I wasn't sure if it was a new problem with the resort getting a bit older or a little run-down.

Hi everyone! We were so close to being set on booking preferred for June 25-July 2. Right now we are at Pop but wanted a more relaxed feel. We were going to request Martinique 25 but I just saw there will be a dance group (?) almost the entire time we are there. Kinda negates the whole relaxing vacation thing... does anyone have experience on whether these groups will take over the busses and main pool? If so I may just keep my existing reservation at Pop. Bummed!! Was so excited to try CBR. Thank you :)

I'm pretty sure that someone had posted a few pages back that they were at the resort when the cheerleaders were there and they didn't encounter any real problems. We were there during baseball playoffs last year and they were all in the Barbados village and had their own buses. We never saw them on the buses or in the food court. Now, in the Barbados pool? Yep, they were there.

Quick questions:

Do the facilities at the quiet pools include showers and a hair dryer?

Are the laundry facilities in the same building as the restrooms at the quiet pools?

Does anyone have experience with food allergies at the CBR counter service options? Are they happy to accommodate and take the allergies seriously or do they seem more reluctant? Same question regarding Shutters?

Will the Banana Cabana bar allow one to buy 2-4 drinks at a time to take back to a quiet pool? Trying to figure out if just DH or I could walk over to get drinks(maybe doubles) to bring back without us both making the trek .

We are seriously considering CBR for our July 23 - 29 trip. We would most likely do 2 connecting standard rooms. It would be me, DH, DD16 and DD13. (DD13 has many food allergies) Is there anything else I should consider before making the switch? The other resorts in the running are CR, Poly, POR and a distant WL(kids don't like theme at WL) in that order. Are we likely to be sharing the resort with BTG or other large groups during the last week of July?

There are showers at the main pool but not at the quiet pools. See this post for pic of main pool showers: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=46903317&postcount=4

There are laundry rooms in each village and are located beside the quiet pools.

I have not had to request any specific food allergy but have found and heard that Disney is very accommodating when it comes to dealing with those issues.

Never done this myself but I can't see why this would be a problem.

We've only stayed at the CBR and FQ and I can tell you that CBR won out over FQ hands down for our family. I have considered booking a deluxe but just can't make myself shell out the extra money.

We have stayed at Sports and CBR with cheer groups and they were not an issue at either resort. Your mileage may vary, but it was not an issue for us.

in all of our stays at CBR, I've never seen a rat.

We just booked our stay for CBR for oct 3-11th.. A ways away but I can't wait. I've stayed at multiple value resorts.. Downtown disney hotels.. And the Coronado springs. Coronado has been my favorite by far but I can't wait to try a new resort!!!

Love this thread! Answers all my questions :)

As an All Star cheer mom, we've stayed during Pop Warner cheer and never had a problem - never saw a cheerleader at the resort. Also, we are staying there the first weekend of May for an All Star cheer comp (it's a huge one), and we are staying at CBR because most of the teams will be staying at the All Star resorts. Some over flow to CBR but CBR is so big it is usually not an issue.

Going in 12 days :) first Disney trip' very excited.
Few questions that are prob repeats sorry :(
1. We have preferred room booked, is there any building/village that is better than the next that I can request. Def want first floor bc we have 2 small children. Would like to be close to buses, pool...
2. Garden grocer- is there a fee for this service? Also do I still have time to order being 12 days out?? Last would it be possible to send my hubby out in a cab to walmart or something similar? Price? Time? Would garden grocer be a better bet?
3. According to the map it looks like Epcot and HS are fairly close. We have 8am ressie in Epcot, what time would we need to catch bus to get to this ressie?? Is a cab a better option??
Thank you in advance for any insight :)

No need to apologize. Lots of questions/answers get buried in the many pages of the thread.

We've stayed in two of the Martinique preferred buildings....24 and 26 and both were close to the food court, main pool, etc. Martinique 26 was closer. As far as close to bus stops, there's one in each village and at Old Port Royale so there's always one within walking distance.

2. Garden grocer- is there a fee for this service? Also do I still have time to order being 12 days out?? Last would it be possible to send my hubby out in a cab to walmart or something similar? Price? Time? Would garden grocer be a better bet?

Garden Grocer charges a delivery fee and it's posted on their site. If I am remembering correctly, you must order a minimum of around $40. I would think that you could still order if you do it now. If they can't make the delivery, they will show a "no delivery" or "blackout" date on their site. We drive to Disney and have a car at our disposal and I still order from Garden Grocer. I simply don't want to go buy groceries on vacation so the delivery fee is well worth it to me.

I've never had a breakfast ADR that I had to get to earlier than park opening but the buses are supposed to run at least one hour prior to park opening time. It took the buses between 10 and 12 minutes to get to Epcot and 11 minutes to get to Hollywood Studios. You also have to factor in wait times for the buses to arrive at the resort. If you feel that you may be stressed out about arriving on time, you might want to take a cab just to relieve the "stress factor" (as I like to call it.)

Buses start rolling at 6:30AM for early ADRs. I would be at the bus stop by 7:00AM for your ADR.

Well I guess Im the odd one out here and I beg to differ but we went last year the first two weeks in May and the cheerleaders were all over the place...the foodcourt was the worst, the noise was increadable. They just had no manners and even at the pool at night they were so rough in the water non of my kids would get in! The hot tub was so full of them you could not get in that either. We heard a few choice cuss words from them in queues too..when I told one of them off for cussing in front of my 5yr old I was told where to go to and not very politely I may add. There was no sign of anyone supervising these kids at all. No way would we go back when they are at the resort again. Thankfully we are going at the end of May this year and will miss them. Sorry if this upsets some people but this was just our personal experience last year:confused3

I know a pp had an issue last year but during your time frame, there should be no cheerleading groups. June is the very start of the new season for most All Star gyms and it the current season ends the last week of April and the first weekend of May. Most Pop Warner teams do not start up until August. Not to say there won't be other types of groups but there shouldn't be large groups of cheerleaders.
