Just got back from our latest trip, and stayed at CBR 9/24 to 10/1. This was our second stay at this resort, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. We were in Jamaica 44, on the ground floor and facing the courtyard. A perfect location for us.
We only ate breakfast once in the food court, but not because we didn't like the food. I'm NOT a morning person, and the only way to make rope drop is for DH to make the coffee and spread the cream cheese on those bagels while I'm trying to pry my eyelids open in the shower
We found our room to be in very good condition, and mousekeeping did a great job while we were there. The buses were great, and we never seemed to wait more than a few minutes, both at the resort and at the parks.
We did run into a couple of small glitches. When we checked in we were not given any of our requests (which were based on medical need). But when we explained why we needed that first floor room (can't do stairs) and had to be close to the bus, they were very good about changing our room. It wasn't ready yet (it was 8:00 am), but they promised to text us. This never happened. We ended up going to AKs Guest Relations as we left the park at 5:00 and had them call over to find out our room number.
We didn't arrive at our room till 9:00pm, because we had dinner at the BC. On arriving, we found out our keys didn't work.

Had no clue where the house phone was (later found out it was near the ice machine). So back to the Custom House to explain our problem. They checked that our keys were, in fact, OK. Then sent us back with a CM who had a master key. Her master didn't work either, and had to use a manual key to get us in the room. But they had a tech there within 15 minutes to repair it (ended up having to replace the whole lock mechanism). So I can't fault them for not trying their hardest to fix an unforseen problem. Kudos to them.
Our other big glitch happened on our last night. We had charging privileges on our KTTW cards, and the front desk had a credit card number, but we had planned to pay off the charges with cash. This was the most economical method for us (we're Canadian, and had set up a US dollar savings account when the Canadian dollar was very strong against the US one). For some unknown reason, the resort had charged $400 worth of charges to our Visa 2 days earlier!!!

Even though we were allowed $1,000 in charges before they should have billed us, or they should have waited until the last night, if the charges were less than the limit. Needless to say, we were not impressed. Since the Canadian dollar had recently dropped in value against the US dollar, that charge to our Visa was going to be considerably more expensive than if we paid in cash. DH talked this over with the front desk manager (ANOTHER trip to the Custom House) who couldn't explain why the charge had been made, and agreed that it was a mistake. The charge to Visa was cancelled, DH paid in cash, and Disney gave us an additional $25 credit to compensate for the currency conversion charges. So a major irritation, but have to give them credit for admitting their mistake and correcting it promptly.
Sorry this has ended up running on so long. To make a long story short (I know... too late), our stay was not without issues, but they in no way spoiled our vacation, and I appreciated the fact that the CMs went out of their way to correct them right away. We'll definitely be going back to CBR on a future visit.
