Washers and dryers are $2.00. Detergent (if you need it is $1.00)
There is a change machine in each laundry that will handle $1, $5, and $10 bills.

After several Value trips, we were finally able to book a Moderate for our next vacation, Jan 31 - Feb 7 at CBR! We've stayed at all levels of Disney Resorts, Value to Deluxe. Wife is a little apprehensive about something new.

We've looked at Google maps. Is CBR really that much bigger than Riverside? On the satelite maps they appear to be the same size.

I have never stayed at POR but from what I understand, the two resorts are about the same size. I, for one, feel like the walking at the CBR isn't bad at all. We've stayed in one of the furthest (non-pirate room) rooms from Old Port Royale and our walk time was just 5 minutes.

We have stayed at both. They are very similar in size, just laid out differently. We've never had a problem getting around either one of them! We love them both! :goodvibes

Good Morning - We have never stayed at POR but if you decide to stay at CBR, you will love it. If you have the time read our trip report and view out You Tube video at the bottom.

It was a perfectly fantastic vacation to WDW !!
We were a group of 8 all first timers to CBR and I thought it was wonderful!
We were in Jamaica, Bldg 43....
The New Pool was terrific, the food court worked out nicely for our needs. The gift shop was very good.
Busses were never a problem....great time of year to travel to WDW.
Even did laundry for the 1st time at the resort.

Kids did the Pirate Adventure Cruise from the marina and said it was loads of fun!

Went as Snow White and 7 dwarfs to MNSCHP and it was awesome!

Did both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach....Splash

Had free dining plan and ate like kings & queens, princes and princesses....

Really enjoyed the Food and Wine festival going on.....Can Use 1 Snack Credit to get a tasty dish at any of the country stations.....one snack credit and I could get Shrimp Kabob on the BBQ with rice from Australia...YUM

ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT RESORT, BUSSES, MAGICAL EXPRESS, FOOD COURT, ROOMS........Please Ask Away !!!

So Sad that's it over though....

Hello Disney Maniac's - Glad you had a super great time. One question, were you able to try the Garbage Pail Ice Cream treat next to the ski lift area? We always get a couple of them every time we go to Blizzard Beach. Well - I should say that is one of the reasons why we go to Blizzards Beach.

NOW I have to go back !!

We have done the Whole Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream....YUMMMM

Hello - Maybe they changed the name or I have the name wrong. Was it served in a plastic green sand pail with a white shovel?

Thanks

I figured I would post this question here since you all seem so knowledgable about CBR. :goodvibes

I booked a stay there from November 5 - 12. We are DVC members, but because it was a last minute trip , there was no DVC available, so I exchanged the points for use at a different Disney resort. A CBR pirate, water view room was the only room available at any moderate resort. We need two beds because it is myself and my brother going.

Should I attempt to request a different room when I get to CBR or send a fax request? I love the resort, so that's not the problem. I'm excited about the room itself, I'm just a little concerned about the pirate beds (I've heard mixed reviews) and the distance from Trinidad South to OPR. Let me know your thoughts. I'm okay with walking to OPR, I just don't want to feel like I'm walking forever just to get a cup of coffee.

Thanks!

We are going back to WDW in a couple of months, and it will be our first time staying at CBR. I'm really excited and everyone's feedback has been so helpful. Thank you!

I have heard mixed reviews about Shutters. Has anyone gone recently? How was it? Did you enjoy the meal?

Should we even consider eating there or just stick to the food court?

TIA!

We just got back from the Dream on the 20th and stayed at CBR from Oct 12-16th. I thought the resort grounds are beautiful but found the rooms really small. We had a corner room on the second floor of Trinidad north. We were facing the lake. We walked to the pools and Port Royal where the shops were. We were upgraded from POP. Since the new Value will be opening in 2012 we might stay there. No free dining for us because of Columbus day week. There was also a movie shown outside the food court every night.

I will be starting a TR soon! I took over a thousand pictures of my CBR trip and DCL! I started the DCL portion and you can click on my photobucket to see more pics! Some of the things we enjoyed were the little things like the daily marshmellow roast around 6:30PM.

My DD loved the little pirate ship area and they provided life jackets so I could give my hands a rest. The flowers and paths are beautiful. The transportation was great. We watched the Epcot fireworks every night from the food court. We went to DTD every day and it's also not that far from HS. All in all a great vacation!

Our room was preferred Trinidad North. It was within walking distance to the main building Old Port Royal. But they do have an inner bus system you can use if you don't get preferred. They do sell milk in the gift shop area. It wasn't that bad price wise. They had half gallons and larger milks you could get as a snack.

Glad to hear that you had a good stay at the CBR. If you thought the rooms at the CBR were small, be glad that you decided to upgrade from POP because the rooms at Pop are quite a bit smaller than the CBR rooms. :thumbsup2

I'm happy to see that they've started showing the movies at the resort. Hopefully, they will keep showing them.

I have heard the village pools also referred to as "quiet pools". What are the rules at these pools? are they actually quiet, IE no screaming, loud play etc or just no jumping and horseplay? Are children allowed in these pools? If yes, are they welcome or frowned apon? Are inner tubes and teh like allowed in these pools?
