Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

We spent 3 nights there last week, room 4616 the end of Jamaica, next building was Aruba. Not that far from the bus stop or Port Royale. Nice corner king size room. We ate in Shutters one evening and had a very pleasant meal. Visited the pool bar several times & enjoyed it. It's a 1st floor room. Was our first time in CB & enjoyed it. In the mornings, the bus picked up Jamaica and Aruba only. Coming back from parks, Jamaica was 1st stop. I understand they were 80% capacity Thursday & I don't think all the cheerleader groups had checked in yet.

Which rooms are closer to OPR, the standard Martinique rooms or the rooms just over the bridge in Aruba and Jamaica? Which would you recommend for easy access to the buses?

We have stayed in the non-preferred Martinique 23 and in Jamaica 41 and loved both locations. Don't worry about access to the buses because each village has their own bus stop. It just so happens that, depending on the buses' route, Martinique and Jamaica are the first to pick up/drop off.

I have a ton of pirate room pics if anyone is interested. I just need to find my camera cord LOL!

Are you wanting to be as close to OPR as possible? If so then buildings 34 & 35 would be your best bet. If you are looking to be as close to the TS bus stop and quiet pool as possible then probably buildings 36 & 37 would be a good request. Closest to the beach 37 & 38. And for the furthest out and possibly the quietest location building 39.

thank you, this is just the information I was wondering about too!

They have towels available. Lots of them. There is no need to take them from your room.

This past week there was a cheer/dance event and the towels were always empty. The housekeeping staff actually told us to do this to ensure we had one for the main pool and I think the card in the room said the same thing. But, I suppose without the gadzillion extra kids it would not have been a problem. Anyhoo... there are options :) Thanks! :thumbsup2

Is there any good/bad things about staying on the first or second floor? I'm thinking about requesting the first floor since there is no elevators and it will be easier to get the stroller in/out and for luggage.

Any better views on the second floor? Any concerns about more noise or security on the first floor?

pretty please Pirate pics!...can you show pics of teh areas outside the room too? We go Aug 8-15

Thanks!

Yeah we'll be there tomorrow!:banana::banana:

I booked a preferred room but don't know what else specifically to request? Which are a nicest preferred buildings? I know we'd like quiet, 2nd floor since we'll be taking mid-day naps with 2 little ones. :cutie:

Have a great trip! IMHO...I like all the preferred buildings....sometimes they are noisy though. I never stayed on the second floor....so that might count for the "noise" factor. And, when I say noise....I really should clarify and say that it was absolutly nothing to even bat an eye about....but I didn't have young children either at the time....so I'm not sure how it would have affected napping.

I dont mean to make you nervous at all...I'm just pointing out that preferred buildings are near the food court....main area....which is why they are preferred.

We just got back from CBR and loved it. We stayed in Jamaica building 41. Room 4141 which was second floor corner room. It was clean staff was nice and the pools and transportation were great. The only thing that was a problem was the last day and a half cheerleaders and grad night. It turned crazy....The once peacful setting turned to mayhem. A 2am prank phone call and someone knocking on our door at midnight was not impressive. The main pool after 6pm..forget about it.

I have an 18 year old high school senior myself so take this from where it is coming....I don't care how excited they are to be where they are and I don't care how much celebrating they want to do.....there is no EXCUSE for prank phoning anyone or knocking on their door. That is not the way to have fun. And, no I REFUSE to accept that they are teenagers and just don't know any better. I'm glad the rest of your trip was great!

We just got back from CBR last Thur. We stayed in a pirate room and the area was very nice and quite. We were on the 2nd floor and I didn't mind it at all. DH wished we had a room on the 1st floor because he didn't like going up & down the steps all the time. On wed. night we did notice some cheerleaders and we were told more were coming the day we checked out. I did the online check in and there was a serparted line with one person in it. Check in went fast and I got our request building 34 in Trinidad South. We only had to wait 10 min for bell service to take us & our luggage to our room. The one thing we notice was it felt damp in our room and we turned on the a/c and it felt better the next day. On day 3 we notice the fridge wasn't that cold and I let the front desk know and they sent someone to fix it. We were gone when they came but it was fixed or they gave us a new one. A few nights we sat on the beach in Trinidad South and got to watch the fireworks from Epcot. I really enjoyed that. My son really liked the playground and playing at the beach. It was a 5 min walk to OPR and wasn't bad at all. I was a little worried with all the reports on how far it was but we did stay in the building close to the road you cross to get there. We all loved the quite pools, there were a few people in them but never crowded. We did use the Trinidad North quite pool sometimes since there were hardly anyone in it at times. The main pool was also nice. DS liked the slides and went down them alot. Dh liked the hot tubs but they seem to be packed alot. We went to the main pool later in the afternoon and evenings and the crowds weren't to bad except everyone wanted in the hot tubs. We did eat at OPR and felt we had enough choices and always got a seat. A couple times we sat outside and that was very nice. We did eat at Shutters one night and we all liked our meal. We didn't have a long wait for the busses either. Maybe twice did we have to wait 15 minutes. We only had to stand on the bus on Magic Kingdom day. I believe we were the last bus stop. There were alot of friendly CM's there and helpful when we had questions about the dining plan. Housekeeping came everyday and the room was alway cleaned. They did a great job and the last day we got towel animals. My was son was so excited. We all had a nice trip and agreed we would stay here again.
