The preferred rooms look exactly the same as the other Nemo themed rooms. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30216396&postcount=3 has pictures of the rooms. Personally I prefer Martinique but distance to the food court and main pool is about the same from Trinidad North. There is so much lush landscaping at CBR even if you had a room that was on the parking lot side you would have a hard time seeing them. You are never far from a bus stop and there is also one at Old Port Royale that is very popular.

Okay- last time I stayed at CBR was in 1990 :lmao: so forgive me if this is a stupid question....are all preferred rooms Nemo themed??? I think that is what you are saying, just want to be sure. We are considering branching out from our latest POR addiction and trying CBR this time and I would love to stay in the Nemo room- my DS loves Nemo!

Thanks!

All the rooms except for the Pirate rooms in Trinidad South are Nemo rooms. The interior of every Nemo room is the same. There is no difference in a preferred room except location.

Does anyone know if there will be any sports teams/ cheerleaders CBR the last 2 weeks of June? Stayed at Sports last summer and HATED, HATED, all the sports teams. Yes I know that is harsh, but it is true, if there is going to be any sports teams at the resort I would like to know beforehand so I can quickly modify my reservation by changing resorts and save myself a ton of aggravation.

I think I saw previously in this LONG thread the answer to my question, however, I can not locate it right now. Does anyone know if the refergators in the priate rooms are any larger than the ones in the first post? I am hoping that they may have that small freezer. Also, just making sure, the rooms do have a coffee pot in them correct? Thanks for answering.

This was the first on-site resort that I ever stayed at at WDW. I would have sworn it was prior to 1988, but I guess that's impossible. It will always hold special memories for me. I remember renting a small round motorized tube. It was a blast. Does anyone know if they still have them?

Is there any good/bad things about staying on the first or second floor? I'm thinking about requesting the first floor since there is no elevators and it will be easier to get the stroller in/out and for luggage.

Any better views on the second floor? Any concerns about more noise or security on the first floor?

Any help on this one?

I didnt' think the views were much better from the second floor. Never had a noisy room at CBR. I have stayed first and second floor. Security wouldn't be any different depending on the floor.

Any help on this one?

We have stayed at CBR for the past 2 visits, the first we were on the 2nd floor and this past year we were on the 1st floor. Let me put your mind at ease, we had NO noise from upstairs at all. We were on the corner near the stairs and still NO noise. We didn't hear any noise on the 2nd floor either. We have been very fortunate on our stays here, we've really enjoyed it.

I'll second that, we've stayed on the second floor and found it very quiet, but the first floors seemed just as quiet to us when we stayed on it also. CBR is a very quiet resort where the rooms are! That's one of the many reasons we love it!:thumbsup2

The only sound we heard at the CBR were the normal sounds of a couple of toddlers staying above us.

Funny though, all was silent after 8 or 9 PM every night. Go figger?!?!? Those poor kids were so tired after a day in the parks, I have no idea how they even ate dinner.:)

Thank you to all for the wonderful pics and info on CBR. We are going in Sept. and I can't wait, we are so psyched for the Pirates of the Caribbean adventure cruise for the kids, the pirate room, the pool water play area, ALL OF IT, YEAH!!:love::banana:

We have never stayed at this resort before, but are planning our first stay in December. I have a question regarding the refurbishment: did they change the mattresses along with the other changes that were made and more important how comfortable are they?

Also, in terms of proximity to bus pick-up and drop off and walk to the food court, which buildings offer the best of both worlds? Thanks so much for the benefit of your experience! :mickeybar

Thanks so much for the answers about 1st and 2nd floor. We'll be heading to CBR in a pirate room on June 5th. Our first stay at CBR, I'm looking forward to it. My 2 boys will love the pirate theme!! I think I'll put in a room request for Bldg 34, first floor and see what happens!

hi there, I just returned from our trip two days ago at the Poly and I'm already thinking about next year, and thinking about doing CBR. While I'm thinking about it, I was wondering if the bus stops are covered (so you are shielded from the sun), and how often the buses come around? I know there are many stops at the resort and was wondering how often you must wait for the next bus? I am completely spoiled now staying at both the WL and Poly and not using a bus and have no idea what to expect. I'd like to return again to WDW next year and will have to stay at a mod this time. CBR was always in the back of my mind, and my DD really enjoyed the beach at the Poly. Can you build sand castles on the beach at CBR? Are there hammocks to relax in? Can you see fireworks from Epcot anywhere? I'm sure I'll be posting lots of questions, so I look forward to chatting with everyone! TIA for your help :)

Yes the mattresses were changed during the refurb, and they are very comfortable. We've slept on them last Dec. and we will again in Aug.

If you want to be close to a bus stop, food court (Old Port Royale) and the new pool, I recommend that you reserve a Preferred Room. While you will pay more per night for those, but in my book they are so worth it. We have stayed in Preferred Rooms on our last 2 trips there, and they were worth every penny to be as close as we were. The first year we were in North Trinidad and last year we were in Martinique and we loved it. Either section is wonderful.

I hope you have a great trip and love CBR as much as we do!!! Its our family favorite.

If you take a look at the first several posts in this thread there is lots of information on CBR. If you have any specific questions ask away and many will be along to help.

We just got back from 8 nights at CBR in a Pirate room. We loved the room and loved the resort. The grounds are beautiful and have a wonderful peaceful feeling. Our location seemed very quiet and uncrowded even though the rooms were occupied. It was not a far walk to the pool and I actually enjoyed walking along the water. I do not understand the complaints about the distance.

The room was so amazing and the kids as well as my husband and myself loved the theme. We had a water view so our room looked out at the lake. There was also a park and pool right outside our room.

The main pool was awesome. We had so much fun there and the kids wanted to swim there instead of going to the water parks. The water slides were perfect for my 6 and 9 year olds.

I highly recommend this resort. You will not be disappointed. If you have any questions, please ask.

Jessica
