:love:Just one more opinion from a CBR resort guest to newbies...We love it!
We started staying there in 92 and then again in 94, 98, 2001, 2004, and 2008. It is by far our favorite! Having 2 kids in college now and a fourth grader, we still love it.
Why? The landscaping/beach feel...we have always loved walking the bridge, seeing the animals (and we've seen baby bunnies, birds, and other animals), riding the surrey's, biking, using the watercraft, and running around the villages. Last year, my dd8 got to watch HSM outside on a grassy knoll on the little island with other children! She loved it!
We've always had great mousekeeping (and yes, last year we asked for maybe a towel animal in our thank you note) and every day it was a pleasant surprise when we got back!
The food court has always been more than adequate for our needs. The fridge, the same. We've always used the buses 1. because my kids thought it was a treat, 2. because dh doesn't want to drive 3. my dd likes watching ppl and meeting new friends.
We love how after "a hard day at the parks" you can get off at OPR and get a treat/snack/coffee, etc.
We leave Oct 6-12 this year to celebrate our 25th anniversary. No, the college kids aren't coming, but the 9 year old is! And out of all the places I could choose? CBR!!!!! Whoooo Hoooo...and I am soooo excited!

Just wanted those who have never experienced our 'joy' to come on over with no hesitations or worries.. we love it!:yay::yay::yay:

I just booked CBR today with my AP discount for May 5-8. I have not stayed at CBR since I bought my DVC 7 years ago, so I am very excited to see the changes. It was the first resort I ever stayed at in WDW and I always thought it was a great value for everything it had to offer. I truly think it is the best moderate resort on the property. For those who have not stayed there but planning on it, you will be in for a treat. The photos there have never done it justice, and the photos are beautiful! They should make a DVC there too. LOL.

Yea - so excited! I read about 1/2 threads so far on here. I had booked a family suite at All Star Music on the Free Dining bounceback for last year, and we decided to leave one child at home (the vacation wrecker) oh yes we can. Her Orchestra is going to WDW with school and she would rather go with them. So, since now down to four - I called and YES I got a Pirate room at the CBR!! I dropped the water park feature on my tickets and got a waterview room hoping that the pools will be just the same as waterparks (We have done them all before - on a shorter trip for me anyway, only 6 days). I figure go from Value to Moderate and relax and enjoy the resort a little more! Maybe I should have read the site first to see that Pirate rooms are the FARTHEST away...but I don't care - walking is good for you. Coffee Maker and fridges will be a huge perk.

We will be there Oct. 2-8th on Free Dining!!!

It was my lucky day!

Yeah! Great time to go!

Can you still fax a room request in? If so is it still best to do it 4 days prior to check in? If not, how do I request a certain building?

The last time we went I used a TA so I put my request through her, this time I am booked directly through WDW so I am clueless!

TIA

I can't remember, does CBR have an internal bus to go from the islands to the main desk? Thanks!

Yes there is an internal bus. Almost everything can be done after check in at the lobby concierge desk in Old Port Royale the food court.

That is good to know. So once you cjeck in, then you really never need to go back to Custom House?

Does anyone know if you can request a waterview room if you are in Trinidad South since you have already guarenteed a Pirate room?

After check in I only went back to the custom house because I forgot to take my ID card from the lady at conceirge after I had checked and to check out :guilty:

Pirate room waterview is a bookable category. You can request it but you would be behind those that paid for waterview.

Thanks - I forgot! It really does not matter.

Do you know if they have a lot of connecting rooms - that was my one request and I am really hoping we get that one!

I only went back to do airline express check in and then to meet the ME bus :sad1:

has anyone stayed in building 22? I was looking at the map and it is a standard room area (i think) room but doesn't look too far either. Is it a far walk to the port? I'm also trying to decide to stay at CBR or ASSP. There is about a $500 diff and I can't make up my mind, help me decide pleeeease :confused3

Does anyone know where you get a cab at CBR. WOuld I have to go to the custom house? Or could they pick up in front of our section? We stayed here in October but we drove our car there, so I have no lcue about cabs. What I'm thinking of doing is staying here for 1 night before our reservation at SSR begins. But we are flying this time so we would need a Cab to tarnsfer over to SSR in the morning. Not sure how a resort switch would work here since it's such a large resort.

Just found this thread...

We are checking into the CBR (standard room) next Saturday for the 1st time. Usually we stay at Pop Century. We're excited! :cool1:

Any top tips or things not to miss?
