I have a rate from Dollar. I want to add a day. The rate I have is much better than whats available now with the same code. Can I modify to add a date w/o losing the great rate I have? Or will I lose it the minute I hit modify? Thanks

When you modify your ressie at the Dollar website, it will bring up your new ressie, then you have the option to keep the exsisting or to continue with the modification.

But will it change the rate or just add on a day with the rate I already have? Sorry if I'm confusing. The new rate is now for the same booking is crazy. I guess I got in at the right time. I just want to add a day but dont want to lose the rate I have already.. Thank you so much.

Well, what I had happen to me was, yesterday when I went to just adjust the times - I had put pick up at 1pm, drop off at 1pm, and wanted to change both to 3pm - my rate jumped up by $60 or so... I ended up booking with Alamo and cancelling the one with Dollar.

Thats exactly what I was afraid of. As we speak the prices are going up, up, and up. Its crazy.

It stinks! I know... I actually ended up with a better deal than before. I went to Mousesavers and used the walmart code and a coupon for a weekly and ended up with the same price that I had plus an extra driver! Hope you can find a way around it!

I went and priced 1 day. I wonder if I can pay for the 1 day and then the other ressie for 1 week? LOL That would be great.. I used dollar once and national once. I like national better but, they are higher right now for Sept

Anyone have a different experience? Were you able to add a day without losing the initial great rate? Thanks

The same thing happen to us last year. WE wanted to add a day for a Dollar ressie. We call Dollar they said just ask for another day at the desk in the airport at the time you pick up your car. We did that and got the same price as the rate we had.( which i trying to get for this aug. trip but so far it's over a $100 more than last years rate:confused:) Everything worked out good for us. Try calling Dollar and ask them. Good Luck

I just went through with same situation. Need to add a few hours to my pick-up thru dollar at MCO. The price of a full size jumped from 170 to 350 with the new reservation! I decided to rent from MCO to Dollar at Grovensor hotel at DTD. Will pick up at 11:30pm at mco change to new car at DTD hotel following day at 11:ooam and still have rental for the next 5 days and return as scheduled at MCO. Doing it this way is abit more run around but it only is costing me $4 dollars more!

Thanks but I am kinda confused. Did you origionally rent from the hotel? Or did you change your ressie to the hotel? sorry, long day at the bookfair at school.

Sorry about the confusing post. Yes originally I rented from the airport, cancelled that reservation, rented 1 day from MCO to DTD hotel (Grovensor).
When I return that car at Grovensor I will pick up another full size there and keep it for thefollowing 5 days and at the end of my vaca, return the car back to MCO and fly back home.

I just tried emailing Dollar about this. What a joke. Their response didnt even answer my question. I guess I will have to call. I should have known better.
