Is it true that fast pass for the radiator spring racer are all given out within an hour of opening? With the parks opening at 8 and my kids who likes to sleep in, we won't make it to the park til probably 10:00. Are we out of luck for the ride?

It was like that before but they have expanded the fast passes since then. Now they last a few hours. However on the busiest days I guess it could go in an hour

If you miss the fastpass distribution, you can still go on the ride, just get in line during meal times and it should be a little shorter than the rest of the day. If you download the Disneyland app you can keep tabs on wait time for the attractions, including Radiator Spring Racers. Though I like the single rider option, with families with kids I think it's more fun to ride together.

Yes I am new. I saw FP forum so I posted there. I didn't even know about FP+ and its a totally different beast. Then I found another forum I thought was appropriate, but then realize it's disneyworld. I didn't see the Disneyland forum til I scroll all the way down. I didn't know how remove the other postings

How to I try to get a FP for a later time of the day? like say if I try to get there 8:30 would I get one that's for a later time ? I'm trying to see if I can just get the pass first myself before the kids can get up . But there's no point if I go at 8:00 and the FP is for 9:00 and the kids are still waking up

everyone has to be in the park to be able to get a fp...there tickets have to have been scanned at the gates that day if your kids are older than 7 you can always use single rider line

The FP do not disappear in an hour after park opening. That was only when the ride was new. However, they are the hottest FP in the park and will be gone early. What day of the week are you talking about? Weekends are the worst. It is highly likely that you could get a FP around 10. Also, not to spoil anyone's vacation, but is there any reason you can't tell the kids they have to be up and at the parks early at least one day of your vacation?

As far as FP goes, everyone must have valid admission. The admission is only valid if it has been used for entrance that day. So you can't leave them at the hotel and go get FP for everyone. You can all go to Disneyland and leave them there and then go to DCA and get everyone a FP. Does that make sense?

My 5 and 7 year old could never be up early. They slept til 9 when we were there last week and we couldn't get to the park before 10:45. Luckily parks opened at 10 so we didn't miss much. My husband got in line for the FP right away and we got at 2:30 return time. So there were still plenty of times left.

I would try to get to the park as early as you can and worst case scenario is that you miss a FP and wait in the standby line.

Depends on when you go too as to how soon they run out - busier times see more people pulling them faster. Also, when a park opens at 8AM then it usually doesn't close until 10PM, so that means there are more FPs for distribution than on a day when the park is only open 10 hours. Still, I'd not show up around 11 and expect any left - that can be gone by then and even if they are not your return time will be close to park closing.

Another suggestion, since if your kids sleep in they are more than likely older, you can always use the single rider line - we like that better than fast passes as often the wait time is less than that for fast pass.

My kids LOVE to sleep in but they are up and raring to go when we are at Disney!! They might surprise you.

Thanks for everyone's response. My kids are 5 and 7 and they don't usually get up til 9. And with our hotel at least a 20 mins walk away (or shuttle I guess) ; I'm guessing we will be in the park closer to 10:00 We are going mar 21 and yes spring break and easter ! I'm just trying to plan it out so not to disappoint my just turned 5 year old boy ... And prevent the possibility of a meltdown if we tell him we are going to ride McQueen when in fact we can't (they will not last an hour in the line up!!)

I would suggest downloading the app now and maybe checking FP return times on a few busy weekend mornings and how long they are lasting. Then you'll have an idea how popular they are and how long they're lasting on busier days. I was a bit surprised at how fast they went on our last trip in mid February when there was no holiday or event going on, I think I got ours at 11:00 and they were done distributing them by the time I got mine and made it back to the entrance to the FP machines! And if they can be coaxed awake even an hour earlier, you'd be better off all around as the lines definitely grow for all rides after noon. Are you coming from a different timezone? Or maybe ease them towards an earlier bedtime / morning in the few days before the trip? The mornings really are the slowest times in the parks! I think it would be worth a little effort to try to get there as early as possible, the standby line for RSR is truly loooong and I would never want to try to entertain kids or myself for an hour wait!

Have fun planning!

My teens who love to sleep in normally on vacation always make an exception for Disney and always happy to set their alarms early. They just love being some of the first people in the park and being able to do so much before the heavy crowds come in. // This is not to say you cannot have fun at Disney without doing this. // During busy times, though, not doing this may result in some longer lines for some of the popular attractions. // It's just a choice to consider. Obviously lots of people choose to the sleep in a little based on how much we've always been able to do by being some of the first people in the park. And either way especially with options like FP, both groups enjoy their experience. // We just personally really like being at the parks early and I just wanted to mention getting up earlier as something to consider.

I would maybe suggest getting them up a little earlier maybe on the first day their will be a ton of excitement anyway and they will get up earlier!

I've never seen the // thing you're doing, what does it represent? I find it confusing, it almost completely halts my reading of your paragraph. Admittedly I don't keep up on the latest things, emojis etc, is this a new thing I should learn? Thanks.

Wait, can I get clarification on this? If you've scanned into Disneyland for the day but have not yet scanned into DCA, you can still get Fastpasses in DCA? For some reason I thought that didn't work. I remember us walking over to DCA, scanning in, handing our passes to DH, then the kids and me turning around and walking out and going back to DLand. We thought you had to be in the park to get the Fastpass.

Honestly, I would assume FP's will go very, very quickly. Is it possible for you to delay the ride to your second day, and check with the CM at the RSR Fastpass distribution about how soon they were sold out the day before. That'll give you your closest information.

And honestly, if it were my kids I'd be waking them up early. It's worth it. :)

How would you get fastpasses from a park you're not physically in? I'm really confused by your question, your park passes have to be there.

What the person is saying is completely correct, what you're saying makes no sense. Read what they wrote again. Go to DL, take passes leave people behind, go to DCA, get fp's at dca, go back to DL meet up with party.

Why not just download the Disneyland App and you can check the fast pass return times every day up to the date of your visit to gauge how quickly they run out.

Thank you, I don't need to read it again. But let me repeat what *I* said because you didn't read ME properly.

OBVIOUSLY you cannot get fast passes from a park that you are not in. The post I quoted suggested that all one needs to do is take everyone's passes into DCA and get Fast Passes from Radiator Springs Racers. HOWEVER, the only person that is physically in DCA with a scanned-in ticket is the person getting the passes. He/she cannot scan the whole family's passes into DCA because the rest of them are not in DCA.

So my question (again) is, can one member of your party do this? Can my husband take all our passes while we wait in DLand, and scan himself (and not us) into DCA and get Fast Passes for all four of us? I'm saying we haven't been able to do it this way in the past. We could not get a Fast Pass until you've scanned your pass into the park. What would do is have all four of us scan into DCA, THEN Hubby would take the passes and run with them. We would either do something else in DCA or start to make our way back to DLand (but we couldn't go in again because he had our passes). He would catch up to us and then we'd scan back into DLand.

The part I am questioning is this: "go back to DL meet up with party" I am questioning the ability for one person to get all the Fast Passes if they are still in the OTHER park.
