[Choppers]

Does anyone know how far in advance Capa takes reservations? I’m trying to book for mid-June but it says I’m too early.

Considering whether to go here or Bull & Bear for my 40th meal so if anyone’s got any experience of both then do say!

We are huge fans of B&B. We have dined at Capa as well, but keep going back to B&B.

They book at 30 days out now, it used to be earlier by phone, but now both phone and online reservations are at 30 days.

ETA - We love Capa, we actually liked it better than Victoria and Alberts, so would definitely recommend.

Bull and Bear is fantastic!!!! Just had our 30th Anniversary there.

Oh, goodness... what a tough choice. Happy 40th and the good news is that you can't go wrong! I love both. I'd describe Bull and Bear as a traditional steakhouse vibe with elevated comfort food. You get a team of servers (who are great) and there are a lot of tableside preparations - if you go, don't miss the fried chicken (an entree but can get as an appetizer to share- sounds basic but is otherworldly) and the lemon dessert. Also, the caesar and the steak frites are not to be missed. Capa, I feel like is a bit more elegant, upscale (but equally delicious). There's a rooftop bar for pre/post cocktails (bonus if you can time for sunset) and also an area where you can step out from the dining room for fireworks. Service is the 4 Seasons standard and exquisite (and befitting the Michelin star they earned). If driving, for both you would valet and can get your ticket validated. You really can't go wrong. Thank you to you and everyone else for your input. Definitely leaning to Capa, partly to tick off a Michelin star in another country (done a bunch in the uk but nowhere else) and I think we’d enjoy the food a little more. To be honest, the table side prep stuff slightly puts me off B&B!

Sounds like Capa will be perfect!! The resort as a whole is beautiful so, if possible, plan some time to walk around. The rooftop bar is terrific but there is also a "secret" speakeasy at the resort Thursday through Saturday nights. It's a unique experience that could be fun before/after dinner. For anyone else weighing a similar choice, I'll just add that I think the Bull and Bear team is very adept at "reading the table" and the tableside prep can be as involved and interactive (or not) as you want it to be. We tend to ask a million questions, but I've also seen them prepare a dish silently while the table talked amongst themselves.
