Canon S3

Robin, when I got mine end of Sept, I got it from Circuit City online. It had one price online, but a cheaper price if you ordered online, but picked it up at the store. Sorry, I can't remember the prices, I just remember it was cheaper...and cheaper than other stores around. I was too impatient to wait for any shipping anyway. I do remember it was low $300's though.

S2 owner here. I have not purchased any, the basic camera seems more than enough. Plus, with those attached, it becomes as big as a DSLR, and I want something I can carry in my pocket if need be. I do wish the camera had a threaded barrel though, to attach a UV filter, primarily for protection.

Hmmm ... I don't think that the Canon is part of that promotion.
It is, at least in this area. I was in the Ritz store at the mall Sunday and I asked the salesman about it. He showed me the printer and I mentioned I thought it was a good deal.

I also have the Winter '07 Ritz Blitz Catalog in my hand and the deal is good on ANY digital camera greater than 4MP. Besides the printer and photography class, other freebies include digital prints, rebates and coupons, inkjet paper, and software.

If I hadn't already bought mine, I probably would have gotten this deal.

Stop spending my $$$.

lmao..wouldn't be the first time i have been called a enabler!!

thanks for the link to the adapters..things are becoming clearer for me now.
a dslr is not the books for me for years to come, so i would like to see what i can eventually do with this camera. any lens i would purchase for this camera would work with a dslr?

Question: I ordered this camera from Dell as well, but it doesn't ship until the 27th...which is after I get home from Disney. I want it now. Does anyone know how the Dell shipment will come packaged?

Could I go to Walmart and buy the S3 now, then return the one that comes from Dell to Walmart after it gets here??

I don't want it bad enough to pay another $100 for it!

Thanks ndelaware! I go to fatwallet and those two are the same. Somehow I missed the deal that was in Sunday's newspaper ...

Office Depot's Sunday circular has 20% off all Canon and Kodak cameras which would bring the cost of the camera down to $320. Of course, the only one they have in stock is the demo and the deal is only good in-store.

HOWEVER ... other places will price match: http://www.fatwallet.com/news/index.php?storyid=564716

I will try Best Buy and Office Max and Citcuit City today. I hope to come home with a camera.

Congrats Robin!!! I called my BB and they said that the local OD had to have it in stock for them to give me the price match. I am still going to go anyway and beg them to give it to me. I have one on hold at the OD about 30 minutes from here, for me to pick up tonight, but she said that isn't their local competition, which I will highly disagree with! So, I will report back on this and let you know what happens.

Update on Page 1! I have a camera!
Great news Robin!!!! Now get out there and use it so you know what is going on before you get to WDW.

Well, BB came through for me. The girl still said no, but I asked for the manager and he allowed it. So, I have mine in hand as well. They had 3 1GB cards for $54.99 too. Not sure if that is a great price or not, but it seemed like it. So, got those too. Took a few pictures of dd tonight and they look awesome.

Thank you SO MUCH Robin for all the information on this!! I am so happy I got this in time for the trip.

Whoo Hoo! You're ahead of me. Mine is still sealed in the box ... but not for long! I bought a 2GB card for $29 on Black Friday at BB in anticipation of purchaing the camera.

I took a ton of pictures again this morning, with the kids eating breakfast, and wow, even just basic shots look amazing compared to my other cameras. Just so sharp and I love the background being blurred out!
