Canon S2

Thanks Dan. I had been on that site, and could not find what I was:confused3 looking for. I will table this for tonight, and hopefully in the morning, I will either find the book, or be able to find where I need to be on the canon page.

BTW - How is Doc?

Click on Product/Software Manuals, then Download Manuals, then the PowerShot S2 IS Camera User Guide pdf file. Save to your PC and then open.

Thanks, Doc is feeling a bit more 'with it' tonight. He was zonked from the chemo yesterday. Again, thanks for your kind words on the CB and your thoughtfulness. :goodvibes

I finally found it.... the brain finally kicked in for a few moments!!!

I was in the .pdf file, I was just didnt realize I was looking for "continous" shooting. I had tried that button on the camera, but forgot to change it from AUTO mode.

It's Friday, my brain is just worn out from this week and work! Geesh - I haven't been to Disney since Sunday!

Looking forward to celebrating my DDs 9th birthday tomorrow (movie and her favorite Marble Slab ice cream) and Sunday for "brunch" at the Grand Floridian 1900 Park Fare!

I'm glad Doc is feeling better. I am sure the chemo is rough for him!

This photo was taken about 1/2 hour outside of the Las Vegas strip in Red Rocks Basin. It was the first real outing for my S2 IS. The photos were auto color corrected on Photoshop Elements 2.0 (thanks for the heads up, Dan!!) and it is my first attempt at taking a series of photos with Photostitching in mind; I took 4 photo. I've even impressed myself! :goodvibes

Band aid tool you say???

Everyone, thanks for the encouragement. It's definitely a moment for mom's refrigerator (where all of my good drawings used to go!)

Fergie, there is still that line there. You can get rid of it using band-aid tool.

Great photo of a great place. I have been to Red Rock Canyon many times on my trips to Las Vegas. I think I have taken many photos from that vantage point.

I like the looks and feel of this camera, love the thought of 12x zoom, and I do have camera shake. I also love the pics that i see on here taken with the Canon S2 IS.
I know that if i bought it I would only use it as a point & shoot. I'm camera illiterate (sp) when it comes to all of the settings & doubt if i would ever learn to use it for more than a P & S.

Sure that is one of the better point and shoot cameras around. I used to be a big fan of the G series(G6 rocked), but this is about as good as it gets now.

And it is a point a shoot camera.

That's pretty much where I still am with the S2, although I do hope to learn more. I have not had a chance to really get out and play with all the settings, but I sure am happy with the pics that I am taking, I love the feel of the camera, and the 12x zoom.... gotta love it!

I just bought it myself and yes we are point and shoot, but like you after seeing all these great pictures from the camera I said we had to get it. Check out WWW.pricegrabber.com for the best price. Beach camera and Buydig, (they are the same) had the best price for me. Good luck and enjoy :thumbsup2

It's a great camera - especially for outdoor use - the colors just pop with this camera - If you are planning on a lot of indoor use, take the time to read the manual so you can adjust your light settings - otherwise they may come out a bit on the goldend or dark side. I've had mine since November and just love it - lots of bells and whistles to play with if you're in the mood!! :)

Go for it. Its one of the best p&s camera's out there.

How does this camera handle action shots? Our current digital is really slow on the draw, so pictures of the kids playing hockey usually come out blurry and with the kid pretty much out of the frame by the time the shot actually goes off!

Shutter lag is a common thing with point and shoot camera and can not be avoided. I don't know whether S2 IS or S3 IS have solved that problem to any degree.
