Canon S2

Neither dpreview or Steve's have sample images for that Panasonic. It would be nice to see some.

The camera is due out in March. I imagine they will review it as soon as they get their hands on it. They may already have and agreed to wait to publish until it hits the street.

Manning...(love that name as I had an uncle by that name)

I don't want COMPACT compact...I want something that I can have on a neck strap that is smaller than my SLR...

Also, I'm a Canon girl...from my EOS Elans to my old A40 digital (how can a camera be old in 4 years... :confused3 )

That panosonic looks good though. My brother is looking for one so I will point him in that direction...

I really liked the S2 IS but I wanted a better ISO and megapixels. Looks like this is it...and big enough for DH's big hands... :thumbsup2

Just another thought...Wish this was Compact Flash compatible so I could use what I already have but no such luck... :crazy2:

Ndelaware, good point!

My camera came today, but I haven't had much time to play with it, unfortunately. I did take a few pics with the zoom. I sat across the room from my bookshelf and took crystal clear pictures of my books and could read the writing on the spines. My SD card didn't come today, so I had to work with the 16 mg it came with. :rotfl2:

Anyway, I can't wait to spend some time with this baby!

...if Canon has fixed the troublesome lens cap in the S3. Many of the reviews I've read online of the S1 & S2 have complained that the lens cap falls off too easily.

Anybody else have this problem??

The fz30 has a hot shoe and RAW format.

Disregard. This one is redundant. It was not appearing in my previous post and now has magically appeard there.

Dan, Thanks for the beautiful pictures and music! I think of all the parks, my mom, enjoyed MGM the most, watching Beauty and The Beast. :)

TC :cool1:

Dan, nobody -- and I mean, nobody -- SEES Disney the way you do. Thank you for sharing it with us, so we can see it, too!

Your pictures always make my day. :)

Thanks Dan. I'm heading down in May on another solo trip. I do enjoy being with someone to share the fun but it's a whole different experience going solo. Give me plenty of time to take pictures.

I love the way you see Disney Dan. I'm hoping to talk DW into going for a weekend in June without the kids. I look forward to seeing Disney a bit differently than in the past. Just looking for the little things like you do and using my camera to help capture them. Excellent job once again.

Dan your, what you consider okay pictures, make my best pictures look like nothing. Thanks for the wonderful pictures and lord I wish I was going to WDW.

You can definitely see WDW differently without kids, and with my new toy, I want to go more than ever without DD! Gotta hire a sitter for one of these days so I can go SOLO!

You photos are wonderful Dan.

Dan, I don't think I've ever seen a "just ok" picture that you have taken. Need I remind you of the horrible one that I took in the cabin thanks to a finger print on the lens. Don't forget, whenever you get around to the pictures that you took on the 4th of Dec., send me a set....and don't forget to include the pictures of ALL my kids!! ;)

Can anyone, direct me where I would set my camera to burst mode. My puppy (aka Stitch) stole my users manual, and I have not figured out yet where she hid it (bad bad puppy!).

I have not used this feature yet, and can't seem to find anything on line that tells me where the setting is.

TIA
