I know that has nothing to do with this thread, but I doubt someone wouldn't get hired b/c they have opened and cancelled a CC after the agreed upon terms to get a perk. How does that look badI do agree it is very bad for your credit...more than just the few points your credit number dips. A credit score is a lot more than just the number. How many CC you have open, not only what your balance is, but what your potential balance could be and closing credit cards can be very bad for your credit.
It depends on the company but if they offer big perks they could wonder if the person is only there for the perks etc. Also it could show no loyalty. Not saying it is 100% going to not get you a job but if there are other issues that could be something they look at as well.
