Now I know I risk attention for getting into a tiz so far in advance, and this is indeed the reason why I had not chosen to say anymore about this matter on the forum until you kindly asked, but we have committed to flights costing over £5,000 and we are not impressed.

Yesterday I booked a ferry to France and two hotels over there, all on line, and in the a space of about half an hour received my e-ticket and confirmations respectively. I know the airline holiday business is far more technical, but we are getting rather frustrated with them.

We are now waiting to December 6th to see what happens then. I'll let you know.

Thanks again for your interest.

John

So are you saying that you know what seats you have on the ferry and which hotel room numbers you have? or, like with Virgin, you have confirmation of a place and a room??
If you book with VA on;one you get the very same email confirmation straight away.
If not when will you know the hotel room numbers and the ferry seats?

Surely you've got something better to do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you've had enough of Mickey Mouse already! grab yourself a couple of beers, a towel, a sunbed and soak up some rays!!!!!!

PS gotta mention Virgin are still showing those extra flights on their schedules for May - so who knows maybe they will be back on after all!

PPS keep up the researching - I may need more info from the dark side soon!
Hope you're having a good one.

It's 5;30 and the sun's gone in <boo!>
Will go out soon to get some food (Yay!)
Actually, on saturday the extra flight had been cancelled and our flight was filled to the gunnels. (VS15)
I really do think its about how many bookings they have whether they have the extra sat flights, they are not on weekdays anyway.

Enjoy your grub - also please keep a lookout for any cyber cafes on route - I may still try to do online checkin in Orlando the day before we come home - although I must say Im not as bothered now - hubby might actually appreciate being over the other side of the plane, away from me and the kids - especially as hes got a three hour drive back to Lowestoft when we hit home!

There is a LOT more cybercafe's and WiFi connections available now than even in January, there is a big push from some of the suppliers to push both cable and DSL connections

So long as where we go for dinner includes pizza, Little 'un will be happy :-)

Well, Mr Kenobi, outbound we have reclining seat nos. 7309 and 7310, and inbound we have reclining seat nos. 85 and 86. The ships are called Normandie and Mont. St. Michel respectively. As for our hotels, well, we regularly stay at both of them, and I know the rooms that we will be allocated. In one of them there is some splendid antique furniture. Do you want to know anymore about our holiday? I can tell you the restaurants we will frequent.

I've had enough of your rudeness. Mr Kenobi, I had hoped that 'the word' sent to you by a moderator after I complained about your last attack would have prevented your involvement, but clearly you are a sad man if you are in Disneyland sitting at a laptop slagging off other forum members. Say what you like in response but for goodness sake leave me alone.

I have again reported to a moderator with a request for this situation to be resolved. I am not keen to post again until I can be assured that any thread and my posts will not be hijacked. This man's sarcasm is intolerable. Do others agree with me or am I too sensitive?

JNA iagree with you 100% i to am flying with virgin on 14oct06 P E and i want to know my seats in advance but every time i ringvirgin airways they just keep saying call back in a few days? what i dont want is the downstairs P E seats.

That's enough sniping, folks. Any more, and this thread WILL be locked. Personal attacks simply are not allowed in this forum and I will remind everyone to keep things civil. This thread makes some good points and passes on good information, but it is not anyone's soapbox or outlet to criticise others' holiday choice. Please stay on topic.

I would l;ike the moderator to look at my comments which were asking a question!
Where in my question does it "Slag you off"?
Where is the sarcasm? I asked a perfectly good question, if you had been given the seat you would be in and the hotel room numbers?
Thank you for your fulsome answer, which is very good service for the ferry to do this for you, but I assume that this is not some 11 months in advance.
as for your personal attacks, I will choose to ignore those, unless you are prepared to apologise for them.

I think you are being too sensitive. You did ask for advice and Obi gave you the relevant answers which it appears you chose to ignore and although he did resort to some sarcasm it was getting to be tit-for-tat at that stage. Obi obviously knows what he is talking about on this subject and his answers were concise and informative. I think reporting him to a moderator is also taking things too far, moderators check these threads all the time and always step in before things go too far.

My point of replying to this is actually to say that a lot of people on here take personal umbrage if someone does not agree with their own viewpoint, I have had a few run-ins myself, but we all like different things and as long as you are happy with what you do does it really matter what someone else thinks?

Have a happy holiday everyone!

Lol
