Cancellations

Just recently booked a trip to Disney and am trying to make dining reservations. We are arriving on 9/17 so it is cutting it close on the dining. Has anyone had any experience with other guests canceling their ADR 's and being able to get into Le Cellier?

Not with Le Cellier, but with O'Hana. I just checked back every day for a week and finally got one. I got very lucky it was a good time.

I did try the same method for LeCellier, I had an ADR but wanted a better time.

People do cancel, and it certainly is possible. Also, I think there is a thread people post to where if they are dropping a restaurant they'll help you time it so you can pick it up right away.

A friend and I got into Le Cellier for a noon lunch, booking the reservation at 8 AM the same day (on a Saturday in July).

Keep checking, even check on the same day if you really want to eat there. I do realize that July doesn't have public free dining, whereas September does.

I got Le Cellier, Ohana, and CRT within a month of a May trip by checking at least once a day online and also subscribing to the ADR cancellation threads.

You'll have better luck for a lunch than dinner I think. But as others have said, keep trying. DH and I did a walk in a couple of years ago, but it's just the 2 of us, so that makes it a bit easier. Also, call instead of look online...at least that's the advice I see on here the most. Good luck to you! We love going in September!!

We got a cancellation at LeCellier one year. I'm sure people do cancel it....I've heard of people cancelling because of sickness or a change in the weather making them choose a different park or stay at the resort.

So just keep checking....multiple times a day, you really have to stalk the computer LOL

A big thank you to all of you for the help. I will make sure to check out the ADR board and stalk these boards until I go. Also, that is a great idea to call instead of trying to book online.
We are going 9/17 and the free dining is not available while we are there.

Free dining is definitely going on during your trip. The dates are August 25-September 29. That is why it is difficult to get reservations. The reason you weren't able to have free dining is the booking window ended in mid-May.
